Oh thank god other people have fallen off the wagon this weekend. Me too. It's nice to be able to admit it. Not that I want you all to fail but it's nice not to feel like the only person finding this hard. Sending lots of positive vibes to y'all!

Too much wine, chips, bread, pudding.

However, I am still exercising a bit, which is good. Back on the wagon today, 11st dead, done a lot of pooing since so am hoping that will clear the decks a bit too! sorry for the TMI!

Breakfast: yoghurt
Lunch: thai red chicken curry, no rice.

Snack: a few almonds

Dinner: leftovers in fridge from the weekend inc some nice chorizo, chicken, cheese, salad. Then some stewed berries and cream.

Will also go for a run tonight. Might attempt some intervals - I have been talking intervals for weeks so need to put my money where my mouth is on that front. Cycling to work tomorrow and also have pilates. Will also try to cycle on Thursday and maybe Friday.

Ok, I have to ask - what is the principle behind Shred? I've had a look at the website - but I can't quite work out if it is significantly different from other types of exercise. Please all you knowledgeable ones tell me.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 14:34

It's great - it is a 20 minute workout video which is based on 3-2-1 system (3 mins strength e.g. weights, squats, lunges, then 2 minutes cardio, then 1 minute abs - these 6 min circuits are repeated 3 times.

It doesn't sound much but it is very well structured and really gets results.

I normally can't stand workout videos as I find the people annoying but this is really good, and the best thing is that it is 20 mins so very easy to fit in.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 14:35

It is a fiver atm on amazon (well it was a few weeks ago)

flipflopflap · 05/03/2012 14:45

CointreauVersial

Don't have a recipe as I sort of made it up- but I sauteed a punnet and a half of mushrooms in butter for a few minutes then added about a cup of stock and simmered for a few minutes. I then added some cream and blue cheese and simmered it down until it had thickened slightly. I just keep tasting it until it tastes good!

For the topping I put about 2 tbsp of soya flour, and the same in parmesan in a bowl with salt and pepper. I used veggie parmesan which is dried, not sure whether fresh would work or not. I then rubbed butter in a bit at a time until it resembled breadcrumbs. Put the mushrooms in a small pie dish and scatter with the crumble, bung in the oven until it's done. Mega Tasty!

Thank you GetOrf. For a fiver, I'm up for it. I do 50 mins of Callanetics 3 times a week & do my good old Cindy Crawford videos (get me, with my modern technology) on at least 2 of the other nights. I was a bit scared that Shred might be too hard for me, but I'm getting fitter - so think I'll give it a go.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 14:49

Oh god I had those cindy crawford vids! Bloody depressing looking at Cindy all the time, and then you see your sweaty face in the mirror. Grin

There is a multipack of videos on amaxon which may be worth getting - 6 week 6 pack and No more Trouble zones are both really good as well.

Hi, can I join you? I'm starting a low carb diet today. I've had a cheese and tomato omelette for breakfast and tuna mayo on Ryvitas for lunch. I've lost weight on Atkins in the past and have found I can have up to 5 Ryvitas a day and it's not made any difference to the weight loss. Please don't tell me not to do it - I work all day and don't have time to cook food to bring in for lunch.

Tonight I'm having salmon and salad.

I notice a few of you mention yoghurt? What sort can you have on a low carb diet? For some reason I thought it was banned.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 16:11

Hello imperial Smile

You can have greek - the full fat jobby not the low fat one. You can get a great bucket of the stuff in Lidl for about £2.

Don't make the same mistake as I did and get confused between dukan and atkins, and think that Muller lights were unlimited

Iatemyskinnyperson · 05/03/2012 17:26

Hi another newbie question! I've on P1D6 in P2T. Are those GGunique fibre crackers suitable for phase 1? They would save my bacon in the evenings. I've eaten half a jar of peanut butter so far Blush

AngryFeet · 05/03/2012 18:31

Ooh I have just made a batch of oopsie rolls! They are pretty damn good as a carb substitute! I had to guess how much splenda was in a 'packet' so I used 3/4 tsp. I can imagine a pretty tasty bacon sarnie will be my breakfast in the morning.

Here is the recipe I used

I am also going to try a cheeseburger pie later which apparently is really good:

Cheeseburger Pie

Total carbs 9c. Serves 4
Ingredients:
500g minced beef
50g finely chopped onion
150g chopped mushrooms
100mls double cream
2 heaped tablespoons of mayo
150g strong cheddar grated
3 eggs
salt & pepper to taste

Fry mince, onion and mushrooms together until cooked season to taste, drain off fat, add Lee & Perrins sauce.
Place in a greased foil covered deep pie dish, flatten with spoon.
Beat eggs add mayo, cream and cheese.
Pour over the top of mince, drop olives around the dish and bake in oven Gas mark 5 for 20 to 25 mins until set and golden brown.
Leave to cool before taking out of pie dish, remove foil.
Cut in to portions and wrap in cling film
This freezes very well.
Lovely with salad, cauli mash, or stir fry (Great in lunchboxes)

Optional 1 Tablespoon Lea & Perrins 2c and 10 black olives

AngryFeet · 05/03/2012 18:35

Oh wait, apparently 1 packet splenda = 2 tsp

Saw this which has some ideas of things to do with oopsie rolls.

Just need to find out if there is a limit on these on induction for atkins....

QueenStromba · 05/03/2012 18:48

I made a muffin in a minute today using quarter teaspoons of baking soda and cream of tartar instead of baking powder since I discovered it has wheat in it. I had no idea that they were supposed to be so light - my baking powder must have been old and decrepid because they were coming out quite solid.

Today I had a cheddar slice, a spoonful of peanut butter, and Diet Coke for breakfast. Blush I was in a hurry!

I just got home and had scrambled eggs with a bit of sauteed peppers, onions, mushrooms, and asparagus. Delish!

When my son gets home (my FIL picks him up after preschool and keeps him for awhile) we're going to take a looooong walk with the dog. :)

Vnmum love that link! :) Wow!

AngryFeet · 05/03/2012 19:09

Weigh in day for me tomorrow. Not very hopeful as although I have stuck to the plan my period is due in next day or two and I always gain a bit before. Still, next weeks loss should be ok :)

AngryFeet · 05/03/2012 19:11

Yes that link was a great inspiration! I thought she should have stopped at 158lbs personally as she looked really healthy there and way too thin on the last pic. Each to their own though I suppose. I am not keen on being skinny so I am aiming for a size 12 as I like a bit of curve still. But then my mum was anorexic so skinnyness makes me nervous....

Does Greek yogurt taste as sour as natural yogurt? I normally get Alpro natural soy yogurt as it tastes really nice on it's own, but it's a bit expensive and I can't get it locally, really fancy giving the Lidl Greek one a go.

Think I'll give the Oopsie Rolls AngryFeet recommended a go at the weekend, fancy something to put a veggie burger in as they can be a bit boring on their own!

AngryFeet · 05/03/2012 20:44

Just had cheeseburger pie with some veg. Really, really tasty and makes 4 portions so good for lunches this week.

Will let you know how my bacon sarnie with the oopsie rolls is in the morning.

flipflopflap · 05/03/2012 21:17

Just made some Tofu Falafel and I know they sound like the weirdest/ most horrible things ever (I'm veggie and normally hate Tofu) but they tasted pretty spot on the real thing. I had a little snack and put one on a Chicory leaf with mayo and tahini. Gorgeous!

AngryFeet · 05/03/2012 21:20

Could i have the recipe please flipflop? I love falafel!

I have been eating the cauldron marinated tofu pieces for snacks. They are pretty good :)

flipflopflap · 05/03/2012 21:40

Oh yes I forgot about those they are yummy!

Recipe based on a Rose Elliot one-

250g Firm Tofu drained
Small handful fresh Coriander
1 Garlic clove crushed
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp Soya Protein or Soya Flour*
Salt
Oil for Frying

Break the Tofu into chunks and squeeze extra liquid out. I did the old method of draining between a tea towel with a weight on top before I broke it up, as you need to get as much liquid out as possible.

Put in a food processor with everything else and whizz into a paste.

The recipe then says form into balls but mine was a little sloppy so I put some oil in a small frying pan, heated it up and then spooned balls into the oil, it much easier that way. Roll around the pan until all surfaces are crispy and serve!

*I had to add a little extra soya flour to make it less 'wet'.

Enjoy Grin
