and I think we should also have a tiny presentation of Thanks Wine and actual thanks for the DoD super consultant who kicks our arses keeps us on the straight and narrow and gives proper group-type advice, without us having to sit in a cold church hallWink

FairhairedandFrustrated · 25/11/2012 13:46

lol you just haven't found the right group/venue yet pet :)

Oohhh another good day yesterday, on track for a good week - having problems with my bowels at the min Blush

Who said Sunday was a day of rest? I've cooked and cleaned since I got out of bed this morning! Breakfasts, 2nd breakfasts, cleaning cupboards, cleaning windows, an frigging wrecked.

And all I've managed is half a cup of coffee and some pineapple.

Roast chicken, spuds and veg for dinner - dh is cooking, whether he likes it or not!!

Had sweet and sour chicken last night, only 2 syns in it, delicious and have some left over if I get peckish later.

How are you all getting on?

Huffpot · 25/11/2012 13:54

Woohoo Miss Slim Slinky!

gets camera out ready for presntation

Oh Sunday is never a day of rest here either!

Cooking breakfast, mopping the floors, washing then cooking lunch and am debating craft this afternoon for Christmas presents!

Huffpot · 25/11/2012 13:56

Day has been good so far food wise...
Scan bran, eggs and mushrooms for breakfast and left over SW curry and rice for lunch. Am unsure of dinner but maybe pork chops, roast spuds and loads of veg.

pixiestix · 25/11/2012 15:22

Well done SlimJim!! Thanks Smile

[waves] all round!

ladyarwenevenstar · 25/11/2012 18:15

hi pixie

no rest for the wicked me either. DS2 has tonsilitis, so awful night with both small DC wrigging about in my bed and shouting out etc. Yet DH who had a peaceful night on the sofa somehow gets to go back to bed at stupid o'clock when we got upHmm until lunchtime because apparently he is too stupid to read a clock

scrubbed the arm chair, washed down walls, cleaned pictures and ornaments and had a swap round, reorganised books... still loads to do though, but nearly a christmas-ready living room. Can't clean the sofas as yet as they are bursting with not-quite-better DC. DH made us tidy the garage yesterday (like I don't have enough to do indoors)

On my 3rd good food day in a row (which is a bit of a recent recordWink)

ladyarwenevenstar · 25/11/2012 18:17

had harissa roast veg and chick peas last night, with a HEB of chicken breast. Was V yummy. Will attempt the steak and SW chips tonight. Might have an EE day tomorrow, if DH gets some eggs while he's out. (I did DH and the DC mash with leeks in it last night - it will make lush bubble and squeak).

FairhairedandFrustrated · 25/11/2012 20:20

Well done Ria!

What's Harissa if that's not too stupid a question...

A good good day here too, lunch was reheated sweet & sour chicken from last night - 1 syn

Dinner was roast chicken with stuffing (about 4 syns) carrots, broc and sprouts with roasties.

Have made cheats crisps for later (lasagne sheets parboiled & done with fry light in oven with chilli flakes/salt on them) They're probably classed as a 'tweak' on the plan as it's not ate the way lasagne sheets are meant to be ate so will be a few more syns today... but not as many as it could be if I opened a share bag of crisps!!

Hope DC are all better soon Ria and boo to DH for making you tidy a garage...

SlimJimBra · 25/11/2012 21:55

Aw thanks everyone Blush sorry I've been AWOL this w/e, Been a my dsis's for dniece's birthday. I think I ate more haribo that the 3 year olds, which is a record that takes some beating!

ladyarwenevenstar · 26/11/2012 10:24

harissa is a moroccan (I think) spice mix, I used the paste, which I think has a syn or two in a tablespoon, but its yummy and you don't need much.

Huffpot · 26/11/2012 10:57

Yup its got chillis, peppers and coriander in it plus some other bits.

I think TomDaleysTrunks used to make an amazing sweet chilli chicken recipe with it. I think the recipe is lurking somewhere on a thread

Off to my sewing class shortly. They've given up trying to get my boys to stay in the creche as they become hysterical...heaven knows what they will be like when they start nursery next year!

B: Mushrooms, eggs and SW wedges
L: Prob left over curry and rice
D: Chilli con carne
Am going to use scan bran as my HE and will have some before I go as we wont get home till about 2.30-ish or even 3

FairhairedandFrustrated · 26/11/2012 20:45

Evening! Thanks for that, obviously being in the arsehole of nowhere rural countryside I see nothing like Harissa! Sounds like something DH would enjoy :)

Have taken a huge leap and sent off for two applications for new jobs, both in PR.

One of then has replied saying send a CV and a cover letter - shit. How do I make myself sound interesting?

I went straight to an employer after school, left to have dd (then the place closed and I got redundancy) during this time I studied and resat GCSEs, the did A levels (between having ds) then my degree course and have been in my current day job since the month before I graduated.

I have also been self employed in the past 2 years alongside the day job.

Fuck, what the hell do I have to offer these businesses? One is for a company which sells instruments (I don't want this job, I just fekt brave when emailing for form) and the other is for a charity, I would like this job, but it temporary and I'm unsure if anything would become permanent. Plus it's based quite far away and I'd have to re-think school run etc etc etc but DD is for 'big' school next year and I'd work something out re: ds.

I'm convincing myself not to go fot them now, aren't I? There's no hope I'd get them, but I think interview experience and feedback would build my confidence.

Either way, my evening job is going to have to go soon - will explain more elsewhere.

ladyarwenevenstar · 26/11/2012 23:06

say just that FHF. That's fab experience, you have been out there in the workplace, made redundancy work for you by getting exams and degree, and current job - which you've stuck with, which showsyou have staying power and committment to a company. Plus the training you've done for the evening job, and then running your own business in your spare time, networking advertising etc. You have MASSES to offer - it's all in the wording, and you are a trained journalist -YOU CAN DO IT!!!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 26/11/2012 23:23

Ah Ria, you'd do wonders for my confidence.

Am also afraid it'd be a bit like out of the frying pan into the fire.

The paper I am with at the minute is well established and secure - but the pay is crap and I'm only part time. There's no possibility of full time there, even though to go part time was my decision, I requested it - and they brought someone else in to cover my lost hours.

Will work something out, it's just good to voice stuff and re-read over them again.

TomDaleysTrunks · 27/11/2012 16:03
