Oh bugger my "fat trousers" fit

I'm off out for lunch at friends and on getting ready I have discovered that my pair of GAP size 12 (really closer to 14 as their sizing is big imo) trousers are now a nice snug fit...oh good you may think....NO! They are my "fat" trousers bought in a rush to look smart at a funeral and they are supposed to be big and baggy!!

So Christmas feasting has clearly caught up with me and tomorrow I will be commencing my bootcamp back to a svelte size 10 in time for summer.

To kick start I will be:

  1. Starting the dreaded SHRED
  2. running 3 x per week
  3. cutting out all processed crap from diet
  4. drinking no alcohol til valentines day
  5. drinking lots and lots of water

Valentines day will be a day off and I will reassess my aims/goals and how it's all going then.

Feel free to join me Smile I'll weigh in tomorrow morning and then probably fridays (although I will obv be obsessively weighing every day in secret) and i'll probably boringly record food and exercise as it seems to help me stay on the straight and narrow!

Well done Faux!

FauxFox · 31/01/2012 12:31

Have you got any events soon that you are looking forward to facing as a svelte and slim person? I've got a low key eve out on 23rd Feb (should be shredded by then Grin) am going to a gig on Sun 4th March and have a night out in London planned for mid April...determined to be under 10st and gorgeous for that one!! I find it v. motivating to think about these dates and what i'd like to wear when the going gets tough during a DVD or run.

Do you think it's possible to lose nearly 2 stone by the end of March/beginning of April? Also going to Ladies Day at Ascot in June for my friends surprise hen do. Smile

I am going to buy a massive hat Grin

FauxFox · 31/01/2012 15:41

Well that's 8 weeks so at 2lb a week you would get 16lbs off so if you were really serious and stayed on the bandwagon I think you could lose a little more and get close to that rare - go for it! And also Envy at Ladies Day...i've always wanted to go to Ascot...

Well done! I've just done day 8. I've been doing it intermittently for 2 years but I'm not sure I've ever managed 8 days in a row before. Weigh in tomorrow. I hope it's working!

FauxFox · 02/02/2012 09:26

Day1 Level2 done - it was HARD!

Food will be yogurt and seeds, trout and salad, quiche and soup.

Where are you rare? Hope you aren't phoning it in Grin

Well done, Faux. I hate L2 - too many plank-type things for me. I need to do it though, I am feeling too comfortable on Level 1. Not physically! Just that I know what's coming, what she's going to say next, how many more repetitions before I get to stop... The familiarity probably means I don't push myself enough.

I lost 2.5 pounds this week and my husband has noticed a difference (I haven't told him I'm trying to lose weight) so I'm pleased.

FauxFox · 02/02/2012 12:30

Well done steala that's great! Smile

Come on join me on the dark side that is level 2 tomorrow - dare you! Grin My legs are like lead after doing it this morning!!

I ache. I want to miss a day of shredding. But I won't.

I cheated and ate my bodyweight in chocs and wine yesterday. Boo.

I will do better today and weigh in tomorrow.

I am tired can you tell?

FauxFox · 03/02/2012 09:38

Shred D2 L2 done - v. hard. I did better on the plank jacks and plank twist things though. The plank squat thrust things were a bit lame cos I did it barefoot and kept slipping. Trainers on tomorrow then.

I have so much to do today Sad this week has flown!

I'm thinking very hard about your challenge. The problem is that shred of any sort will involve undressing in order to put on a sports bra. I'm not sure I can face that today. Brrrr

Steala · 03/02/2012 09:41

Oh, while I was moaning about the cold, you got on and did it! Well done. I'm in awe.

FauxFox · 03/02/2012 10:02

Go on steala you know you want to!

I just had porridge for breakfast as a reward Smile I think i'm going to eat a few more carbs during the day as i've been feeling a little odd, and of course my sugar binge yesterday was maybe a sign i've been a bit too strict...

OP posts:
Steala · 03/02/2012 12:22

you're so persuasive, Faux. I thought nothing would persuade me to shred today but I have just done level 2.

I hate it. I can't hold a plank at all so the walking push ups, plank jacks, plank twists and squat thrusts are out. The abs exercises with weights and V-raises are too hard for me and I can only do one double jump rope. So my total work out is about 10 minutes. Will I improve quickly, do you think, or would I be better off going back to level 1?

I can't low carb at all. It makes me dizzy and depressed. I will never try it again. Are you feeling better after porridge?

FauxFox · 03/02/2012 12:29

I do feel better (eating a cheese sandwich for lunch too!) I have done low carb with high fat in the past which does drop weight but feels so wrong...low carb and low fat seems to make me dizzy when I stand up quickly and lack concentration! not good...am going to eat healthily but not 'diet' as such as I think with the exercise it's too much!

Not sure what you should do re shred...on my plank exercises yesterday my bum was stuck up in the air so not very planky but still good for the cardio...try that maybe? Today I was better...I think sadly practice and repetition might be the key to improving!

Oh lord...I think I have tonsilitis, I have so much work to do this week before the kids break up for half term it's not even funny and last night DS kept me awake from 4.30am so I had approx 4 hours sleep - aaaaaargh!

Realistically I think i'll be back after half term, still going to try and eat healthily and go on a few runs but the way I feel today Jillian L2 would just about finish me off! Hope you are doing better than me Sad
