Morning all.

Feel a bit stiff from my Davina exercise workout yesterday but feel great about that as it must mean it had an impact. I'm off now to do the abdominal bit that I missed yesterday as DS woke up - so that I don't feel tempted to eat any of the lemon cake DD and I made yesterday.

Made yummy broccoli and stilton soup last night (enough for a whole month I think so some is now in the freezer). Can my DS (9 months) eat this so I don't have to cook him something else for lunch?

Have a good day ladies and BE STRONG - WE CAN DO IT. And Tamba, go on, put the choccies in the bin. I'm sure DH and the children want to support you in your dieting attempts and wouldn't expect anything else

busywizzy · 06/01/2006 09:58

Oh Mrs Spoon - hope you feel better soon.

jambuttie · 06/01/2006 11:00

I aint officially on the chart till tuesday but started to change my eating as of today

love the recipe thread though will post on there too

appyday · 06/01/2006 11:29

Still finishing Xmas choccies, but not much else for last couple of days as throat too sore. No energy for exercise yet, but got to clear decorations and do housework today so that counts, and won't have too much time for food. Oh, and bread is my biggest weakness, so I will try and 'fess whenever I weaken.

jambuttie · 06/01/2006 11:31

appy bread is my big weakness too

we have stack of sweeties left from xmas need to stay away from the fridge, cupboard etc

today i had

Fruit n fibre(3oz) with semi skimmed milk

I am going to have 2 boiled eggs on 2 slice of bread for lunch though

jambuttie · 06/01/2006 12:14

and I had a tangerine too

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 06/01/2006 12:30

I havent eaten yet today but have a fridge full of fruit so hopefully will avoid the choccie

I am planning on having chicken and baked potato for tea but ams tuck to what to have for lunch.

appyday · 06/01/2006 12:32

cup of tea, milk no sugar
2 cups water
cheerios and ss milk
apple
can feel a carbohydrate craving coming on though.

bubblerock · 06/01/2006 13:38

Just did most of the Penny Lancaster workout - It's quite hard, I had to stop as we were getting into the floor exercises as for some reason DS was getting a bit freaked out by the whole thing - maybe because I was jumping about like a lunatic instead of sitting on my arse

There was one exercise on there that I just couldn't do - she was lying on her side propped up on her arm with legs straight and together, then, she lifted her hip off the floor ???? wtf?? I did enjoy the kicking and boxing bit though and it felt good to be working up a sweat.

Eating's been great so far, branflakes with dried cranberries and soya milk for breakfast, uncle bens chinese rice pouch with chopped tomato and cucumber for lunch and I've planned tacos for tea

busywizzy · 06/01/2006 14:05

Wow Bubblerock, I'm impressed.

Davina also has an exercise that left me thinking I was a complete no-hoper. Lay on the floor face down then lift your body up into a press-up and hold for a minute A minute - I didn't even manage 5 seconds. Will know I'm super-fit when I can manage that

LoveMyGirls · 06/01/2006 14:08

when is weigh in day im not doing very well so far - not that im not trying just that ive put on 2lb

me23 · 06/01/2006 14:40

hi girls,
hope it's going ok for you all.
today I've had skinny mocha from pret a manger(i feel like I need one a day to survive anyone know how many cals? not sure how bad it is)
little amount of scambled egg on 2 wholemeal toast.
soup with 3 slices of bread overdid that one a bit!
don't know what to have for dinner, any suggestions? I'm veggie and not a very good cook!
also how many cals are you girls aiming for a day?

unicorn · 06/01/2006 15:08

brekkie dh fried (I know ) some potatoes for the kids.. so I had some.

Lunch.. salad with mozzarella and olives (probably too high in calories to be diet food really, but it was nice!)

For tea I shall have some prawn stir fry with rice.

Lots of water, no alcohol...
but I did succumb to a small bar of chocolate taht I found in my pocket.

Doubt If I am losing weight, but giving up vino is a start for me.

hullabaloo · 06/01/2006 15:18

Well sone everyone you are all doing really well. Very impressed by those who have the fitness vids on! I am still not officially started yet but have told EVERYONE that I will be starting Sunday night and not to let me eat any rubbish after this date! Have just had all the family in for lunch and it's really hard to be good when you're still in holiday mode! Hope that on Monday when I get back to my routine I will be able to resist all the goodies in the staffroom. Think I will go out for a walk each lunchtime to get away from it all. I have NO willpower.

jambuttie · 06/01/2006 15:38

I have just had my tea as I start work at 5pm

had oven baked haddock in breadcrums and 5 oz chips - 450 calories

and an apple

taking fresh fruit sald to work tonight for my break too

myturn · 06/01/2006 16:58

Poor MrsSpoon. Hope you are feeling better really soon.

Everyone is doing so well! I went running this morning with dd1 shock horror!!! Really enjoyed it! Had forgotten what a buzz it gives me and have had an amazing amount of energy all day. Have scrubbed the house from top to bottom in a fraction of the time it normally takes me!

Except dh is taking me out for a meal now. Do I really have to go for a salad? And how come the healthy option always looks so unappetising? Musn't ruin what has been a fab day though.

unicorn · 06/01/2006 16:59

the weekend looms...

come on everyone... we can get through it!

Good luck to one and all!!

UCM · 06/01/2006 17:09

I would like to say a big thank you fo Furball. She very nicely complied a lovely Excell chart (I did mine as a table in word as I thought there would only be about 10 of you) which is fantastic and shows us all at a glance how much we have lost etc. Also saves me lowrking it out using my brain

Big round of applause to Furball please!!!!

Whens our weekly wiegh in day?

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 06/01/2006 18:45

Tuesday

I am just cooking baked potato with chicken. Decided it would copy big cook little cook and make something different for the boys. Got the potatoes out of the oven, cut them open and scooped out the potato, realised it wasnt cooked, thought oh well im mashing it anyway... still huge lumps in it! So i thought id microwave it.. didnt work, tried adding marg... didnt work. Grated some chesse mixed it with the lumpy mess and went to refil their potatoes but then found that all the skins had ripped and collapsed. So now the boys have lumpy, cheesey potato mess for tea oh well i tried...

busywizzy · 06/01/2006 18:52

Furballs, you beat me to it. Have been feeling very sorry for Mrs Spoon with all the work this involves, especially with her working and was going to e-mail this evening to offer my help. The offer is still there if needed.

I have had a goodish day.

Shredded wheat with skimmed milk (again, must think of other things for breakfast)
2 x plain ryvitas mid morning
Broccoli and stilton soup
Piece of lemon cake (but v.v.small slice )
Tuna steak and roasted vegetables

I also finished off DS's rice pudding this evening but he's only 9 months so it was literally a few baby spoonfuls

I also did the abdominal exercises from Davina's video so about 25 minutes worth of jumping around and stretching - god it was hard!!!

Have had a headache all afternoon so am hoping it is my body's response to a massive reduction in sugar and other crap. Have been drinking lots of water today so when I haven't been eating healthily, exercising, oh yes and looking after two children - I've been on the loo

Good luck for the weekend everyone.

busywizzy · 06/01/2006 18:53
