Oh bugger my "fat trousers" fit

I'm off out for lunch at friends and on getting ready I have discovered that my pair of GAP size 12 (really closer to 14 as their sizing is big imo) trousers are now a nice snug fit...oh good you may think....NO! They are my "fat" trousers bought in a rush to look smart at a funeral and they are supposed to be big and baggy!!

So Christmas feasting has clearly caught up with me and tomorrow I will be commencing my bootcamp back to a svelte size 10 in time for summer.

To kick start I will be:

  1. Starting the dreaded SHRED
  2. running 3 x per week
  3. cutting out all processed crap from diet
  4. drinking no alcohol til valentines day
  5. drinking lots and lots of water

Valentines day will be a day off and I will reassess my aims/goals and how it's all going then.

Feel free to join me Smile I'll weigh in tomorrow morning and then probably fridays (although I will obv be obsessively weighing every day in secret) and i'll probably boringly record food and exercise as it seems to help me stay on the straight and narrow!

Faux fox- you and me both. I am not in a place where I can ignore the creep any more.

I began recording food water and exercise yesterday. Like you I will shred (but aim for 4x p/week, actually utilise my exp gym membership and eat much better. I need to lose a good stone really.

Shall we be buddies?

FauxFox · 22/01/2012 17:45

Hi sassy yes that would be lovely Smile

See you tomorrow with my terrifying start weight Confused

FauxFox · 23/01/2012 07:36

Well I am 11st5 Sad

But next week I will weigh less Smile

Today I am having a hot water with lemon now then yoghurt and seeds for breakfast, ham and avocado salad for lunch and grilled mushrooms with a little stilton on and salad for tea so a low carb sort of a day.

I will also go for a run and do day 1 of the Shred.

See now i've written it down it will all actually happen! Magic!

FauxFox · 23/01/2012 13:24

Well I ran for half an hour then did Shred L1 D1 and i'm still alive! Eating as planned and I thought in the interests of seeing the visible results jillian promises I would measure so:
Waist 31"
Hips 42"
Thigh 24.5"

Shrink that Jillian!

Have eaten:-

Hot cross bun ( I know, but if I don't have some bread and sugar I will cave horrifically later Grin) and satsuma for breakfast
Banana and dry ryvita at 11
Big bowl of salad with a bit of cheese for lunch

Will have jacket pot and beans for dinner.

sassyTHEFIRST · 23/01/2012 16:08

Oh and stats are

Norks - 40 - enormous hate them
Waist - 30
Hips - 39

FauxFox · 23/01/2012 17:31

I have massive norks too - 32E but I like them...makes the rest of me look smaller < deluded >

Hope you feel better soon!

sassyTHEFIRST · 23/01/2012 18:35

Just did day 2 of the Shred - thighs are a bit ouchy but not too bad.

Today I will be mostly eating yoghurt and nuts for breakfast, mushroom omelette and salad for lunch and fish with steamed green veg for tea.

OP posts:
FauxFox · 25/01/2012 07:23

30 min run followed by day 3 of the Shred this morning - achy legs this morn but not too bad. Am very determined to do the full 30 day shred - excited to see what the results will be Smile

Today I plan to eat yoghurt and almonds for breakfast, baked beans for lunch and smoked salmon and avocado salad for dinner...yum!

Think I need to make a load of soup for lunches - a hot lunch feels more satisfying when it's so chilly...carrot maybe Hmm

You are doing v v v well! Can't say I am quite as dedicated as you but I have eaten way less and will shred tonight. Will do L2 as I have been doing it off and on for a while. Plus gym tomorrow while dds are at brownies.

FauxFox · 26/01/2012 07:45

Hi sassy have you completed the Shred before? Did it make a difference?? I did about 10 days on it last Summer then life got in the way but am determined to see it through this time! So Day 4 level 1 shred this morning and meals will be: Yog and nuts, sm salmon and scrambled eggs, chicken casserole.

I'm going to weigh in tomorrow morning and on Fridays from now on...eek!

OP posts:
FauxFox · 26/01/2012 07:57

Oh I should also confess to eating choc last night but was only a couple of squares of very dark choc and I thought better a little treat then than a massive cave in later! I don't want to get into a "diet" mentality counting cals etc, I just aim to cut out cake/crisps/crap and for now the main bread/pots/pasta/rice carbs until I get to my happy weight Smile

OP posts:
sassyTHEFIRST · 26/01/2012 20:23

I've been doing shred since early dec but got stuck at L2 - I just can't seem to move on from it! It is getting easier but still can't complete it comfortably. Mind you have only been doing it every 5 days or so since Xmas so that might explain lack of progress!

FauxFox · 27/01/2012 07:51

I think I tried Level 2 once last time...I'm quite keen on level 1 though, I like that the first circuit is the hardest for me (can just about do all the pressups in 'lady' style now) as my arms are weaker than my legs so after that's done it seems to go quite easily. I'm only using 2lb weights mind you but that suits me for now.

Weighed in at 11st this morning Grin 5lb off since monday! I know alot will be water as i've stopped drinking booze and eating processed food but still v. encouraging! Am off for a 30 min run followed by D5 L1 Shred this morning and food will be grapefruit for breakfast, sausages and salad for lunch and indian takeaway (tandori meat, salad and veg curry) for dinner - it is friday after all!!

Please can I join? I feel such an affinity with this thread. I had a similar awakening at a similar time and I am doing JM DVDs to try to do something about it. I am about 3 pounds heavier than you. I'm impressed at your weightloss so far! Well done!

FauxFox · 27/01/2012 10:36

Course you can steala how is it going so far? I've done my run and shred...had a quick measure an have lost an inch off my waist too! Really motivating...off to eat grapefruit Grin

FauxFox · 27/01/2012 10:54

Just treated myself to a new sports bra - i've only got one and washing it in time to wear the next day is a hassle...it's pink and black...I think I will need deserve regular fitness/beauty related rewards for being so diligent Grin

OP posts:
Steala · 27/01/2012 11:16

thank you! I've lost 3 pounds in a week, done L1 shred twice, L2 once, BFBM once and NMTZ once. I like to mix things up because at the first sign of boredom, I cave in. I feel possibly a teeny tiny bit smaller but nothing as dramatic as an inch of my waist (awe). Will probably do L1 shred again later. L2 is horrible and L3 is beyond me currently but a goal to aspire to.

Steala · 27/01/2012 22:45

Well, Im glad I joined. It was the only thing that could possibly have convinced me to shred at 10 in the evening after a hideous day. I'm glad of it. I feel a bit better about things 20 minutes later.

FauxFox · 28/01/2012 08:14

Well done steala I just got up at 7am on a Saturday before my kids to Shred Shock my son came and joined in a bit, I think he thought it was like a grown up version of "copy me do" because he got the video of the Tweenies doing that song up on the computer to watch!

Today I am eating yog and seeds for breakfast, soup for lunch and tea is at a party so I will just do my best and not stress too much. There will be cake. I will eat 1 small slice instead of 2 big ones and it will be fine Grin. Weekends are always more tricky so as long as I keep up with the shredding i'm happy. I can do the hard version of all level 1 except the pressups now, def feels easier though I still get sweaty...am pondering on getting some heavier weights??

OP posts:
Steala · 28/01/2012 08:38

More affinity! I'm going to a party tonight too (and it's very very rare for me!). I quite like the idea of relaxing the regime slightly at weekends (as long as I don't interpret that as a reason to go mad) because I give in when I feel deprived. If there is a reprieve in sight a few days ahead, I am much more likely to stick to it. What weights are you using? I've just gone up to 2.5kg (from 1.5) for level one for all but the side lunge. I find those impossible! As for press ups, I can't even do a Natalie one. I have to put my knees under my hips. We all have to start somewhere. But I certainly feel them so I hope I'm getting stronger. The rest is OK now.

rarebreed · 28/01/2012 08:55

Hello! Do you mind if i join?

Am 5'8'', had my son 4 months ago and need to lose 1 and half stone to fit into my wedding dress (bought before i was pregnant) by the end of March. I'm not getting married til September but i desperately want to try it on again Blush

Need to get back to a size 12 which is about right for my height, and tone my awful stomach.

FauxFox · 28/01/2012 09:13
