Afternoon ladies. I am still here, just not finding much time to get at the laptop atm, I am potty training DS1, which in itself is enough to drive me to chocolate Hmm

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 12/08/2011 17:26

Dont envy you there Ali ... so glad Im all done with my 3!

Hope all is ok Solo?

Been to a kids party today, usually my downfall (party food, nom!) but was fine. Was a wee bit hungry, so ate a wee sandwich and one cocktail sausage roll. Wasnt fussed about the chocolate cake - result!

MuffinsMummy · 13/08/2011 08:20

Hiya I'm here!

Not doing to badly on the first 2 rules but falling down a lot bit on the second 2! I now have 2 weeks of parties and meals out to contend with but am going to do my best Grin

Today I am going to make an effort to follow all of the rules and try and come up with a plan to get some exercise in!

Ali I heard someone say that you should get your DC dry at night within 3 weeks of being dry during the day. I'm not sure how true that is but DD1 was dry at night straight away, DD2 on the other hand has been dry for a few months but gone back to wetting at night as she is still in a nappy. It was quite dry to begin with but is now full most mornings!

Hope everyone has a good day Pauling :)

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/08/2011 13:40

I was having a really good day til DH made lunch! Id laready had a bowl of soup at about 11 am, so wasnt hungry (wasnt full either) at lunchtime, but DH had lovingly made a large pot of Stovies, and looked absolutely crestfallen when I tried to suggest I wasnt hungry for any :( I gave in and had a small bowl, feel full now. Hopefully that will do me until dinner tonight!

Hope you are all having a happy sunny saturday :)

Solo · 13/08/2011 14:22

What are Stovies?

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/08/2011 15:37

Its a scottish dish made up of leftover beef/mince, tatties, dripping stock & onions - proper Scottish comfort food! Bloody gorgeous!

Solo · 13/08/2011 16:20

Ooooooh! I'll be right over HowTo yummy!!!

AIBU to go to a fish and chip shop tonight for half price food? it's a new shop and it's the last night of the introductory offer Blush

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/08/2011 17:35

Go for it! Can you share it with someone though? I've just made my first ever curry from scratch - Korma and a veg curry. they smell divine!

Solo · 13/08/2011 19:51

Well I did go for it and it was nice! though I have had better! Grin my Dd is here and we had a small portion of chips between us, she had battered sausage and I had large plaice...we both left a couple of chips. It was £3.20!!!! I mean, I remember the days of chips being 2p (yes really!) for a small, but ample portion, though it was almost 40 years ago. They were much nicer back then too.

OP posts:
HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/08/2011 21:37

Cheapest chips I remember were 25p a bag lol Glad you enjoyed it!

I had a hoem made korma, it was delish! Imagine that, Im losing weight whilst eating full fat, full taste korma! Yes please Grin

Solo · 13/08/2011 22:48

Evening all.

Chicken pox was just a scare thankfully all spots gone within a couple of days.

I wanted to get down to 10 stone by the christening next weekend and after weighing this morning I only have 3lbs to go Grin if I do my best I should make target! Just have DDs birthday, a friend coming for dinner and a meal out before then!

Why are people saying Paul McKenna is making money from this?! I really don't understand! Apart from the book and second hand CDs I have only spent what I would when not dieting. SW and WW cost about £5 a week plus special food, books and equipment that is vital for losing weight Hmm some people just don't have a clue! They don't understand it or agree so that automatically makes it wrong! This is the easiest life style change that I have tried and just makes so much sense! Everybody should be doing it Grin

Rant over I'm still hungry so having twirl bites for pudding Grin

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 14/08/2011 22:59

Evening ladies, hope everyone has had a lovely weekend and managed to adhere to the rules at least a little!

We took the boys swimming today, knackering! DS1 seems to be getting the hang of the potty training, he held on for almost 5 minutes today while we found a loo while we were out!
Horrible evening though, I could hear that DS1 hadn't gone to sleep and was banging around in his room. Went in and he had climbed up onto the windowsill and was rattling the handle. The window wasn't locked and he could so, so easily have fallen out. :(:( Frantic hunt for the key and he is safely locked in. I can't stop running the what ifs through my head :(

Solo · 15/08/2011 01:18

Hi Ladies :)

Excellent news all round for you MM :) well done!

Ali stop worrying now, we've all done something similar (I don't even have locks on upstairs windows) and nothing bad happened. Please stop stressing.

I have 5lbs to get off before I'm back to where I was before I put back on a stone.

Morning ladies!

Muffin, some people justrefuse yo open their minds, and if it isnt how they do it, then its wrong! Sad really. I have spent a total of £3 on my Pauling, on a 2nd hand book & cd. I won my tickets to the seminar on here, and therefore also got the 5 CD set for free too. That wouldnt even buy Paul a decent sandwich Grin SW on the other hand, have probably had £100s from me :( Good luck on your 3lbs, even if you dont quite make it, how fab are you going to look & feel anyway? Well done :)

Ali, I think we have all had that heart-in-the-mouth moments with our kids. One of mine let go of my hand & almost ran in front of a moving car :( Sounds like your DS is geting the hang of toilet training. Hope you are managing to Paul in your hectic weekend! :)

Hi Solo, that 5lbs will melt off soon! When I am in the shower, I imagine the water is washing away all my fat, and its disappearing down the plughole. Bonkers I know Grin but Paul does say that the imagination is stronger than the will (perhaps not strong enough to wash away my fat down a plughole though ha ha).

My kids go back to school tomorrow, and I cannot wait to get a routine back! It makes Pauling so much easier for me. I have been listening to 2 tracks before bed every night (one of the CDs plus the Overnight Success one that sends you to sleep) and that really seems to be working well for me. Ive found it very easy since doing it this way!

Solo · 15/08/2011 11:05

:) HowTo I've only bought the book and cd for £5.49. Like you I was given free tickets by Paul...my train tickets cost me more than Pauling has. I've never gone to any slimming classes before and have obly bought Rosemary Conley's Hip and Thigh Diet and the Atkins diet books before and both of those were more expensive than PMK's book.

I'm not sure about melting away, but it's going in the right directions the important thing. I'm not even following many rules atm; perhaps I should! Grin and it might really melt away!
Can you imagine the blockage in the drains if the fat really did melt away in the shower! Shock

Where abouts are you HowTo? your kids go back early!

Im in NE Scotland, they have been off since June up here!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 15/08/2011 11:41

My friend drove me to the seminar in exchange for my extra ticket, so I didnt even have that expense Grin

Niecie · 15/08/2011 12:48

Hello all. Back to reality for me.

I weighed myself yesterday and put on a couple of lbs on my holiday but that was to be expected and I was quite pleased actually as it could have been worse what with me being in the middle of my period.

So I thought this morning I would check again to see if had gone down again - AF is coming to an end and I had a bit of an upset tummy last night and certainly felt like I had lost something but no, it has gone up another 2 lbs!! Angry Not only that but it is has gone over one of those milestones I was hoping not to see again and it is the highest I have been for several months. I am not happy.

I know I shouldn't have checked twice in 2 days but I have barely weighed in for weeks and was just wondering how quickly I could recover from the effects of the holiday, especially since I have another one in 2 weeks time - not a proper holiday - DH's family get together and his parents' 50th wedding anniversary and we are all staying together as a family of 14 in one big house which is not my idea of a fun even if we all get along well enough. Then a week after that it is my graduation where I am going to have a proper photo done - probably for the first time since our wedding (18 yrs ago yesterday as it happens). I want to look nice but it isn't looking like I will look slim!Sad

Anyway, enough of my moaning. Glad things are more positive for the rest of you.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 15/08/2011 16:01

Naughty Niecie! No more weighing! See how depressed it has made you? It would have been better for your self-esteem if you hadnt checked at all, and just jumped back into Pauling :) Dont stress these events you have, follow the GRs and just enjoy yourself. Please dont weigh yourself again, it is not going to make it coem off any faster Grin all it will do is make you feel down.

Hope you had a fab holiday though!

Niecie · 15/08/2011 16:19

My worry is that by not weighing it won't come off at all. It has a wonderful way of focussing the mind when you see the scales go up instead of down! Plus I could be putting it on without knowing if I don't check occasionally! Shock

However I knew somebody would tell me off and I fully accept the error of my ways and will try very hard to reform. I promise not to weigh in again until at least the weekend. WinkSmile

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 15/08/2011 16:57

I honestly dont weigh myself now at all. I can see/feel the weightloss. if I cant see or feel it, its not worth worrying about, is it? I hope you manage to break your weigh habit Grin

Niecie · 15/08/2011 17:46

The thing is that it take an awful lot of weight for me to be able to feel a difference. I have to gain/lose a lot more than a stone for it to register in clothes. 2 stone is not even a dress size for me. As I have no confidence that I am heading in the right direction I could put on a signficant amount of weight without noticing if I didn't weigh at all so I will still keep doing it but just not as often as I did this week!Grin

BsshBossh · 15/08/2011 19:48

Hello. I had a good day until.... I went out for a powerwalk, ended up in a run and came home ravenous and ate for the rest of the day. I am starting the Couch to 5k running programme on Saturday so really need to watch myself on the ravenous thing. Now waiting for hunger to strike and will only eat dinner if I'm hungry for it...
