I started being watchful and mindful last Monday and today I woke up 4.5 pounds lighter.

60 more to go Hmm Grin

Anyone want to weigh in on a Monday?

ME ME ME! I started last week too (Weight Watchers but by myself - no meetings) and today I am 3lb lighter! [whispers 9lb more to go . . . but a very stubborn 9lb]

LaurieFairyCake · 09/01/2012 19:45

Well done you !

Yes! I have started my diet today. Need to lose at least 2 stone! Am going to get that 30 day shred workout DVD when I get paid too and hopefully start on that next week.
Today I weighed 12.5 and none of my clothes fit Blush

LaurieFairyCake · 09/01/2012 20:19

I've also ordered the shred but after seeing the other thread I'm slightly scared Grin

Are you doing it on your own lauriefairycake or with a slimming club? I've done WW in the past but only used it for the weigh ins and didn't bother counting points

LaurieFairyCake · 09/01/2012 20:34

On my own - 1056 calories a day (food focus).

My problem will be sticking to it as I'm massively lazy and have a very sedentary job but I'm 40 in a few months so I decided to really go for it.

I'm overweight because I do no exercise and can only eat about 1500 calories before putting on weight. An extra 100 calories a day over 15 years (with intermittent dieting) and voila! 5 extra stone.

How are you doing it?

Hello all

I am not brave enough to reveal all but I have 2 stone to lose. I started when DH brought some new scales. They show the body fat and water %. I was in Shock.

I don't have a diet as such but I have a plan:

  1. Every time I want to eat something I shouldn't I am going to drink a glass of water
  2. I am allowed a treat every two days (curly whirly as its 2 weight watchers points so it can't be that bad)
  3. Keep active (currently I love Zumba)
  4. Reduce bread intake
  5. Have a soup for lunch or jacket potato and then a proper low fat dinner.
  6. Keep a sense of humour.
Shutupanddrive · 09/01/2012 22:01

I have more of a plan like jollydiane rather than counting calories!
Breakfast - one slice of toast instead of two, or fruit if I'm feeling really good!
Lunch - homemade soup, salad or similar
Dinner - healthy meal with lots of veg/salad to fill up

No alcohol in the week
Some sort of exercise every day
Cut down on carbs
Small things like low fat spread, semi skimmed milk etc
Don't eat kids leftovers!

jollydiane · 09/01/2012 22:26

What is the Shred may I ask?

LaurieFairyCake · 09/01/2012 22:29

Some evil exercise DVD by jillian michaels - loooooots of threads on how hard it is. Mines not arrived yet.

Oh, well I'll wait to see how you get on. Right at half speed your'll be fine

GlueSticksEverywhere · 10/01/2012 14:17

Shutupanddrive Why not have the fruit and the one slice of bread? I do that and it makes me less likely to snack plus it's healthy.

Shutupanddrive · 10/01/2012 15:18

gluesticks I probably will do that some days, especially weekends. Am trying to be extra good in the week so can treat myself a bit more at weekend without ruining the diet

TooManyButtons · 10/01/2012 15:21

Ooh can I join? I started Slimming World for the millionth time yesterday. I'm hoping to lose lots of weight for my holiday to Turkey in August. I do like SW as it's basically healthy eating. I've been like a hoover with teeth all Christmas so am really craving fruit and veg!

LaurieFairyCake · 16/01/2012 10:23

Ok, 2 more down for me this morning Smile that's 6.5 cumulative

Y'all???

PerditaMcLeod · 16/01/2012 10:30

Well done Laurie Smile

I started using MFP last Monday and weighed in this morning 2kg lighter than I was last week Smile

Managed to stay off the wine (mostly!) which helped a lot I think. Another 12 to go!

Hopefully this will motivate me to get myself down the gym!

lovechoc · 16/01/2012 10:43

Will join for next Monday if that's ok? 13st I was on 30 Dec 2011 (2st to lose - giving myself 6-9 months to do this). Have not weighed myself since. Have still been having the odd snack but doing exercise 3 to 4 times a week (on to week 2 now!). Mix of walking, exercise bike and lane swimming every other day. Everyone is doing really well so far from reading the thread. It helps us all to keep motivated. Will check in again soon.

GlueSticksEverywhere · 16/01/2012 11:22

Well done Laurie!

I've lost 2lb so 5lb in total! Smile

LingDiLong · 16/01/2012 12:05

I started 2 weeks ago and lost 2lb last week and 5lb this week! Am chuffed to bits. I'm using My Fitness Pal, also doing the Shred DVD and running (alternate days I should add not both every day!).

Well done to all the other 'losers'! Laurie, my husband lost 2.5 stone using Food Focus, it really worked for him.

LaurieFairyCake · 16/01/2012 15:07

Oooh well done all of you and welcome to lovechoc and her first week.

We're all going to be even more beautiful and lithe by Easter Smile

GlueSticksEverywhere · 23/01/2012 14:31

Shit! Lost 0 this week! Not a thing!

I can only have about 27pp a day with no weeklies whatsoever otherwise I don't lose weight. This week due to a little bit of party food and a very small Indian (the food not a person) I had the full 29 a day plus 13 weeklies and my weight stayed the same. It's so unfair that other people can eat so much!

Kendodd · 23/01/2012 14:37

Can I join in? I'll go and weigh myself in a minute, not sure my scales are very accurate though. Still as long as they are consistently inaccurate I don't suppose it matters Smile

I'll just finish this chocolate eclair first Blush
Will start the diet right afterwards.

Kendodd · 23/01/2012 14:39

Does anyone know of a website where I can plot my weight and measurements for free each week?

member · 23/01/2012 14:43

I started healthier eating last week. I've got so much to loose that there is scope to cut down further with skimmed milk/decreased portion sizes etc. Part of my problem was not eating till about 2pm so the majority of my calorie intake was later in the day. Anyway, I've lost 3lb in the first week.

GlueSticksEverywhere · 23/01/2012 14:44

Mine aren't accurate either but like you say are consistently inaccurate so doesn't matter!

I would be interested in that website as well. I have drawn a little chart with weeks along the bottom and weight up the side. It's on graph paper and each line is one half pound. It's really tiny so I can fold it up in my purse and carry it around for incentive. (Most likely easier to draw on a computer but my printer isn't working!)
