Hello in spicy and i am 5ft3 and as of today weigh 12st 5lb, i also have high blood pressure so really need to get my act together.

So i was reading the other threads and ordered the shred i have just done level one my god im dying lol. Also have been doing zumba on wii

Now i do start out with good intentions and i do really well for a few weeks and then fall off the wagon so to speak.

I have no time scale though i am going away in june so would like to be at least a stone lighter by then.

I have lost 7lb since the start of january so its a start.

Does anyone want to join me even if its just moral support cos i need some and need help to stop eating all the time.

Sorry parents been visiting this weekend, so haven't been on much! Body balance is one of the Les Mills classes, mix of tai chi, pilates and yoga. Not really aerobic, but bloody hard work!

Had such a good weekend, then messed it up at the weekend... sigh!

Would be fine on a diet if never went out or had guests Hmm

Pootles2010 · 13/02/2012 10:20

Oh and re mcd's - the grilled bacon salad is the best (diet) thing on the menu.

LilacWaltz · 13/02/2012 22:40

Got new trainers at last! So off running tomorrow.... Couch to 5 k, can recommend it!

Back to power walking daily with a friend 4/5 days a week

Shred daily...day 13 tomorrow

Healthy eating. Going ok. Packing for a house move so a tad stressed right now! Oh, and small matter of half term/ 5 kids at home!

spicyorange · 14/02/2012 10:05

Day 5 of the shred for me and level one is getting easier. Going for a walk today aswell.

lilac you must be like wonder women to cope with that.

Hi everyone how is everyone doing?.

I had some news today had bloods done last week and seems i have high cholesterol as well argh ive had enough.

So does anyone have any advice on what the hell i should be eating as i am getting this all wrong ive as of today switched back to two slimfasts a day and tonight im having rice with chicken and veg.

OP posts:
NoMoreStilton · 16/02/2012 13:37

Hi ladies,
Sounds like everyone is doing well.

spicy afraid I don't have much advice re: high cholesterol. All that springs to mind is that butter type spread that they advertise as being able to lower cholesterol, (I forget its name).

As for me, things are going ok. I've lost weight and I'm sticking to my diet relatively well. I just wish I could find a replacement for toasted bread/bagels. I'm eating whole grain bread, but ideally would prefer not to eat it everyday for breakfast.

Hi, I tried the shred but have found level 1 a bit tiresome after a while, but I kept going back on and off it, which isn't really good. So last week I started with 3 days of the power or 3 dvd (20-30mins) and attended one Zumba class. This week have attended Zumba and plan to go to another class at the weekend and have just done a 20-30mins of Power of 3 dvd.

I am cutting down on what I am eating but just cheated now with a small slice of cake (as I have a splitting headache).

Just wondered what the zumba wii is like ? is it worth buying ? My aim is to loose a stone.

spicyorange · 17/02/2012 08:43

Hi poppy i have zumba for the wii its ok you can start as a beginner and work your way through it, theres is 20 min sessions or longer ones depending on what you want to do.

I did level 2 of the shred yesterday think in going to go back to level one for a few more days.

Diet wise im doing ok just feel so hungry all the time so im trying to keep drinking water.

Hello ive had an ok week a few good days and a couple of bad, defo noticed that im shaping up just still not losing any pounds, so have dusted of my diet plate and started weighing my food.

How is every one else doing???

OP posts:
MurtleTheTurtle · 27/02/2012 10:48

Hi spicy, could I join you please? I don't post much on mumsnet but your thread definitely appeals at the moment. I am only 5ft3 and weigh 11st6. I carry it pretty well but I am getting fairly desperate to shift 2 stone. Its really getting me down now. Even 1 stone would be nice...

I'm not following any particular plan - I have some food issues which restrict my diet. I eat a lot of rice so I'm switching to brown and reducing portion size. The biggest problem is that I don't eat cooked vegetables (I'm not weird, really, I just have a bit of a mental block) so I can't fill up with nice healthy veggies.

I don't eat crisps or chocolate or cake or biscuits (well, very rarely!) so I really don't know why I'm so heavy! Must be portion size. And wine!

I run for 30 mins 2-3 times a week. I'm aiming to up that to 4-5.

I thought posting on a thread like this, with others, might help keep up the momentum.

spicyorange · 28/02/2012 10:07

Hi murtle welcome to the thread i have a problem with portion sizes to and im trying really hard to get controll of it. Good luck i post every few days so just catch up when you can.

Waiting for my weights to come for the shred to see if i burn more calories ive gone to level 2 woohoo.

OP posts:
MurtleTheTurtle · 05/03/2012 15:43

Weighed in the morning, 11st4lbs = so 2lb down. BUT I'm not too excited as this is the same 2lb I keep losing / gaining and until I get down to 11st3lbs or below I won't believe I'm actually moving in the right direction.

On the bright side I ran 4 times last week so I'm meeting some of my goals at least!

spicyorange · 07/03/2012 18:08

Hi ive weighed my self today and im finally 12 st 4lbs im hoping ive unstuck my self. I have really started to lose the inches and tone up doing the shred did level 3 today as well.

Thanks Spicy, have no time frame either and not following any particular diet at the moment, am 6 weeks off the cigarettes and in that time I have put on half a stone, so got up out of bed Monday morning and walked for an hour before work. Am hoping to walk 4/5 days a week and maybe eventually jog some of the way - am also hoping that the desire to eat healthier will get stronger the more I move (if that makes sense?)
Am almost afraid to take my measurements ....

fastapproachingfifty · 15/03/2012 16:07

Forgot to say that out of the last 4 mornings, I have walked 3 of them, with a rest day on Tuesday and am taking a rest day tomorrow morning, then it's back on with the trainers and out for a walk Saturday.

spicyorange · 22/03/2012 10:35

Hi fastapproachingfifty how are you doing this week. I have started to walk/jog for about 30 mins also doing shred still and aquafit. Did have to have a day off yesterday though as my poor body felt a bit battered so i am back on track today.

diet is ok did have a packet of crisps yesterday and felt really guilty lol so will slap my hand next time i feel like some.

OP posts:
MurtleTheTurtle · 28/03/2012 14:31

You are doing so well spicy! I am not doing so well. No matter how far I run and how well I do re: smaller portions, healthy options etc. I am just not shifting anything. AT ALL!! I am so frustrated and so upset.

I had my thyroid tested a year ago as the nurse couldn't believe how much I weigh compared to what I eat and how I exercise - it came back as normal.

I will not give up!

spicyorange · 06/04/2012 11:35

Hi murtle ive worked my backside off and am now in pain to prove it lol, im weighing in a 12s 1lb woohoo was up at 7am his morning out on my bike and have walked kids legs off this week with school being off.

Aqua fit is working wonders and im swimming as well heres to half a sone of by june.

Im using my fitness pal have you tried that is really good for counting calories.

Also are you holding water my friend suggested that i get some water ban tablets i havent go any yet but may try.
