Well I am feeling very virtuous! Have been very good all day - and NO ALCOHOL!!!

Bought the girls the CDUK Dance dvd and joined them doing it today. Completely exhausted by the end, but a very good workout. Great fun too - will be body popping with the best of them soon...

bubblerock · 04/01/2006 19:51

I still haven't had my email and I wasn't a latecomer honest!!

Anyone watching Superslim me: best and worst diets at 8pm on 4?

I've been super good today, walked about 3 miles with the kids, had branflakes with soya milk for breakfast, salad with new potatoes, tuna and sweetcorn for lunch and vegetable stir fry for tea. No snacks all day! Can't go to the gym until the weekend as DH has just got a temp job so that's my weekdays gone.

figleaf · 04/01/2006 19:57

UCM I have just Emailed you (3rd time lucky I hope)I`ve been spelling your name wrong (sarafend not sarfend)so the mails were returned - hope I can still play!

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 04/01/2006 20:03

Im watching superslim!

WideWebWitch · 04/01/2006 20:07

Do I have to email? No way am I disclosing my weight I'm afraid! But I'd like to join in for support if that's ok, I found it really helped last year being able to post about what i'd eaten. OK, today

3 apples
a pear
red grapes
a 330 cal chicken salad sandiwch
125g smoked trout (160 cal)
a red pepper
quarter of a pot of reduced fat hummus
quarter of a pot of parsnip and somthing pate
5 chocolates that we lying temptingly on the side in the office. I have ordered them removed tomorrow!

And no booze. So I am feeling reasonably virtuous except for the chocolate. Oh well, that's prob 400 cals so I guess I ought to just count it in and move on. Just for contrast, here's what I ate the day before, before my diet started:

3 pieces of white bread slathered with butter
a sausage and egg muffin
lots of pic n mix at the cinema
a rare roast beef sandwich with horseradish, lots of butter again on white bread
Chicken karai, chicken bhuna, mushroom pilau and half a naan
a glasss of white wine
a big piece of white chocolate Toblerone.

Blimey, no wonder I don't feel that hungry today despite not eating that much! What a pig. Anyway I posted that for contrast.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 04/01/2006 21:36

Help - I am scoffing a dairy milk!!!

fin54 · 04/01/2006 21:36

I just love Tuna, but does anyone know of some thing else to mix it up with other than Mayo, I have to lose weight because of health issue's so have been told not to have Mayo ( not even the light mayo )

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 04/01/2006 21:37

I love tuna on its own (not just on its own) but i have just had it mixed with rice and it was yummy!

JenumGeranium · 04/01/2006 21:39

Ok I have fallen off the wagon!

White wine - couple of glasses
Packet of crisps
3 After eights
Snack size snickers

Ooops - not feeling too great- so thats my excuse!

Will do better tomorrow!

DustAnyone · 04/01/2006 21:47

Me too.

Cleared the house of goodies yesterday then went to work to be meet with tins of chocolates still not eaten!

I WILL do better tomorrow!

DustAnyone · 04/01/2006 21:49

'met' not 'meet'!

melrose · 04/01/2006 21:49

Tuna with low fat yoghurt is good

I am feeling very virtuous as just been to yoga, but fighting the temptation of wine, drinking peppermint tea instead!!

MrsSpoon · 04/01/2006 22:00

UCM I've emailed you twice now but it looks like you haven't received my mail.

busywizzy · 04/01/2006 22:05

Hurray, an excellent day for me.

Cup of tea with one sugar
Shredded wheat when everyone else had fresh hot bread smothered in butter
Smoked trout salad for lunch - DH took us out and I resisted chips and pudding
Fish pie for tea

No snacks, no alcohol

Tomorrow I'm going to get going on the exercise regime as DH is back to work so he won't be around to take the mick out of my wobbly bits

fin54 · 04/01/2006 22:08

I hate to confess this but what kind of low fat yogart do you buy, I have only ever bought flavored yogarts like vanilla and strawberry ones

busywizzy · 04/01/2006 22:11

Melrose I have an excellent recipe for parsnip soup.

50g butter
2 onions peeled and chopped
1 leek trimmed and sliced
2 garlic cloves peeled and chopped
600g parsnips peeled, halved and sliced
juice of half a lemon
1 litre chicken or vegetable stock
salt and pepper

Melt butter, add onions, leek and garlic and sweat for 15-20 minutes. Add parsnips and lemon juice and cook for 15 minutes. Add stock and seasoning, bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Liquidise to smooth paste.

Yum yum

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 04/01/2006 22:11

Mrs spoon, I have aq copy of the email and chart i could email it to you if you want? [email protected]

Do you think the 100 sit ups ive just done will cancel out the dairy milk?

What other excersizes can i do?

busywizzy · 04/01/2006 22:18

Tamba, I cut something out of a Sunday supplement. These are a few of the exercises.

Squats - standing with feet shoulder width apart, bend both knees to 90 degrees. Keep your back upright and your heels on the ground. Return to the start position and repeat 15 times.

Wall Press-Ups - Stand 3ft away from wall with arms straight in front of you and palms on wall a little over shoulder width apart. Bend both arms so your body tilts towards the wall then straighten your arms to return to start position. Repeat 20 times.

Body Raises - Lie on your back with your legs straight and your heels resting on a chair. Keeping your legs straight raise your body and bottom off the ground until your back is straight and your shoulders and heels are supporting your weight. Lower yourself to the start position and repeat 20 times.

I've got loads more if you want them

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 04/01/2006 22:20

Thats great thanks bizzy

I did just fall on my arse doing the squatting one though

hullabaloo · 04/01/2006 23:51

UCM did you get my emails? Sent one to .com and one to .co.uk as you had both written down on the other thread. If you need me to email back let me know. I haven't had any emails from you but then I AM a latecomer!

UCM · 05/01/2006 01:30

I have many emails, infact I have tons, God I feel so popular. Haven't been able to do a lot today as was working until late. Myturn I have yours now.

I only don't have the ones I posted earlier. I shall be as thin as a whippet soon as I am far too busy with emails to eat

OP posts:
UCM · 05/01/2006 01:32

But yes Hulla I have deffo got yours.

When you all next email me with your weight, can you sign off with your MN nickname as I got terribly confused today, as only blondes in Essex can.

OP posts:
UCM · 05/01/2006 01:33

And I promise that everyone will get the chart tomorrow as long as no one else joins after this moment. Cos if you do join you will have to wait until Tuesday for the next global email. Thanks for being patient.
