Hi, would def love to join you all, but had baby at end of november and am breastfeeding still - need to lose about 4 stone, so need lots of motivation. not sure about losing weight whilst still feeding, my lovely health visitor pulled a face when i told her, but physio said i must (had spd in preganncy and sat on settee for 4 months eating nutella - oops!!!). anyone any ideas?

niccick · 05/01/2006 09:32

Hattiecat, my advice would be to try and have a balanced diet if you can. Lots of fruit and veggies, have whole grain breads and cereals drink lots of water and go for walks. Try and keep away from all of the sugary sweets and cakes and things, although me being a self confessed sweet tooth i know how hard it can be. oh and if you want to snack keep dried fruit and things like that in the house.

Good luck

HeavyBee · 05/01/2006 09:47

Will email today, what a relief to find other people in the same boat. I keep meeting people at the school gate who are six inches taller than me (which I can't help) and six inches narrower (which I probably can). I need to get rid of 25 pounds but a stone would do to start with - my 'baby' is five now and I still haven't got rid of all the podge. I put it on when carbohydrate was all that kept me awake at work during months of no more than two hours' sleep at a stretch, but there's no excuse any more....

vicmum · 05/01/2006 10:40

Hattiecat,

I also am breastfeeding my 9 week old son, so cannot go on a strict diet, but I am aiming to eat low fat and plenty of fruit and veg. I am also cutting out chocolate, biscuits and white bread and will go for long walks with the pram everyday - and hope this will help as I have one and half stone to lose.

melrose · 05/01/2006 10:46

Thanks for recipe Busywizzy, will try it today.

So far today doing well:

Hot water with slice of lemon first thing (surprisingly nice!)
Fesh OJ, 4 oatcakes with scrape of low fat cheese for breakfast

cup of weak black tea
water (that i keep forgetting to drink)

This is really helping me as making me think what I eat

B/F Mums, my advice would be don't eat any less food, but just make it healthy!

Fin54 - any low fat plain yoghurt is good, but check it has no added sugar. I buy organic bio yog normally

silkcutandchardonnay · 05/01/2006 11:54

UCM, I am so sorry not to have emailed you my vitals. Had a mad couple of days back at work and a mad couple of nights with baby up for most of it, so haven't got round to stepping on the scales. I will try to remember to do it tonight and email you from work tom. Feeling very tired and very lardy today and just want to eat chocolate at my desk rather than nibble grapes. Hope inspiration returns soon as my suit trousers are biting into my big fat tummy .

How are you all doing today?

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 05/01/2006 11:56

I managed 200 sit-ups last night although I dont think it makes up for the dairy milk!

I havent eaten yet, I rarely do in the mornings and need to go shopping to get something healthy because otherwise I may eat the cheese pizza from the freezer!

I am enjoying my tuna and rice in the evenings, low fat/cal and filling too

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/01/2006 11:59

ive had the following so far today...

1 glass diet coke

2 bowls veggie pasta

1/2 slice of toast with low-fat olive spread

JenumGeranium · 05/01/2006 12:04

Veggie pasta sounds yummy! Did you make it yourself?

JenumGeranium · 05/01/2006 12:05

So far I have had a bowl of weetabix minis with s/s milk and a banana. Oh and one sports bottle of water! Need to go shopping now as no more healthy stuff in cupboard!

unicorn · 05/01/2006 12:09

(day 3 nil by alcohol)Today I have mostly been eating....

weetabix x2 semi skimmed milk
cheese salad sandwich (with lo cal hummus, and a couple of olives)
satsuma and grapes

herbal teas and water...

ok ish so far!!

bubblerock · 05/01/2006 12:19

I had a great morning, took DS1 to school then wandered around town with DS2, bought a lovely coat in Top shop (ssshhh...don't tell DH) Then I went into Woolworths and they had lots of cheap dvds and videos, I ended up getting Ibiza workout with patsy palmer for £2.99, Ultimate body workout, Penny Lancaster for £2.99 and Penny smith's yoga masterclass for £2.99!!!

I know they're not the new ones but they cost loads and at least with these I have a choice on what type of exercise to do. I may have to give up the gym as I'm at home with DS2 on my own now so these will keep me going!

I am still doing ok with the healthy eating, branflakes with soya milk for breakfast, sunflower kernals in town and water, will have weightwatchers tomato soup for lunch and chicken and vegetable casserole for tea. I don't even fancy chocolate or biscuits to be honest - xmas overload!!

SleepyJess · 05/01/2006 12:23

I have had 2 slices of wholemeal toast with half fat marge.. and 2 cups of tea. What can I have for lunch? Everything gives me tummy ache at the moment.. this happens when I abuse me system relentlessly as I did at Christmas..

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/01/2006 12:36

yep - pasta was made the other night in bulk and i keep it in the fridge to snack on!

Pasta Twirls
Onion
Garlic
Mushrooms
Sweetcorn
Tin of Peas
Tin of Tomatoes

Cook it all up (pasta seperately obviosuly!) and put in covered container in fridge - LOVELY!

bubblerock · 05/01/2006 12:57

I used to hate sweetcorn but when you're on a diet you really appreciate the 'sweetness' of it Just wish I lived somewhere hot with lots of lovely fresh fruit - do you think the doctor could prescribe a holiday??

jambuttie · 05/01/2006 12:59

can I join too please??

Am having a bad day. Ordered goods from Jojomamanbebe who initially said item was in stock when I submitted the order and gave my credit card details. On tracking my order I later noticed that they had altered the details to item to permanently out of stock but my credit card company says they have taken the value of the order out of my card. Have emailed to query but they say they have not takan any money out of my account when I know they have. Told them about this. They want me to send a copy of my statement which I am not going to receive for another month. Shouldn't they be sorting the mess out? I know i am ranting on but I am so .

As for my diet, I have been so busy trying to sort this mess, that I have not snacked in between. Had a jacket potato for lunch and Alpen for breakfast.

Erm UCM, am still not on that list. Have checked that you haven't already sent the chart but it definately hasn't arrived.

MrsSpoon · 05/01/2006 14:38

Yeah, I'm on the list now!!! That means I can't slack! Thanks UCM.

I have a flu bug (slightly gastric) this week, it is hampering eating and exercising.

chickenrice · 05/01/2006 14:43

UCM, please can you resend the chart as my outlook express blocked your attachment. Think I may have sorted it. Thanks.

myturn · 05/01/2006 14:43

Not fair . I am obviously invisible...

Feeling very sorry for myself now.

myturn · 05/01/2006 14:45

Just noticed your earlier message UCM. I'm NOT invisible yay!!! Thanks. Will wait with bated breath for your mail...

UCM · 05/01/2006 15:12

Right I have just emailed said chart again to 40 of you. If you haven't recieved it and you are using hotmail, look in junk messages as a few of you turned up in there for some obscure reason. If you haven't recieved it. You will - next Tuesday. It's gone to everyone I listed earlier. No need to email me back unless your name is on list and you didn't get. Chickenrice, I have tried sending it from another address.
