Feeling like flouncing again!
So near and yet so far, and seem to have stalled, all I want to do is shovel chocolate buttons into my gob!

smokinaces · 15/11/2011 16:49

Trimmer, I'm going to start the Shred again from day 1 this week. Not tonight as have parents evening, but maybe tomorrow (but work late so might be Thursday)

Yes, on lowest carb you are only allowed green veg basically - cabbage, broccoli, salad, and then some cauliflower etc. Ones to avoid are root veg (parsnips, carrots, swede) and sweet things such as sweetcorn and peas. Its quite easy to keep to to be honest, and I'm enjoying it a lot. I feel better than when I did slimming world - I love all the pasta and rice, but to be honest my stomach didnt. I wonder now whether I have some kind of reaction to the gluten or wheat? The portion size is better for me on this low carb too.

Piste, dont flounce. 2lb is a big poo!! Grin Are you still running? Have you kept on doing the Shred? To be honest, you are basically at target so celebrate and start the long road of maintaining! Grin Envy

I won a lovely dress of Ebay from Next last night. Now just got to slim into it - its a small 14, so another dress size to go.....

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/11/2011 19:14

Low carbing has been a really positive thing for me too, it was just what I needed, and like you Smoky I feel so much better for not eating bread and pasta etc. I think you should try my low carb thread, Custy who is the expert comes and goes, although she is essentially maintaining, and there are people who really know their stuff too.

I have to get the scales to say 9:13, then I am done. Then I'm going to start a thread for people like me to maintain on, because I can't do this on my own!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/11/2011 19:17

Custardo's blog is here Smokin I found it a good read, and I love her celeriac chips they are proper yum

GettinTrimmer · 16/11/2011 20:29

How is shred going smokin?

I know Pretty cuts down on carbs and increases protein, it makes sense as protein is very filling. Although there are carbs which are more filling than others, brown basmati rice is one, something to do with the GI index Confused

How do you introduce carbs again? Or is this it, you'll always be eating fewer carbs.

Pisty you will get to goal soon. Can we see a before and after pic?

smokinaces · 17/11/2011 18:40

Shred isnt yet. Work has been manic - did 8.15 to 5.15 yesterday and covered for someone being off today, so basically tried to juggle two jobs. Love it, but so so busy. I will try, one day soon.

You introduce Carbs slowly, with the idea that you switch permenantly to lower GI versions (so wholemeal bread and pasta instead of white) and learn about portion control at the same time. You adapt it as a basic way of life though, lower carbs on the whole. The portion plate is a great thing for when at goal.

Pisty, I want to see before and after pictures!!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/11/2011 18:58

there will be no photos!! Well maybe an after one, certainly not a before, cos there aren't really any because I took them all, so there are none of me Grin

smokinaces · 17/11/2011 20:06

Waiting with baited breath here pisty.......

Well, I am happy and determined, lost 2.5lb, of course I weigh 8lb lighter on my scales compared to the sw scales.

My problem - it's taken me all this time to realise I can't bloody lose weight without a goal. I've not had one since dh's niece's wedding summer before last.

SO I have a very short term goal - by 12th December to have lost another 1/2 stone so that I can fit into my velvet trousers as I am going out for a meal with my book club. Then need another goal by early March.
