The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Blimey nbee, you did well with the counting. You clearly have superior powers of concentration! I usually give up at about 280 when he starts talking about other stuff. I think to myself that if he isn't counting any more why should I?! What a rebel! Blush

You'll get the hang of the eating don't worry.Smile

KinkyDorito · 23/02/2012 17:52

You could well feel hungry soon after eating, especially if the portion you've just eaten is a lot less than what you'd normally get through nbee. Eat when you are hungry, as everyone else says, it will work and it will settle down.

usingapseudonym · 23/02/2012 18:59

Hmmm I've binge eaten chocolates quite a bit today and not sure why. I'm just so very tired which might have something to do with it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 23/02/2012 20:06

Great start nbee! You'll see it paying off soon.
I did a low carb diet for a while. I was evil the first few days. Blinding headache, mega fatigue and so vile to DH that I had to go to bed at 7.30pm! I eat potatoes, rice and some gf stuff like --scones and bread.
I've been running again :) I'm really getting into the swing of it. Did a shorter run tonight (about 3.5k). It's what I did initially that nearly killed me doing intervals one minute running, 1m30s walking! I ran all the way with ease. At this pace I could do the 10k in about 1h 20m but I've got 4 weeks so I reckon I can cut that time down. I've not eaten much today cos I've just not been hungry. Still understanding my body hunger indicators.

Neenook · 23/02/2012 21:53

Have been absolutely RUBBISH

Did really well today until I got home from work, fed DS's and then tucked into 1/2 packet of choccy digestives ShockBlush

I had actually been feeling loads better until I did that - why am I finding it so hard? I was doing so well and am now back up to 11st 5 Sad

nbee84 · 23/02/2012 22:05

I had a hot cross bun when I got in from shopping at 5pm as I was hungry. I then cooked dinner for dh, ds and myself for 7pm. My hunger scale was only a 5-6 though. Should I have eaten? What do you do if you don't feel truly hungry when you are serving a family meal?
Dinner tonight was jacket spud (with butter) caramelised onions, sweetcorn and 2 sausages. I dished up my normal sized portion, thinking that I would leave some on the plate but didn't actually feel full until I had eaten it all - but on the upside I haven't felt the need to eat anything else this evening.
Day out tomorrow - have made some mushroom soup to take to DMil's and we are out for a curry with friends in the eve. I'm thinking that with a curry you can serve yourself what you want rather than having a full meal on a plate that you end up scoffing the lot - and we never have pudding when we go out for a curry either.

Solo · 23/02/2012 22:38

Neenook sounds like to need to do some self appreciation in the mirror.

Evening all

I have had a good day Pauling and other stuff. I went to pizza hut for lunch and had the buffet. I didn't eat nearly as much as I normally do. Also I have hopefully (fingers crossed) found a new house. It's really close to where we are already and is lovely.

Ali my DD2 went through a stage where she was getting really upset when left at nursery but has been better for a little while, she is 3.6 by the way. This week she didn't even cry when I took her to gymnastics, which has to be a first! The thing that made me feel better was knowing she was fine within minutes of me leaving and she really enjoyed bring there. Also she goes to a preschool 1 day a week and has never been invited to a party and doesn't seem to have any friends there. She has friends at nursery so I'm not worried I just think she is a bit shy.

I have given up hot chocolate for lent, going well, and started doing the shred DVD everyday, not going well!

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 23/02/2012 23:06

Neenook I second what Solo says...do the mirror exercises. They work. I'm feeling bursting-out-of-my-skin-amazing at the moment (although I'm also doing Paul's Change Your Life In Seven Days, so it could be the additive effect).

Have you tried tapping? That works too, but the only problem is that when the urge to binge comes you don't actually want to do something that will stop the craving, even though you know it will work, because you just want that food so badly. But the tapping really does work. It's weird Confused.

Solo · 23/02/2012 23:19

I should try the tapping.

Lol solo!!! Morning all BTW !Smile Give us a few ideas from the Change yr life book then Mychild

KinkyDorito · 24/02/2012 08:38

Morning.

I haven't changed weight in over 2 weeks now in spite of following plan. Am feeling arsed off. Sad

I know it is a long slog. I know I feel better for it. I know weight that comes off slowly stays off better. I know all of this, but it doesn't stop me feeling disappointed, especially after my hiking expedition on Sunday.

I'm thinking of mixing up my food a bit as I do have a tendency to eat the same things, e.g. I have 2 slices w/meal toast with marmite for brekkie every day as I love it. Now I've had porridge with sunflower seeds and tsp honey. It does go against the grain a bit though, as I feel like I am now trying to diet rather than just eating what I like.

KinkyDorito · 24/02/2012 08:40

I started 'Change Your Life' and it's ace, but I decided 2 lots of meditation a day, and 2 lots of messages, was a lot to follow, and that I would just stick to thin for now. However, I do recommend it. Smile

ppeatfruit · 24/02/2012 08:48

Solo sorry Blush i didn't read that you'd got the Internal Exes book and it DOES take some getting into Grin DD2 thought it completely weird when she got to the monkey bit!! but if you get past that and look at the index for exes that apply to you then you can use it like a reference book IYSWM !!

I've started reading it right through and am doing the kidney exes which are AMAZING!!!!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/02/2012 09:54

Morning all, quick post as we are packing to head up to the venue for brother's wedding - eeeeek exciting! Grin

Have realised that all through this week which has been incredibly tough for me emotionally, I haven't turned to food, not once. Just wanted to write that down. Smile

crustyonion · 24/02/2012 10:00

The book has arrived from Amazon. The children are parked in front of Something Special. Let the brain training commence!

BigBoobiedBertha · 24/02/2012 10:17

Nice one Alibaba - Have a fantastic weekend. Grin

Kinky - it is fine not to lose. First of all you aren't putting on which is a big bonus and secondly, changing the way you behave is what it is all about and that won't happen over night. You are doing well with that especially since your head must be full of so much other stuff at the moment that I am slightly in awe that you can even contemplate this. Go look in the mirror and tell yourself you are amazing and go and remind yourself that we all think you are too.Smile

Plus the way I see it, if you are losing slowly (a good thing we are agreed) then even if you weight every two weeks you could still be affected by the fluctuations in weight we all get. It is possible you have really lost but you are having one of those days when the scales inexplicably go up a couple of lbs and tomorrow you might be down again but you won't know because tomorrow is not a weighing day. You will notice in two weeks though, I bet, because even your heavier days will be lower than your light days now. Iyswim.

Have a good day everybody

crustyonion · 24/02/2012 10:18

Forgot to say : morning everyone! Excuse my rudeness, bit over keen :)

BigBoobiedBertha · 24/02/2012 10:24

Keen if good Crusty. If you aren't all fired up and are doing this half heartedly it won't work. You need a bit of keen to get you through the miserable bits when you wonder why you are bothering and you could happily eat the largest bar of Diary Milk you can get your hand on (or whatever your favourite is) without coming up for air.

And good morning to you too!

nbee84 · 24/02/2012 10:44

The image of that Dairy Milk just made my stomach turn - I was visualising it yesterday coated in Cheddar cheese, which I hate! I've yet to be confronted with the real thing, so remains to be seen if it's worked Smile

Have a great day 'Pauling' everybody. x

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/02/2012 10:45

Meant to say, kinky it is fine not to lose. You have had a tough couple of weeks and to not gain through that is brilliant. Smile

KinkyDorito · 24/02/2012 10:45

I love you BBB Grin Thanks. You have cheered me right up!

Ali you've done superbly. Give yourself a huge pat on the back. If you can avoid food in times of crisis, then you are winning the battle Smile. Well done.

crusty hmm, interesting combination of PMK and Justin on the telly... Grin Enjoy your liberation.

ppeat can you link to book please?

KinkyDorito · 24/02/2012 10:46

X post Ali Thanks

Solo · 24/02/2012 12:44

Afternoon!

Pp is the book called 'The Complete System of Chinese Self Healing' ? Does your copy have a tree within an almost circle with Dr Stephen T. Chang at the bottom of the almost circle? If so, I find this book completely weird and difficult to put some of the exercises into practise. Or is it me?! Hmm

Ali hope the wedding goes well :) want photos please Grin

Crusty good for getting started.

Kinky ditto what has already been said. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Nbee I get a cold, wet feeling in my stomach when I think of muffins.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 24/02/2012 15:27

Solo there's no chinese in the title or picture of a tree in a circle of my copy that's strange isn't it? and Kinky the book is called (sorry i'm not good at links the computer always says "No" to me [grin!])

THE COMPLETE SYSTEM OF SELF HEALING

INTERNAL EXERCISES By Dr. Stephen T.Chang

         Published by Tao Publishing

As I said Kinks It is a bit weird but if you can get over that the exes. are good and they work for so many problems. There's one for liver problems I thought immed. of yr DD. 'cos what could be better than an easy massage to help her?!!

NB84 If you're not sure about being hungry it's an idea to have a cup of tea to keep you going (i always have 2 herbal t bags for flavour!)
