New Mum seeking new body by Christmas!

My baby boy is 6 months old and I am quite overweight. Ok, I'm alot overweight (takes deep breath) I'm 15 stone. At 5 ft 7 this is waaay to much. I am sitting here in the one pair of trousers that fit me and my DP's tee shirt because none of my tops fit properly. Basically my stomach looks like a deflated paddling pool and my thighs are so big that I'm fairly sure that if I sit down too much longer they will burst open.

After I had the baby I took the very grown up approach to weight loss and I hoped that if I ignored the problem it would go away and somehow I would have a body like posh spice-because all new mothers lose all the weight instantly don't they? Turns out they don't, and surviving on mini aero's didn't help. I weigh more now than when I gave birth.

I have a serious lack of motivation but I decided to see if I could lose some pounds before Christmas, as I'll be seeing people I haven't seen since I was pregnant and want to look casually fabulous. So are any of you interested in holding my hand, kicking my arse and generally helping each other to stay on track? I really want to do this but I know if I'm not answerable to others my resolve will slip.

I have my first weight watchers meeting tomorrow, which I'm dreading as it will mean that the leader will weigh me and know what a tubby fecker I am. So, if any of you weight watcher followers or followers of other plans would like to come and join me and share stories of jogging up and down while eating maltesers so the points are being eaten and burned off simultaneously or just have a rant about how unfair the world is when you're hungry, you are welcome.

Right, I'm off to remove all the biscuits, chocolate and sweets from my house before tomorrow. That's right, when I say "remove" I do of course mean "eat them".

14lbs in a month Newchoos - that is an impressive target!

I would award myself a treat for much less than that Grin

NewChoos · 25/07/2012 07:49

I need something to keep my on track(as this thread proves). I have got 2 stone to lose really, need a kick start!

Biscuitsandtea · 25/07/2012 08:38

How are you planning to do it? I've got 3 stone to lose but it is going very s...l...o...w...l...y

NewChoos · 25/07/2012 09:06

Oh I've had loads of plans but none have really been fruitful!
This time I am cutting out all potatoes (not bothered by them anyway) croissants (harder) and cake (miserable) but I am going to have 1-2 days off a week, so I don't feel too deprived.
Yesterday I had:
Bfast: Yoghurt and Banana
Lunch: Greek salad and chicken
Dinner: chicken stir fry (although was tempted by other food but stir fry is such a good diet food...)
Treat- few chocolate buttons

I did this sort of plan before Christmas and lost 10lbs.

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 25/07/2012 10:13

Well done on the 3lbs biscuits, that's a great loss. And half a stone is fab, you should be very proud :)

Don't be too down about it Cora, it happened to me a few weeks ago too and I know it's disheartening but I bet next week you'll have lost it. I was reading online about diets and it said you should little and regularly because if you don't eat during the day, your metabolism slows down so when you do eventually eat you don't burn off the calories from it. Lack of sleep also slows it down, apparently we should be having at least 8 hours a night, I wish.

How is littlechoos now? My little girl is teething too and it's a nightmare, I feel so sorry for her. This past week she's been getting up at 3am and last night her sister heard her up and got up too. She thought it was morning and started telling us to get dressed because we were meeting her friends at the soft place!!

I think I've been doing well this week, my eating habits are much better but I think I still need more exercise to lose any proper weight. I've just realised that my baby is 1 in 9 weeks, how crazy is that!! So I'd like to have lost 9 lbs by then, should be doable.....

Hope everyone is doing well.

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 26/07/2012 11:18

I've lost 1lb this week but I am so tired and fed up today that I'm craving some junk food :( so tempted to get macdonalds for lunch but I'm trying to stay strong haha.

CoraBear · 26/07/2012 13:54

Rant Alert

I weighed myself this morning, I am 14 stone. This is good, my weight is going the right way. But hold on!!!! I have gone UP an entire dress size. What the feck!!??? I am so mad. I'm not sure at who but I am furious. And it's not a case of the clothes being a small size because I tried on several styles of trousers in several shops and I had to get an 18 for the bloody things to close.

AAAAGGGGHHHH!

I nearly cried in the dressing rooms, I would have if I hadn't had my son with me. I look awful and I feel awful. A size 18? I've never been a size 18. I've tried so hard and I've lost weight but I've gone up a size. How is that even possible?

I'm off to stomp around the park with DS and try to lose the bad mood because I am so angry I might actually self destruct. UGH!

Oh, congrats to SayHello for losing the pound.

I mean that in a nice way, I'm afraid it may come across as bitter after my rant but it's not.

Cora could it be the heat? I always feel bigger when it's hot - not heavier but kind of hotter and sticky and sort of 'swollen'?

If your weight keeps going in the right direction the trousers will catch up eventually. In the meantime have an unMNy hug (since its probably inappropriate to give you chocolate and Wine x

Biscuitsandtea · 26/07/2012 18:18

And good job SayHello well done Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 26/07/2012 18:20

Also Cora How does 14st relate to the 3lbs you'd put on at the weekend - does that mean it was a blip? If you were bloated could the clothes size thing be a hangover from that perhaps?

CoraBear · 26/07/2012 19:00

Thanks for the hug Biscuits- if you can reach your arms around me.

The three pounds plus an additional 2lbs are gone. I think the world's just against me (I am so dramatic it's ridiculous!). I even did a pregnancy test, but nothing there either, I'm just really bloated. DP has gone to to the shops so he's going to get me wine, I may as well.

I've been so careful about what I'm eating and drinking but I don't know what's going on. I've cut all the labels out of my new clothes because I want to wear them but I don't want a reminder of what size they are.

I have given my body a stern warning that I better be skinnier by next week or it's getting no chocolate ever again!

Biscuitsandtea · 26/07/2012 19:07

Wow - that's great loss Cora - I am totally convinced that your trouser circumference is just lagging behind with whatever the extra 3lbs were at the weekend. You watch - this time next week you'll be able to take those trousers down without undoing them Smile

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 26/07/2012 19:45

That's very annoying Cora and I can totally understand why you're frustrated. I agree with Biscuits though that it may be a mixture of the heat / bloating and hopefully next week you'll feel better. Either way, you lost the 3lbs plus an additional 2lbs and that's an amazing loss.

NewChoos · 26/07/2012 20:19

Cora - must be water. Sending virtual prosecco your way. You are doing really well.
Sorry short post- only just in from work and lots to sort out before zzz.
Hello to everyone and back when y life calms down!

NewChoos · 29/07/2012 12:43

Hope everyone is having brilliant weekends. I weighed myself yesterday and have lost 4lbs (So I am now back to what I was a few weeks ago). I am aiming for 3 this week. Yesterday was my 'day off' we had a olympic bbq. Good fun and a chance for me to indulge in some cheesecake & crisps! oh and cheese and biscuits.

Olympic fever in the Choo house, we just went out for a walk to wean ourselves off watching it on tv 24/7....

Biscuitsandtea · 29/07/2012 17:45

Well done indeed! Grin Great effort

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 29/07/2012 19:07

Well done Choos, that's a great loss :)

Not done too well over the weekend. I stupidly bought Magnums the other day so I've been eating those along with a takeaway last night. Oh well, Thursday is ages away so I have plently time to be good!!

Hope everyone else is doing well and having a nice weekend.

CoraBear · 31/07/2012 10:45

Have to post and run but I just wanted to say that I weighed in today and I weigh the say as last week and considering the amount of food I consumed over the weekend I am very happy with that.

Hope everyone gets on ok today. Congrats on the weight loss Choos!

I meant to post on Thursday as I had my weigh in but I'm still the same. Very frustrating as I've been doing lots of exercise and going for long walks every day. I've had quite a few comments saying I look like I've lost weight which is nice but I haven't lost anything so I'm starting to think it's just people trying to be nice!!

Hope everyone else is doing well and had a lovely weekend.

CoraBear · 07/08/2012 06:30

Hi all,

SayHello I know how frustrated you feel. You must have toned up but the results aren't showing on the scale yet. Hang on in there.

Starting back on ww this week as I seem to be struggling with over-consumtion of ice pops due to the good weather and even though they are mainly water I'm eating way too many so I need to rein it in. I just need a little structure back.

My starting weight is 14 stone 3 lbs. I'm hoping to be in the 13's next week!

CoraBear · 08/08/2012 08:21

Ok, I won't lie, day one of being on weight watchers went pretty terribly. I hardly ate all day then stuffed my face at 8.30pm once Little Bear had gone to bed. So much for breaking my old habits. I had a few crisps but otherwise no junk food so in that way it was better.

Hopefully day two will be a bit better.

Where has everyone gone?

I hope you're all doing well no matter where you are!

Well I've been pretty good during the week and been getting lots of exercise. Yesterday I went for a long walk to the park with the little ones then when dp came home I sat in my friends garden drinking wine, went home and had a takeaway. And I wonder why I'm not losing any weight!! Oh well, was a nice night anyway.

Hope everyones having a nice weekend.
