I've been down to DFS and got us some new squidgy sofas. Feel free to add anything else you like Grin

BTW, I did get dressed before I drove to the hospital! (Wish I had earlier, the ambulance man was niceBlush)

ChocolateZombiesmakemefat · 12/10/2012 13:08

Ria !!!! you poor poor thing! what an awful fright :(

Glad your Dad will be ok, you rest and eat your chocolate. Sorry about the news re your Uncle, I have no advice re what happens next sorry.Hope you holding up ok Thanks

grimRiaper · 12/10/2012 14:23

thank you. Mum is losing patience a bit! Think I get my bedside manner from herWink

grimRiaper · 12/10/2012 18:52

pretty manky-looking SW lasage with quark topping (from the freezer) just past the "kids test"! (served it upside downWink) Lots left for my on-plan lunch tomorrowSmile

FairhairedandFrustrated · 12/10/2012 22:54

Oh Ria, sorry to hear about your dad, I do hope he's ok?

And sad news re your uncle as well, I don't know what else to say, except cancer is an evil, family destroying bastard of a disease.

My day wasn't as planned, but still fine.

Breakfast: plum, nectarine, black coffee
Lunch: home made vegetable broth with loads of fresh veg from our own garden :) followed by pineapple and grapes and a muller light,
Afternoon snack was an apple and a black coffee.
Dinner: (much later than planned) was chicken, tuna with lighter than light mayo (0.5) mixed leaves, peppers, tomatoes, celery, beetroot. Really trying to get 1/3 Superfree in. Another black coffee at bed time with a bag of foxes mini party rings (5.5).

Total syns 6. Haven't had my heA or heB today, but that's fine.
Am focusing on the Superfree this week.

grimRiaper · 13/10/2012 00:16

Dad looks much better tonight thanks FHF, and he has stopped puking, so the morphine must have worn off. It's "only" his back that's gone (and I know how that feels, so that is a tongue-in-cheek only!), it was just the situation and being unable to move him + the pain that warranted the ambulance. He will be out of action for a while though, so Mum will have o get used to y driving!

Bed for me now.

kid · 14/10/2012 18:35

Glad your dad seems to be doing better Ria. Having to call an ambulance is a bit scary.

I'm a bit worried about DH at the moment. He has been ill for a couple of days and now has a bit of a cough. It just reminds me of how he was before he developed whooping cough. Surely he can't get it again? I'd have thought his body would have built up a bit of immunity against it after having it. Hopefully he'll be fine.

I have decided that I am going to try a bit harder with SW. I am starting to feel fatter and I don't want to undo all the good work I have done so far. So, today I wrote a meal plan for the whole week, wrote a shopping list and bought everything I need for the week. I allowed DS to get a few treats but nothing that will tempt me.

I have made a chocolate cake today which has almost all been eaten already, so as from the moment I wake up tomorrow, I am 100% on plan.
I don't know how I am going to be able to go to gym while DH is at work as DC have proved to me today that they can't be trusted Angry I have threatened them that they will have to come jogging with me seeing as I can't leave them at home!

grimRiaper · 14/10/2012 23:40

Dad is v. embarrassed about the whole thing now! He was up and dressed, and managed a visit from my boys today (DS2 was a bit preoccupied with constipation! His homework was to write a book blurb using "interesting" language... I tried to get him using alliteration, the two words he came up with were constipation and amputationHmm)

Hope your DH is OK kid

much love slinks x

FHF I have adopted you as my translator! How would "Aine" be pronounced? (there is a pronounciation on the website I was reading, bit it's and "A" and squiggles inside square brackets! The linguistics bit of my a-level didn't cover squiggles...)

hope everyone is OK and ready for the new week (I am NOT)

Smile
grimRiaper · 14/10/2012 23:42

kid - to make you feel better about your DC, my DS1 announced this morning that he "wouldn't be doing that again". when I asked what "that" was, it turned out he was "accidentally playing on his laptop until midnight last night.AngryAngry

He won't be doing that again!!!!

Huffpot · 15/10/2012 08:07

grimRiaper pronunciation of Aine I believe to be "onya" if that helps and gaelic for Anne

I am also feeling fatter after a friends wedding on Saturday with absolutely no SW friendly options and wine and champagne. Was only a very small wedding and quite odd...

Am hoping to be back on it now - just making a big SW breaky with eggs and wedges...I always make loads as my little ones gather round and eat off my plate

Bad night with my 3 year old so tired today...

B: scrambled eggs, beans, onion, courgette, pepper and potato wedges and a cuppa
L: salad of some description with chicken
D: SW quiche with salad
Syns: an options tonight but no idea otherwise!

TomDaleysTrunks · 15/10/2012 08:12

Glad your dad is better ria. Giggling at illiteration attempts!

slinky thinking of you.

choc wise words about 11 weigh ins for Xmas. I'm back on board and turning over a new leaf, drawing a line etc etc blah blah.

No time for exercise today but food looks like
B: weetabix (heb) fruit and skim milk (HEA)
L: chicken and cous cous salad, fruit
D: roast beef with no added fat and all fat trimmed off, roasties with fry light and veg.
Snacks: yog and fruit.

Feel so bloated and crap. Oh well. Dreading weigh in on Weds.

grimRiaper · 15/10/2012 11:34

thanks huffSmile

kid · 15/10/2012 16:18

Also thinking of Slinky, haven't heard any updates, hopefully no news is good news?

I can't make it to the gym tonight so I thought I'd make an effort and do 30 day shred. I've just finished day1 level1 and hope I can keep up some sort of routine to do it frequently rather than just 4 or 5 times a year! I have to collect DS from school shortly, hopefully my beetroot face will have faded a bit by then.

Breakfast and lunch on SW okay so far, just dinner to make and then to try and get through the evening without snacking on junk food.

B- 2 weetabix, milk, coffee (HEb, HEa)
L- Morrocan style couscous with peppers, onions, various spices, apricots (?syns
D- spinach cannelloni (I'll add some minced lamb for DH and DC)
Snacks- muller light, satsuma, apple.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 15/10/2012 19:19

Hello :)

Another one hoping no news is good news for B.

Ria, huff is right, Oinya or Anya - depending on however you prefer to say it, I know two & they're pronounced the two diff ways above. :)

I had a good weekend on plan, speed curry sat night and only the snacks I had syns for.
Yesterday was good, went to cinema and took my own orange and pineapple so wasn't tempted, dh was pissed off cos I went to the snack bar & just brought drinks Grin
Dinner was good too, beef and Superfree veg,

Today was; banana, yog & coffee for breakfast, lunch was left over curry from sat night with grapes, strawberries, yog snd an apple mid afternoon.

Haven't had dinner yet as am not ready for it!

Kim, I must hoke out the 30 day shred too!!

kid · 15/10/2012 19:49

That shred is such hard work. I think if I can do it every week night, I'll be satisfied with that.

I'm actually really disappointed with my gym. They are squeezing so much equipment in, its only a matter of time before there is an accident. Also, the classes are oversubscribed as people just turn up without booking a place. It really puts me off going. I have emailed them about i and they Saud they'd do a register for the popular classes but I haven't seen them doing that yet.

Dinner was a success. Dh and ds ate all of it, dd picked out the spinach.

GettinTrimmer · 15/10/2012 21:57

I've got the shred. It's very good, when I was doing it people commented on my toned arms Smile I will start back with day 1 level1.

Will fit it in after I finish work at 1pm and before school pick up!

ria sorry to hear your sad news.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 16/10/2012 15:08

I need a new job!!!!!!!! Angry

Pretty damn soon too before I end up rocking in a corner.

kid · 16/10/2012 16:32

Bad day Fairhaired?

I had a busy day at work, I was given a surprise deadline but being clever, I knew they would .spring this on us so I have been preparing my work. So, by doing so, I have lightened the workload for myself and 2 colleagues.

After collecting DS from school tonight, I chucked him out of the front room and made him go on his Xbox. Of course he didn't mind one bit!
I then did day2 of the 30 day shred. Sweating like mad now so I think I'll have a shower before I start dinner which is chicken curry tonight. I know DH doesn't like it but he'll have to eat it or go without as that's what I'm cooking.
It's amazing how nearly 2 days on plan can make me feel so much slimmer.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

grimRiaper · 16/10/2012 22:18

Sad FHF - day job? (go one, write a novelSmile) or, DS1's favourite english teacher packed in teaching this year to do freelance writing (I believe she writes for a music magazine, but truly, where we live I don't think we have "freelance" anything!)

grimRiaper · 16/10/2012 22:34

bugger, didn't finish that post! Are there any openings for freelance work for you? (Why can't you write for SW mag???Wink) anything to focus on to make the present bearable enough to get through to better things.

B - sending love your way.

Am in awe of the shredding. I am at a loss to how I can have control of the living room long enough to exercise. I had hoped to go to zumba tomorrow, but I am in class in the morning. By the time DH is out, the kids are almost home. I will try to work something out as I have a couple of DVDs I want to try, plus zumba on the wii... failing that I will try to get the boys out on their bikes, whether I am walking or cycling.

tomorrow will be a touch stressy I think - DH is going for his second opinion about the shoulder replacement. I can't go with him as I have to take DS2 for his ENT appt/sleep study results - different hospitals at different times and 40 miles apart!
DH is also due to start a new (hopefully slightly longer term) work contract tomorrow (he was meant to start tonight but they rang and cancelled), his last one ended 2 weeks early (hence the stress - it's all bst)

anyhow , I will WI tomorrow, but if DH's new contract turns out to last longer than a week, I will probably change my WI to Sunday morning, as Sunday will be his early finish day (and as it's the only evening we'll have together we will be more likely to over indulge in wine in front of the TVBlush) and I am going to try MFP for a bit to monitor my portion sizes. There, said it! I hope you'll let me staySmile

FairhairedandFrustrated · 16/10/2012 23:07

A bit of both to be honest, sorry for being so self indulgent.

Old day job stress is rearing it's ugly head again. I work with a chauvanistic shaved testicle and he has weeks where he can be relatively civil and other times (like this week) where I could gleefully stab him to death with my biro and poke his eyes out with my spiral bound note book...

He is a journalist, same as me, he's not the editor, the editor is based in a different office. But as he's been there 6 months longer than me (do 6 months make a difference almost 5 years on??) he reckons he's more experienced.

His has a hateful laugh, his breath smells like shite, he dresses awfully, he doesn't wash his hands after he's been to the toilet, he says 'um' before he speaks, he points his finger at me when he speaks to me, then when I asked him to stop as it was rude and intimidating, he asked me why, do I not point at my children? I said no, as I parent them, not intimidate them, and if that's what he was asking, was he insinuating I was a child who he needed to parent?

Anyway, that's part time, the evening job is PT and comes with its own pressures.

I saw a job advertised locally today for a magazine, 40 hrs a week, they're looking a CV sent in... I don't have a CV! But I am very, very tempted to go for it & see just what it has to offer.... what do youse think? It's 40 hours a week, no guarantee I'd get it, but I know I would be good at it (if that's not too bigheaded)

grimRiaper · 17/10/2012 08:00

DO IT ! GO FOR IT ! ! ! (can't shout any louderWink)

reading your post, what have you got to lose? (love "shaved testicle" is he bald?) You don't stand a chance of getting the job if you don't apply! There is loads of advice/template for CV's on the www here is one example.

TomDaleysTrunks · 17/10/2012 08:09

Grin fair. He's sounds like a twunt.

Quick post as vair busy at the moment organising our move.

It's Day of Doom today so PM me; pleased with mine but not sure how I pulled it off!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 17/10/2012 09:04

Thanks for that Ria, am off today so will have a look at a CV.

I've nothing to lose by just going for the interview, or even sending them my CV and not getting an interview, at least I'll have done something?

Yes, he's bald. And stinking. And he said yesterday, oh, by the way, I'm off on Friday, I almost cheered!!!

Good luck all for day of doom! I am enjoying plan this week, not sure if I've actually lost, but know my eating has been good do it'll show:)

Am sitting here going through food diaries from my other job.... Hmm half times you wonder if people are actually present when doing the new member talk....

ChocolateZombiesmakemefat · 17/10/2012 13:23

How annoying just wrote a whole big response to thread and it hasn't shown.

Hi everyone hope WI is kind to you all

FHF go for it, do the application, it's the first step in getting away from such a vile man!

Ria How's your Dad doing?

I am finally seeing and feeling the result of my weight loss, which is weird how it has happened all of a sudden when people around me have been saying it for a while - has that happened to anyone else, just out the blue, you look and go 'is that me?' then jump up and down like a loon when you realise that that tiny waist is really yours!

Top half looking great, bottom half needs some work, though bum gone smaller as in smaller knickers now Grin thighs dont look as thunderous either, just wish my boobs would have gone down too!
