The previous thread was getting a bit full so I thought I should start a new one while we could still link between them.

Jax - just cut and paste it and put yourself on it!

Creamtea1 · 30/03/2012 21:26

Right, bacon and eggs plus some 'good' sausages in fridge ready for sun morning. Drink of choice shall be vodka and Bacardi (maybe couple with diet coke) and buffet shall be resisted. Pre going out dinner though? Thinking omelette which will need meat with it, and some salad. Well planned eye test on Sunday morning should avert possibility of lying around with carbs calling out from the cupboards.
Same weight today as yest, totm due on weds so can't work out of it should be a 'fat' week or not

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 31/03/2012 16:23

ah ok, Blush didnt think of that, but to be fair to myself, I have been up half the night in agony - went to Emergency Dr and turns out I have pleurisy. I couldnt bloody draw a breath!

Anyway, weighed in this morning and I am down a LOT after hovvering around the same for a week or so (but losing inches) I am now down 4lbs. That is pleasing considering my wine fest on Thurs evening, but I did eat properly pre and post.

I am having a hungry day today - also probably due to Thurs eve, but eating protein/salad and I am just off to grab some celery to dunk in some almond butter.

BIWI · 31/03/2012 16:57

OMG - poor you!

And well done on the 4lbs Envy grrr!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 31/03/2012 20:21

jax I am really sorry about the pluerisy - you have to get some rest and not strain yourself. Hope yoi feel better soon.

hilly - thank you syaing that! I unfortunately was ill last year and a combo of steroids and being hoursebound meant I put on 2 stone which I am gradually losing now thanks to low carb and Jillian Michaels!

I have been to a work conference for 3 days which went well, but all the food there (low carb or not) was revolting, so I barely ate anything, and when I got back yesterday poor dd had a broken finger, so had to sit in A&E for 4 hours. After that I was so hungry and tired I ate a macdonalds and the best part of a kilner jar full of jelly beans which I had won in a raffle . Very pissed off.

Back to normal tomorrow. Mind you I weighed myself before these shenanigans and I was so 10 stone 7 so I am going to add myself to the list, get back to form and not weigh myself until the end of next week.

vnmum · 31/03/2012 20:21

well done on the 4lb loss Jax but sorry about the pleurisy. I had pneumonia and felt like I was going to die so can imagine how bad you must be feeling

BIWI · 31/03/2012 21:01

I am getting pissed off with weight going up and down by the same 2lbs. It's been like this for three weeks now. So yesterday I had a bit of a hissy, and stupidly had too much wine and ordered a different curry from normal - one with a sauce as opposed to a tikka or tandoori chicken - and I snaffled a bit of DH's naan bread. With very predictable results. Another pound gained this morning. Angry

So it's back to the drawing board for me.

As of today - no alcohol, plenty of water (currently on my 3rd litre!). From Monday I'm giving up coffee as well, because of the milk (I don't like black coffee) and just generally making sure I'm only eating pure protein and low carb veg.

If that doesn't work, I'm not quite sure what to do next! Hopefully this will kick start things again.

BIWI · 31/03/2012 21:02

Oh, and will also make sure I'm eating plenty of fat, of course!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 31/03/2012 21:09

Mind you I must add that despite the searing regret, the first macdonalds I had in over 3 months was absolutely bloody wonderful. Sorry. Blush

It's awful when you cheat and it doesn't taste good, though.

lemniscate · 31/03/2012 22:37

Struggling today here too - it's DS's birthday and I have been making a cake extravaganza (he's 4 and very precise in his requirements!). There were plenty of chocolate cake offcuts. I have been very good considering, but not exactly brilliantly loyal to low-carbing. I didn't lick my fingers/the bowls clean of soft royal icing though, so that is a definite improvement on my usual cake decorating sessions!

Birthday party tomorrow. I am going to attempt to stick to the cocktail sausages and cucumber sticks while everyone else eats biscuits, cakes, pizza and crisps.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 31/03/2012 22:45

lemni let them all eat that salt and sugar filled pap - it really isnt worth it and wont taste half as good as you think it will.

Make sure you have a good meal before the party so that you are not hungry when the food is put out.

lemniscate · 31/03/2012 22:51

Jax - I made sure I didn't buy crisps or pizza as nice as our usual so I'm not too tempted Wink

teaandthorazine · 01/04/2012 10:21

Well, I have to admit to a cheat last night, but it was lovely and I'm refusing to regret it

Dp won some money on a work night out and booked a table last night at Le Cassoulet (AngryFeet you may know this place!) I studiously avoided the warm homebaked bread, the onion tartlet amuse bouches and the potatoes dauphinoise - instead I had crab, avocado and caviar tian, followed by confit duck with braised endive and sauted spinach.

And I also had warm chocolate fondant with dulce de leche icecreams and half a bottle of Bordeaux

But it was delicious, we had a lovely evening and am straight back on the wagon today with no regrets!

BIWI · 01/04/2012 11:31

Oooh! You aren't too far away from me if you've been to the Cassoulet! (Croydon, yes?) We had a lovely meal there for DH's 50th, although that was a while ago now.

There are certain occasions when a cheat is both unavoidable and not to be missed, I think studiously ignores previous ranty posts about not cheating

Food sounds lovely.

I have now lost two stones as of this morning

And can finally stuff myself fit into my size 14 jeans. Woohoo!

teaandthorazine · 01/04/2012 12:47

BIWI - Yes, am in 'lovely' Croydon - I think there are a few of us, may be a low carb meetup is on the cards! The restaurant scene there has definitely improved over the last few years!

I'm telling myself there's a big difference between stuffing my face with pringles and double deckers every other day and eating a professionally-cooked pudding in a lovely restaurant once every few weeks - one's a cheat but the other's a treat

One of my motivators for starting IPD is that I was eating lazily, which usually equally badly. I wanted to eat better, healthier food and get out of all those bad habits I was in.

teaandthorazine · 01/04/2012 12:49

Pressed send too soon! Anyway, that's my justification - I know what caused that extra stone and it wasn't Le Cassoulet choc fondants...!

BIWI · 01/04/2012 13:09

Well done, ilovemyteddy!

Tea - we're up the tram tracks in SW19. I'm always amazed by how few decent/upscale restaurants we have here, especially up in Wimbledon village, given how many wealthy folk must live in the area.

A Croydon meet-up would be a very good idea!

And I totally agree re eating well.

QueenStromba · 01/04/2012 13:34

I'm actually moving to Wimbledon at the end of the month! I highly recommend 40 the Hill which opened up recently on Wimbledon Hill. Buenos Aires Steak House has the best steak south of the river as far as I'm concerned.

OP posts:
BIWI · 01/04/2012 14:07

Queen - we had a dreadful meal at 40 the Hill last week Sad. Wouldn't go back there because of that. It was probably an off night, but it was a lot of money for a poor experience.

Whereabouts in Wimbledon are you moving to? We're in Merton Park. (you don't have to say specifically, obviously, but can be coded in your reply! Grin)

OhCobblers · 01/04/2012 14:27

I've had a couple of cheat nights : lots of wine one night but the right food followed by Chinese the following evening and even though it was Lamb in satay sauce, my starter was covered in a spicy batter (they didn't detail that on the menu!!) with more red wine!

In your experience how long will it take for that to stop affecting the weight loss and to get back to "normal" ??

QueenStromba · 01/04/2012 15:45

We had their tasting menu back in December and were really impressed with it - maybe the chef's only good with dishes he gets a lot of practice on. We're actually going be just a few minutes walk from Wimbledon station. We're living in the arse end of nowhere now so it'll be a nice change to be able to just pop out for a coffee or whatever whenever we fancy it.
