ditto tamba - i used to survive on a piece of toast all day until tea time and i have managed to soar weight wise.... now im trying to eat healthily and during the day, im starving constantly!

exercise isnt easy for me what with 2 young kiddies - and especially as 10 week old rebecca is poorly - the most exercise im doing is pacing the floor with her!

omtmum · 05/01/2006 19:52

Ok so today I had a bagel with jam and no butter for breakfast then helped at preschool all morning (and refused a biscuit!).

Lunch was a ham sandwich and masses of salad and a banana and have just had a burger in a bun with homemade salsa and yet more salad. Managed to resist the glass of wine from the bottle DH opened so feeling very virtuous.

Hopefully the pounds will start to shift before my resolve weakens and that will give me more resolve if you see what I mean.

Well on a goodness scale of 1-10, I'd say I've been about a 7 today

Foodwise, I've had -

Cup of tea
Shredded wheat with skimmed milk
3 x ryvita with cottage cheese
Slice of lemon cake I made with DD (bad I know but I had my piece before the syrup and icing went on)
Ham salad for tea with about 4 oven chips
About a litre of water - not great but a litre more than I drank yesterday

BUT the really good news is I did the Davina Power of 3 video workout with DD this afternoon whilst DS was napping. Felt like I must have worked off the whole stone I'm trying to loose.

Also realised my pelvic floor muscles are not as good as I'd been kidding myself they were since DS was born All that jumping around really caused quite a reaction !!

Children are all tucked up in bed so off to make some soup now - broccoli and stilton and then do ironing to burn more calories (hopeful emoticon)

bubblerock · 05/01/2006 20:19
  • How come you're still leaving me out? I emailed right at the beginning and posted stats and my email address on here
TambaTheDragonSlayer · 05/01/2006 20:20

well i have just had my healty dinner (tuna and rice again!) but the thing thats getting to me is -

I have a multi pack of mini chedders, 5 selection boxes, a box of thorntons, a huge stack of shortbread (dh got given it from work) Stacks of crisps (he works at walkers) and 2 tubs of hagan das left over from christmas.

I cant throuw it out as thats not fair on dh or the kids but its making my carrot sticks seem less and less appealing...

busywizzy · 05/01/2006 20:25

Bubblerock, you're definately on the chart as I've seen your name. If you CAT me your e-mail, I'll send it on.

bubblerock · 05/01/2006 20:28

If you could busy, that would be great - my email's bubblerockjl25 at aol.com thanks

busywizzy · 05/01/2006 20:31

Bubblerock, I've just e-mailed it so let me know if you get it.

DustAnyone · 05/01/2006 20:46

Ok, have been really good today and feeling very pleased with myself!

Breakfast: small bowl of sultana bran
Mid-morning: banana
Lunch: wafer thin ham + salad sandwich, 2 satsumas, WW yoghurt
snack: 4 ryvitas with ham and tomato
Dinner: jacket spud (no butter) with sweetcorn and tuna.

I weighed EVERYTHING and still have enough calories for a Curly Wurly (thats gonna be my chocolate fix) but I think I am too stuffed after my potato!

DustAnyone · 05/01/2006 20:47

Forgot to add..... loads of salad with potato to make it seem like a huge meal!

Loobz · 05/01/2006 20:49

Thanks UCM - got mine too and my weight is correct (unfortunately - wish it was 3 stones lighter)
Have had a good week so far but have a great motivator - pain Losing weight had better help this

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/01/2006 20:51

what do you girls think about a recipe thread?!

not only have i posted my veggie pasta on here, i thought others could share their low-fat healthy meals so we can all get a bit of inspiration and not get bored with the same crap day in day out!

DustAnyone · 05/01/2006 20:53

Sounds like a good idea to me!

I'd like to make some low fat soups.... would love some recipes for those.

bubblerock · 05/01/2006 20:58

Thanks busy - I got mail

Has anyone bought in healthy stuff like salad, crackers, branflakes etc and found that the kids home in on it???? Why does a boring box of branflakes suddenly look more appealing to my 6 year old than toast and marmalade or sugar puffs??? Not to mention the pile of chocolate left from xmas!!! Of course I can't say no you can't have it, you must have the yummy unhealthy stuff, can I - how bad does that sound??

LEAVE my rabbit food alone!!!!!

Just coming here to report what I've eaten today, ooh, I do like reading what people are eating!

2 pieces white bread toast with olive spread and marmite (bad, prob 350 odd cals?)
an apple
a Pret a Manger avocado, tomato and mozzarella salad (365 cals)
Pret parsnip, carrot and beetroot vegetable crisps (125cal)
Strawberry smoothie (105 cal)
half a Starbucks skinny carrot cake (100 cal)
half a portion of Starbucks fruit salad
a yellow pepper
quarter pot of reduced fat red pepper hummus (150 ish cal)
tablespoon of carrot and parsnip pate, prob same 150 ish cal
2 tomatoes
Balsamic dressing (50 cal, some olive oil in it)
an apple

so I reckon that's a good load of fruit and veg, plus I have walked at least half an hour today and no booze! Thanks for listening!

myturn · 05/01/2006 22:03

I've been SO good today. But dh is away to get something incredibly fattening from the takeaway and I am very tempted to give in. Plus there is a bottle of wine sitting with my name on it... why is it so hard to find some self control in the evenings?

niccick · 05/01/2006 22:09

Well I had a good start to the day yesterday and it slowly got worse.

Scrammbled eggs fro breakfast (which DH made me

A chicken and avacardo with pineapple and chutney faccacia (not sure how to spell that ) and a bottle of water, but then for afternoon tea had some donuts, and then for tea had a KFC wrap, but only had a couple of chips. DS and I went to melbourne for the day and walked around the shopping centre so when i got back home couldn't be bothered cooking and either could DH.

Very disappointed in myself. But will do better today !!!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/01/2006 22:13

i will admit to just having a freddo choccy bar (sorry jess, mummy will replace it) but it is only 5 sins on SW and i havent had ANY sins today (allowed up to 15 a day)

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 05/01/2006 22:17

Altogether today I have had:

Bacon and Egg roll
A satsuma
A pear
boiled rice and tuna
Baby carrots
2 mini choccies

2 hot chocolates
cup of tea
big glass of water
glass of squash

ok... so it was 2 bacon and egg rolls

I dont think i will have lost anything this week. I really need to do some excersize like walking but its freezing out! Am getting a swim suit so I can go to auqatone - anyone else got a fear of showing there wobblery bits though? but I wasnt to be slim for the summer so i will definatly be going

I have got to stop getting on the scales though as they keep going up and down (never lower than my origional wieght that was emailed though) I cant have put weight on!!!!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/01/2006 22:26

Tamba - DONT WEIGHT EVERY DAY!

Its depressing for one, and you can never tell day to day because it just may not show on the scales.

I weighed 12st Tuesday morning, and Ill probably hop on again sunday to check progress - and iff not looking good will be extra good monday/tuesday/wednesday/thursday and then ease up a bit.

unicorn · 05/01/2006 22:33

definately don't weigh every day try and leave it for the week.
It is so disheartening to try really hard and find nothing has budged!

Well not a bad day (still no alcohol - so very good day really)...
not looking at calories etc, just trying to modify my eating excesses.
after the am fodder of weetabix, and cheese salad sandwich (lunch)
I had...
a lovely smoked Haddock/New potatoes and Salad dinner.

Bad things I did today.
Had butter on the Haddock.
Ate some of ds's chocolate (2 small pieces)
Has some M+M's that dh forced upon me!!

Good things...
Drank lots of water, ate fruit, and didn't succumb to any vino.

Still working on.... Exercise!! (it will happen- eventually)

sylvev · 06/01/2006 00:01

Hi
Just fell asleep on sofa, woke up and craved choc. so thought I'd type here instead!

My day has consisted of:
2 weetabix with skimmed milk
2 bananas
2 low fat yoghurts
1 fruit smoothie
2 litres sparkling water
Jacket potato with cheese (small amount) and beans and salad.
2 apples.

Feeling ok, but a tad irritable at times, chocolate was a real stress buster for me. Oh well, better turn in before I find myself leering at the biscuit tin.
Goodnight all.

MrsSpoon · 06/01/2006 00:04

Wow, everyone seems to be doing really well! Keep it up!

I've been ill and not got my appetite back yet, today I've eaten:-

two low fat sausages, two slices of bread and brown sauce

a baked potato some home-made coleslaw (low fat mayo) and a small amount of cheese

two slices of toast with honey.

I'm not eating enough at the moment.
