GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

Littlemiss, when I was SS, if I felt I was struggling, I'd just take myself off to bed, providing of course the kids were in bed asleep, I know thats not always possible. I just found taking myself away from the temptation was far easier than trying to resist it!

Day 4 should definitely become easier for you, its around Day 4/5 that most people are in ketosis, and this is when the hunger goes and you really start to feel good. If you continue to struggle, you might want to think about SS+, which just means you get to have a very small high protein once a day, I know Cockneydad is doing this and has really helped him.

Mumof3, 2lbs isn't too bad at all, and that should drop off easily next week.

Busy weekend ahead for me, and eating out tomorrow evening.

Arrrggghh had a bit of a slip up. No excuses I knew it was wrong before I did it but something took over me at teatime. Very very tired after family musical beds last night then a very busy day topped off by ds having 2 friends over tonight for tea which was very stressful and chaotic. What I should have done was logged on here instead of eating what I did. I did do a run this morning (followed by a charity coffee morning at which there were loads of home baked goods that i managed to resist) so hope the slip up hasn't totally ruined everything.

Instead of falling into the depths of depression and eating my way through to bedtime though I'm going to stop now get an early night and then get straight back to it tommorrow and maybe do another run. Still very annoying as at day 4 I was probably about to hit ketosis now it will be bloody Monday at least before I get there.

Have those of you that have been on it a while had any slip ups? If it's just a one meal slip up as opposed to days does it still mean you put weight back on?

sarahsoo · 09/03/2012 19:07

Also meant to say well done littlemiss for resisting last night. I can guarantee you will feel better than I do after my mini binge....(though at least it has reminded me how rubbish I feel after doing it!!!)

Overtiredmum · 09/03/2012 19:19

Hi Sarah, don't panic, one small slip-up will not do any irreparable damage! Just get straight back to it and you'll be fine. It really does get easier, I know its hard to believe it, but it really does.

ohbloodynora · 11/03/2012 07:52

Well, as per usual, I managed to get to the end of day 2 then spoiled it by bingeing, I could cry, I just have no willpower - so angry with myselfAngry and :(

gloriana · 11/03/2012 20:51

I have found it hard this weekend too - went out for chinese meal on Friday and had to have some of the food as smelt so gorgeous. But I did manage to not eat any carbs and mainly ate fish and broccoli. Then went out again on Sat where I definitely did eat far too much and I had some bread (Shock). Why do I do this? And I just can't stop eating it either Sad Just have to hope that it hasn't made too much of a difference overall. Oh and forgot to mention the wine that I had. My goal is looking like I will never get there.

Come back willpower - where have you gone?!

maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavour · 11/03/2012 21:00

Hi everyone, just popping in again to say hello, I was on the thread earlier but I don't post on here often

Sorry to hear some of you are struggling Sad please don't feel bad though, these diets are fantastic but they are hard...if it was easy everyone would do it! I'm sure you'll all get there Grin

I'm just finishing week 10, weigh in day tomorrow, think it's going to be a low week this week but I don't mind, just going to keep my head down and keep powering on Grin

Has anyone heard how goingforgoalweight is getting on? Hope she's ok, she was doing so well

Have you got a magic wand then?

mumof3boys01 · 12/03/2012 15:18

Sound great almost to good to be true tlc, spill then and let us into the secret Hmm.

mumof3boys01 · 12/03/2012 15:23

Knew i would find the weekend hard again so have decided to go on to SS+ hope this helps me totally messing it up all the time.
How was every one's weekend.

Overtiredmum · 12/03/2012 18:57

Hi all, sorry you all seem to be struggling. My scales don't seem to be responding too great this week, although official weigh in tomorrow, but my clothes are definitely getting there. I tried on a pair of jeans today that I couldn't do up last week and they are fitting me perfectly!

I have decided that tomorrow will be my last visit to my CDC for a couple of weeks, as I want to go it alone, especially since I will be away for a week over Easter. I will be calorie counting at 1200 a day, so have just registered with My Fitness Pal to help me, but I hope you won't mind if I still come on here to see how you all are every day?

What was with the deleted message then?? Another dis-believer??

gloriana · 12/03/2012 20:21

Have put on .4 of a lb this week so obviously was very bad this weekend Sad. Must try and get back on the straight and narrow otherwise I will never lose the last 11 lbs. Am going to be strict with myself about chewing gum - have decided that it just makes me very hungry and so I am more likely to be bad.

Must keep powering on and get right back up again ...

cockneydad · 13/03/2012 12:46

hi all - currently on holiday with in-laws - weigh in tomorrow. Been doing more of a low carb diet today, had a very bad throat infection last few days. Hopefully won't do too much damage.

goingbacktowork · 13/03/2012 13:10

I have had a collapse today and eaten! tin of tuna, bit of beef, 2 half eaten soft boiled eggs - not good is it. What can I eat that is not goign to blow this totally? I know I definitely eat when stressed but had huge build up over last 2 weeks and it was just too much! But this is only a temporary failure.

Overtiredmum · 13/03/2012 19:27

Hi Going, I wouldn't worry too much. Ok, so you have eaten BUT at least it was all protein, and food you would have found in the book! Try not to beat yourself up about it, its done - start afresh tomorrow x

cockneydad · 13/03/2012 19:56

Hey Going - last couple of days have been hard for me too - mainly just had extra protein, as I have been quite unwell and was struggling. Don't think I've lost much this week (like last) - will give it another week or so and see what happens. I'm beginning to miss my low carb diet days when I could actually eat something.

Overtiredmum · 13/03/2012 20:10

Hope you're feeling better soon Cockneydad. You may be surprised at your weigh-in, one bad week can be followed by a good week, even if you don't feel like you have lost much. And if there isn't much going on on the scales, you may be surprised at the inch-loss.

I had my weigh-in today, another 1.6lbs, and half an inch off my waist (am now 28 inches!!). I am now following a mixture of Step 4 and Step 5, although am predominantly calorie counting, and will still have my evening bar - they are too lush to give up right now Grin. I will be heading back to my CDC in 2 weeks for a weigh-in and some more bars. I must say though, the first two days of calorie counting, am aiming for 1200, but am strugglign to get passed 1,000, and thats with my evening bar.

goingbacktowork · 14/03/2012 14:04

Starving here but all I can say is let's just carry on carrying on - whatever we are doing is a step in the right direction (even if I have about 10 miles to go!Grin)

cockneydad · 14/03/2012 18:54

thanks overtired - 3.5 lb off this week - I was surprised - not bad given that I have been rather unwell. Will try to do as well over the next week.

Overtiredmum · 14/03/2012 19:44

Well done Cockneydad - see!!! I told you, you would be surprised! Just sometimes over-eating can give your metabolism a boost, although don't do it too often, because it can come back to bite you on the bottom!! Grin

littlemisscambridgediet · 14/03/2012 20:13

Hiya :) I had a blonde moment because I've been looking on here and seeing no replys then see I was still on page 26 not 27 derr! Cannot wait. For next weeks weigh in just need to get it over with soo if I focus itl be over with befor I no it. My boyfriends mum is also starting it soo ill tell her to come on this forum :d xxxxx

ohbloodynora · 15/03/2012 16:02

RIGHT THAT'S IT!!!!
I'm on day 2 now, have managed to get this far without eating the fridge, think I'll be ok for rest of today but tomorrow may be a struggle..I've got to keep going. Can anyone tell me about when ketosis kicks in? Please let it be tomorrow!!

Overtiredmum · 15/03/2012 17:37

Ketosis usually kicks in around Day 4 I'm afraid, but obviously it is different for everybody. You will still hit ketosis if you eat only protein, if you are struggling, keep a pack of pre-cooked chicken breast in your fridge, if you think you are going to stay, have a slice.

Just try and remember that CD is based on high protein, low carb, so providing no carbs, you won't do that much damage. SS+ is a good step to follow if you struggle and still need something to eat.
