Hello in spicy and i am 5ft3 and as of today weigh 12st 5lb, i also have high blood pressure so really need to get my act together.

So i was reading the other threads and ordered the shred i have just done level one my god im dying lol. Also have been doing zumba on wii

Now i do start out with good intentions and i do really well for a few weeks and then fall off the wagon so to speak.

I have no time scale though i am going away in june so would like to be at least a stone lighter by then.

I have lost 7lb since the start of january so its a start.

Does anyone want to join me even if its just moral support cos i need some and need help to stop eating all the time.

LilacWaltz · 09/02/2012 14:14

I will!

Today will be day 9 of shred, but I'm still on level one and can't see me moving up for a while yet! Am struggling with some moves

Eating healthy too, but nit weighing in til end of march as I fear the muscle I'm building will weigh more making it look like a small loss. I'm down a buckle notch on my belt though!

I also do c25k but not been out this week.... I need new trainers. But it's been too icy to run as well really

spicyorange · 09/02/2012 14:20

Hello lilac [waves], i couldnt even do the push ups todaySad i will get there though. Im doing breakfast then slimfast for lunch and something healthy for tea.

I walk everywhere though. Well done with the running thats way out of my league yet.

Think im going to stay of the scales and do measurements an see what happens.

OP posts:
LilacWaltz · 09/02/2012 14:23

Oh yes! Forgot to say, I took measurements on day 1 of shred. Intend to take them again on day 15 and then on 30

I have had a mad splurge on vegetables! I'm not veggie, but making loads of soups, veg lasagne and veg curry. I try to keep the carbs low usually too.

spicyorange · 09/02/2012 14:29

Ive been having jacket potatoes with tuna and also rice mixed with peppers and mushrooms trying to only eat chicken if i have any meat. I have as of today cut out bread and biscuits and i mean to stick to it. Going to come on here when i have the urge to snack.

LilacWaltz · 09/02/2012 18:30

Well I just did day 9 of shred. Still alive! Used slightly heavier weights for some of it. Pleased I got through it.

Veg curry and rice for tea.....and an apple!

spicyorange · 10/02/2012 10:08

I had jacket potato for tea with rice yum. Got up this morning and my muscles are aching going to do day 2 of the shred this afternoon.

QuietOhSoQuiet · 10/02/2012 11:30

spicy I hope you don't mind me saying but you really do not need 2 lots of carbs in one meal as in "jacket potato with rice" that is too much ,swap 1of the carbs for protein instead, much better for you and keeps you fuller for longer.

We all eat far too many carbs and I don't just mean the processed ones when really we should increase the lean protein we eat instead of filling up on carbs

tell me to bugger off if you like but the protein is better for muscle recovery,it keeps you fuller for longer. Eat carbs yes but swapping might make the weight come off easier and permenantly.

am definately not saying go on a low carb high protein diet though before someone shouts at me :o

NoMoreStilton · 10/02/2012 11:52

Hi spicy and lilac,

I'll join you if that's ok.

Could definitely use moral support. I got back on the diet wagon 2 days ago and have NOT stuck to it so far :( Appalling I know... But I successfully lost weight in the run up to my wedding last year, so I know I can do it again - just need to be more disciplined.

I have 2 stone to lose. Would love it to be gone by summer.

My biggest challenge is eating out... I do it a lot, and I hate going to a steak house and having to order a salad... but I guess it's got to be done.

Not sure what shred is... will google :)

So here are my stats: NoMoreStilton 5ft10.5 cw:12 stone, tw: 10 stone

Will update as I go along.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!!

Pootles2010 · 10/02/2012 12:03

Am i allowed to join? I've focussed more on diet (am doing slimming world) but starting to pull exercise in too - gym tonight then body balance on Sunday.

Am 5ft 2, and 11st 4 at the moment. Also aiming for June as that's a very glamorous friend's wedding - I normally hate dress shopping, determined it will be less traumatic this time!

ledkr · 10/02/2012 12:14

Ill join.I have joined countless threads but they are so big and well established i get ignored Sad Grin
I had my 5th baby 12 months ago and just cannot shift the 2 stone i have left.I cant fit into any of my nice clothes and am back at work now so could do with it. I have definately changed my bad relationship with food and have lost some weight because of it.I kind of loosely follow slimming world but am a bugger at weekends, not really bad just a little.I am shreddding too not every day as i keep getting headaches so dont fancy it then.I do level 3 atm as i have been doing it a while.
My bloody scales fluctuate so much,i wonder if they are faulty.I have defo lost weight (people notice clothes bigger) and it showed around half a stone on the scales then yesterday wighed me heavier than ever Shock and im definately not. Hmm

shaketheshame · 10/02/2012 12:15

Can I join too ? I need slimming buddies !!

Pootles2010 · 10/02/2012 12:37

ledkr maybe better to start using tape measure rather than scales? They do sound a bit dodgy!

NoMoreStilton · 10/02/2012 13:25

Hi pootles, ledkr and shake,

Iets hope this is the thread we all lose weight on Grin

ledkr congrats on 5 babies! That's amazingSmile I'm also trying to lose two stone... But think I gained weight due to stress at work.

shaketheshame · 10/02/2012 13:56

I'm doing WW and I have 3 stones to lose by the summer ! So far so good ! 29 points is generous !

spicyorange · 10/02/2012 14:34

Sorry if i keep updating im slowly reading through the thread ledkr im dying of doing level one of the shred think it could be a while before i get to 3 lol.

OP posts:
shaketheshame · 10/02/2012 14:42

I'm starting (again) the 30 days shred this week end..Last I did it, I didn't even do the 20 minutes but it killed me anyway but it is really good for us !

I'm training for the 5 k race as well.

Will post later a typical food day.

LilacWaltz · 10/02/2012 18:01

So is protein really good for muscle recovery? That's interesting. Is that what your next meal after exercise should be?

I did day 9 of shred last night. Still level one, but I did more and feel ok today. Day 10 today

Why have I just made a lemon pudding? I kinda know the dc will only eat a little, unless it's exceptional! I suppose I can have a little, but I will be cross with myself if I eat loads. Self sabotage.

spicyorange · 11/02/2012 07:16

Ohh lilac i love lemon pudding its just the temptation to eat it.

Ive woke up feeling less sore today

Right on the down side im going to mcdonalds today and the temptation will be huge does anyone know what i can eat there without feeling guilty and bad.

OP posts:
LilacWaltz · 11/02/2012 09:04

The calories are on the menu now. Not too bad for a simple burger, it's the fries and milkshake which are calorific! Doubt there is much there really.

I usually just have a coffee and use the free wifi to distract myself

I'm abut bruised and sore today, so think I will have a day off from shred. Just one! Monday I am off to buy some trainers so I can power walk and run again.

spicyorange · 11/02/2012 09:10

Think i will just have a coffee and drool over dd happymeal lol.

Im going to do shred this morn and going for a walk this afternoon will sleep tonight i bet.

OP posts:
ledkr · 12/02/2012 10:39

Hi all.Sorry not been on but i had a lot to drink with another mumsnetter on Friday (easily influenced) and spent all day throwing up yesterday so although unpleasant was a good detox Hmm still feel a bit shakey am existing on diet coke which tastes like nectar to my dehydrated body.
Anyone thinking half term will be hard.Im off work and am bound to end up in mcds or pizza as a "treat for the kids" Grin

spicyorange · 12/02/2012 14:24

Hi ledkr good way to start a detox lol. Ahh well i ended up having a mcdonalds but i only had weetabix before that so my fitnes pal calorie thing was just slightly over [someone slap me] [shakes head] i couldnt resist i know i know.
