2012 - New Years Day - The Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - Weight loss

GoingForGoalWeight · 11/12/2011 23:04

I weigh over 25 stones. I expect to weigh more than this on New Years Day after all the festive scoff is over. Xmas Grin

I am going to start the Cambridge Diet - Sole Source - on New Years Day.

I have found my Consultant and we have met, she lost 13 stones in 9 months and has kept the weight off for over 7 years!

4 Cambridge choc mint shakes per day.

3 - 4 litres of water per day.

Anybody else planning on starting The Cambridge Diet in 2012? Come join me and we can support each other.

Xmas Smile

All good here - where is GFGW though?

Getting quite a few comments now which is really nice. Makes all the hard work seem worthwhile Grin haven't been on the scales though so not sure what the figure is. Will be tough this weekend as less to keep me occupied...

Overtiredmum · 24/02/2012 22:42

Well done Gloriana. I'm the opposite, I too don't have much on this weekend, but it means without going out for meals etc, I can really be good. I am finding that I am getting more hungry though, think I have drunk 4 litres of sparkling water so far today!!

I have a free pass for a couple of hours tomorrow morning, no DH, no DC, so I am going to start stocking up my smaller Grin wardrobe!

Have a good weekend all, and keep up the good work!

cockneydad · 27/02/2012 07:32

Morning all, going OK here, hope you are all well !

magpiegem · 27/02/2012 12:00

Hi
I have just started the CD and i am on day 3 so far so good but i think today is the hardest day so far. Does it get easier.
I am 13st and would ideally like to lose about 3

Hope you are all doing well x

cockneydad · 27/02/2012 16:13

HI Magpie - day 3 was the worst by far - I'm on week 3 now - it gets easier !

magpiegem · 27/02/2012 17:06

Hi Cockneydad
thanks for your message im sure it will just feeling really hungry today. How are you doing on the diet!

Overtiredmum · 27/02/2012 17:35

Greetings all. Hope everyone is doing OK, we seem to have lost a few people over the last week or so.

Had a good weekend, although my scales don't seem to have moved at all Sad but my clothes are still getting looser, so something is obviously happening. Weigh-in tomorrow.

cockneydad · 27/02/2012 18:46

I'm coping with it - I do eat a little extra lean meat during the day, but I have managed to shift 16 pounds in just over 3 weeks, so I am quite pleased !

Overtiredmum · 27/02/2012 19:35

Well done Cockneydad, thats great. How are you feeling in yourself?

I am moving up to Step 3 tomorrow, and actually feel quite nervous.

cockneydad · 27/02/2012 22:18

Feeling pretty good thanks overtiredmum, not sure I could go without my little low carb extras, but I will if the weight loss slows down / stops. Definitely feeling slimmer, clothes a bit looser etc. Just need to keep going ! Good luck with stage 3 !

Overtiredmum · 28/02/2012 17:55

Hi all! Well, theres me saying yesterday no move in the scales - am down 3.5lbs Grin. Am really pleased, so thats 25.5lbs down in 7 weeks.

Started Step 3 today and it was strangely pleasing to now it was costing me less money Grin

Stick with it guys, it is so worth it. I have honestly never felt so good, and am looking forward to my holiday at Easter, and to the summer!

Hows everyone else? Cockney, we seem to be keeping the thread going for now.

gloriana · 28/02/2012 21:53

Hi all, I'm still here but finding it difficult to get on the web what with work and kids and an event I'm organising for Friday night. I had weigh in last night and had lost 4 lbs since last week so am really pleased. I have less than a stone to go Grin I am on Step 2 and really liking it so much more. People keep telling me that I look really well and to be honest, I feel really well. Can't believe that on 810 cals, I can feel really energised and have lots of motivation.

Welcome Magpiegem! Keep up the good work - it really is worth it and you are past the hardest bit. Keep drinking loads and loads of water if you can. It is fairly hideous but we can all achieve our goals if we stick (roughly - Cockneydad!) to the diet.

cockneydad · 01/03/2012 07:33

Morning all - if anyone is out there ! Tomorrow will be 1 month since I started CD - so far 19 pounds down and counting !

Overtiredmum · 01/03/2012 17:34

I'm still here!

Well done, thats great - you must feel so much better too!

I am feeling good, being on Step 3 now I was worried, but I am not tempted by anything I shouldn't have and am determined!

Hope everyone else is OK x

Bytheseashore · 01/03/2012 17:53

Hi,

I started doing SS on Monday but I'm finding today really hard. I've been drinking a lot of water but I'm finding it hard to stop myself from wanting to pick at food. Cooking my kids dinner today was so hard!
I started at 13st7 but I need to lose about 3 stone and now I'm starting to doubt if I will ever be able to do it :( does it get easier?

cockneydad · 01/03/2012 18:26

Hi Bytheseashore - it does get easier - if you are really struggling, maybe ask your consultant about sole source plus, it isn't as hard as sole source and works well for most people.

gloriana · 01/03/2012 21:17

Hi Bytheseashore, I think that you just have to try and distract yourself. Drink water, drink fizzy water with the flavouring, treat yourself to a cup of tea or black coffee with sweetener and most of all you have to think that this is worth it and that you can do it!

I have found today harder than most and have been really hungry but I have my little routine of what I eat and when to look forward to and I just have to think that I don't need to eat the food, it is not about hunger as I am eating enough to keep me going.

Hope that helps a little. Stick with it and let us know how you get on!

Cockney - congrats on your month anniversary and losing 19 lbs! That is seriously impressive!

zaraNrubysmummy · 01/03/2012 22:43

ohbloodynora · 05/03/2012 17:13

Hi everyone,

I posted a while ago on this thread to say I too was starting ss....I didn't!! I was so hungry I fell at the first hurdle and ate the fridge :(
Anyway, back on day 1 now, going ok, though I am hungry, drank loads of water and went for a walk when it got really bad.
I am desperately trying to lose weight, I recently founf out I have gallstones so I would like to get to a more sensible weight before I have surgery....

sarahsoo · 05/03/2012 17:51

Hi everyone,

Just found this thread (unfortunately an hour too late as after starting SS this morning and managed up until 4.30pm I've let myself down and had a blow out....). All is not lost though - I'm going to get right back on the horse again tomorrow morning and feeling more optimistic after finding a lot of inspiration here.

I'm 16.1 lbs 5th 7.....yo yo'ed for most of my adult life but have surpassed myself in the last 20 months going from 10st 10 (my ideal weight) up to current weight. Arrrggghhh. Have finally admitted to self/DH/mum that I suffer from compulsive overeating disorder and have taken steps towards getting therapy. I have to get some of is weight off quickly though as it's destroying what little is left of my self esteem!!!

Got a lovely CD counsellor and everyone that knows about it is supporting me...no more excuses...here's to a full day tomorrow...

ohbloodynora · 05/03/2012 18:09

Hi Sarah,

I just wanted to say I know where you're coming from. since I had my daughter, I've put on 5 stone in under 3 years and I was already a little overweight anyway. I also suffer with an eating disorder, it has ranged from undereating when I was a teenager, but now I compulsively overeat. I am waiting for an appointment from a CBT counsellor.
I am hoping this will help me address my issues with food...
