Anyone want to join me?

There is of course another week of indulgence left before we have to start but thought it might be good to get into the right mind set.

Thanks JG - how about a carrot stick or two for those hunger pangs

bubblerock · 03/01/2006 16:47

I've been doing ok today and yesterday - no exercise though as I had a migraine yesterday and it's lingering today - might be because I stopped my 50 cups of tea per day
I made a huge pan of veg casserole which has been keeping me going and tonight I'm going to have mushroom omlette and salad. I bought some bran flakes and soya milk for breakfast.

JenumGeranium · 03/01/2006 16:51

Thanks tangerinecath! No carrots but just had 4 satsumas!

Melrose, I would be interested in your veg soup recipe or if anyone else has one for veg soup - thanks!

bubblerock · 03/01/2006 16:57

If anyone's interested Aldi are selling the following DVDs for £4.99

Carol Vorderman?s 28 day detox
Hollywood workout
Linda Barker?s simple yoga
Nell McAndrew?s peak energy workout
Tracy Shaw?s salsacise for hips and thighs
Zoe Lucker?s little black dress workout

There are also lots of £1 trial magazines through this link The first post tells you how it works but to get the more recent offers skip to the end. I signed up with Zest, Cosmo, Company and Mens Fitness (for DH) I cancelled the subscription once I'd received the first mag but still received 3 and it was fine. I actually thought Zest was very good.

Loobz · 03/01/2006 19:35

Have had a really good day today - managed to stick to diet really well and went out for a walk at lunch time. I have found a wonderful motivator - pain Have sciatica in my left hip which is aggravated by the excess weight. Been extremely sore today.
Even ignored the chocolates in the office although I have asked my colleagues to eat them asap to remove temptation

Charlee · 03/01/2006 19:46

Hi, i just emailed UCM (didnt know i had to untill today)

I'm doing ok im drinking alot of water and cranberry juice. i have made a huge pitcher or spring water and added lemon slices to it and put it in the fridge, its really refreshing so i dont find it hard to drink it.
I have been having homemade smoothies for breaky just fruit and skimmed milk and sometimes a low fat youghurt in a blender.

I also read if youshew ice cubes when you get nibbly, they burn calories shewing but dont put any back on. same with strawberries.

longwaytogo · 03/01/2006 20:01

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 03/01/2006 20:20

I started off well,

Drinks -

cup of tea with 2 sugars

Food

Basmati rice - 370 cal 3.9 grams of fat
Tuna - 113 cals 0.5 grams of fat

Cheese Pizza (it had to be eaten) loads of cals and loads of fat!

Anyone know how many calories or grams of fat I should be eating in a day? cause i want to eat less than that!

UCM · 03/01/2006 20:40

I have started a new thread for this week called Mumsnetters Lardy club . date. with a list on.

hullabaloo · 03/01/2006 23:10

Have been mega busy yesterday and today so have just got round to emailing you my details UCM. Hope it's not too late! You're all doing really well. I'm still on holiday and trying to catch up with friends and family so haven't been very good. To be honest I'm going to find it really hard until I go back to work. Lunches with family and friends, glasses of wine when people pop in etc. I shall try to be better than I normally am and shall begin in earnest when back at work. (I have been trying to be a bit more active though.)

bubblerock · 03/01/2006 23:15

Hi, would def love to join you all, but had baby at end of november and am breastfeeding still - need to lose about 4 stone, so need lots of motivation. not sure about losing weight whilst still feeding, my lovely health visitor pulled a face when i told her, but physio said i must (had spd in preganncy and sat on settee for 4 months eating nutella - oops!!!). anyone any ideas?

MadameButterfly · 05/01/2006 19:41

Count me in too please.

I have lost a stone in the last year with Weight Watcher, but still have another 1.5 stone to go to get to my target.

Furball · 05/01/2006 20:58

Madame Butterfly and anyone else wanting to join? you can find us all Here on the lardy arse thread.

nanneh · 08/01/2006 15:06

hattiecat - according to kellymom.com it is safe to lose 1.5 lbs per week (total of 6 lbs per month) when breastfeeding. That means you should eat 1500 - 1800 calories per day, stay with the upper limit if possible.

My DS is now 18 months (still breastfeeding) and I was scared that my milk supply would be effected if I lost weight (or may be it is just my excuse to eat lots of cake because I am breastfeeding !!) Any way, don't worry, it is possible to lose weight while breastfeeding. In fact, I think if I hadn't had such bad eating habits, I would have lost all my excess 2 stones by now, just by breastfeeding.

Just joined ww - and I am aiming for 4 - 6 lbs loss per month - ww have a leaflet that gives a guideline for bf mothers - good luck !!
