Solo you look amazing, you are a good looking lady Grin

DS2 had his jabs this morning too, his last baby ones as he is 4.5 months. No more now until MMR at 13 months. Poor little mite howled but then managed a very brave smile through the tears for the nurse.
He has then wanted BFing all day, so between that and watching the news coverage all day I've got nothing done and also eaten in a very un-Paul way.

MuffinsMummy · 09/08/2011 22:05

Evening all :)

DD3 is being christened in less than 2 weeks and I think she may have chicken bloody pox! I picked her up from xMILs after work and she has got 2 spots on her chest, 1 on her shoulder, a big 1 on her back and what looks like the start of 1 on her thigh! It's her birthday next tuesday as well :(

solo your photos look lovely glad you had a good time.

Aliba your DS2 was only 8 weeks when we started doing this hasn't time flown! Bless him for his little smile through his sadness :)

Hope everyone is doing well am off to bed now.

Solo · 10/08/2011 00:02

Oh no MM Shock I found my Dd didn't get so many spots and my friend reckons it's because I am still bfeeding Dd whereas Ds was covered in them, but I'd stopped feeding him several years before he got it.
Hopefully, Dd3 will be Ok and not too scabby for her Christening; at least if her face is clear, the pictures will be Ok...by two weeks, she should be clear of the actual pox, so not contageous. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Thank you all for looking at my pics :)

Wow Solo, you looked amazing! Envy very jealous!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/08/2011 08:20

I was very very tired yesterday, and have realised that I dont do well when I am tired :( Its obvioulsy a trigger for my binge eating, but to do about it? I cant nap with an active 3 year old. I also find I avoid this thread when I am having an off-day, now that is very naughty of me!

Im slightly less tired today. I listened to the book CD plus the overnight success mp3 (the one where he doesnt yell WAKE UP at the end lol) so hopefully the double whammy will keep me on the straight and noarrow today.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 10/08/2011 08:46

HowTo I am exactly the same, it makes all the difference.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/08/2011 09:19

Oh jings, I just triued teh aversion technique for my crisp addiction (and my binge food of choice) and now feel very very sick :( I imagined that I waseating crisps covered in snail slime, then that I was chewing on the snails themselves. My stomach is churning now!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 10/08/2011 10:17

I am pleased to hear it works! I am seriously considering doing it for biscuits, it is too easy to scoff 500 calories without realising it.

Hope you feel better soon, but still hate crisps :)

Solo · 10/08/2011 10:50

I didn't even get dressed yesterday as I was so tired and my ME is bad :( my Ds is 13 today...actually right NOW [GRIN]

OP posts:
Solo · 10/08/2011 10:54

Cos he was born at 10:50...

I didn't eat properly yesterday either. Need to sort it out.

That aversion thing really does work.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/08/2011 12:09

Aww happy birthday to your DS solo :)

Am starting to feel like maybe I could eat some lunch, but definitely not crisps! Erm, now that I am thinking about it again, I am feeling sick ha ha! This is insane Grin

Kewjumping · 10/08/2011 16:04

Hi all
Thanks soooo much for all the welcomes. Have lurked a few times since last week's post just so I can get a handle on everything/ everyone etc. Now the book and the CD have arrived! I'm making good progress on ploughing through the book and have listened to the CD a couple of times to get an idea of it all. Today is the first real day that I am trying to do everything I'm meant to. Having read most of the book though, there's a few things I'm not sure about and was just wondering if someone could give me a few pointers? I don't want to create obstacles and I'm worried that I'm already deciding in my mind that it's not going to work!

  1. How does the eat what you want, when you want work in practice. I work ft and don't have easy access to any shops from my office. This means that I kind of need to plan what I'm bringing in with me for the day at 7 in the morning. Any tips on how to make this work for me?
  2. How does the eat what you want when you want work when you have a young child? DS is 3 and in nursery ft during the week so this isn't too much of a problem then but I'm worrying about the weekends. I think it's a really important thing to eat as a family at the weekend. I don't want to sabotage my efforts during the week but equally I want to be able to enjoy family mealtimes and make sure there is some structure to mealtimes at the weekend with DS.
Oh, also, do I need to get the other CD's? Am I likely to get bored just listening to the same one for the next four months or so or will it lose its effectiveness? Sorry, these are probably very silly questions but have been fretting about them today so thought I would ask you lovely ladies for some words of wisdom! KJ, x
HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/08/2011 18:01

Hi Kew :)

  1. Can you keep a few of your fave snacks in your drawer? That way you will probably always have something on hand when you get hungry. I rarely only ever fancy eating just one single thing, usually I fancy anything thats tasty! So just make sure you pack a lunch of food that always tempts you :)
  1. We eat together as a family every night, what I do is after lunch, I eat a very small snack when I feel hungry, s that I stay kinda nuetral all afternoon, then an hour or se before dinner I eat my hunger start to grow. This usually means that I am hungry for my dinner like everyone else. Even if you are only slightly hungry, eat a small portion & put the rest in the fridge for later.
  1. The other CDs are not required! They are a very nice extra, but the main CD is what I listen to the most & is the most helpfull to me.

None of these are silly questions! :) Every query is valid, no matter how trivial they seem to others. Hope what Ive said makes sense & is of help to you! Good luck and remember to keep in touch with the thread!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/08/2011 18:04

Right, the rest of you .... how many of teh GRs did you follow today? be honest!

  1. I most definitely ate what I wanted Grin
  2. I may have had a snack when I wasnt 100% sure I was hungry ... I should have probably waited another 10 minutes and had a drink of water.
  3. Ate breakfast at my PC, but still managed to eat conciously. That was still naughty though!
  4. I am feeling a little more than satisfied after dinner ... I still ate about a third of what I usually would though! Need to look out for my satisfied cues and get better in touch with them

Hope you have all had a good day. Solo hope you are feeling a bit better x

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 10/08/2011 18:13

I was doing fine until I trod on a wasp! Owwwwwwwwwwwww

Going to have a smaller dinner to compensate, and I definitely won't need anything later this evening.

Kew, you have to do what fits. I choose to think that 'eat what I want', means eat food I love rather than things i think I ought to have. It doesn't mean that I can't plan meals for the week.
I also eat breakfast every day. On the days I don't things go wrong. What I find, and I know others have experienced this too, is that if you follow the rules in terms of the amount you eat and the eating slowly, then you will naturally find that you are hungry at mealtimes. If I am hungry but a meal is 30 minutes away, then I just wait. If it is going to be an hour or more then I might have a little something - so that I don't end up eating far too much when the meal is ready!!

Hope some of that helps?

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/08/2011 20:24

Grrr Im getting mad at people warning others struggling with their weight to avoid thsi thread as the only one who wins with this system is Paul McKenna Angry What a load of cobblers, we all know it works! Such a shame others are being warned off such a brilliant life-changing plan :(

Niecie · 11/08/2011 00:49

Hello ladies!

Solo - are you sure you need to be on this thread? You don't look like somebody who needs to be losing weight - you look fab! Smile Been to Dartmouth today - lovely place isnt it? We've been several times before but never to anything so posh as a ball. Glad you had a good weekend. And a belated happy birthday to your DS - officially a teenager. Scary I should imagine - DS1's pre-teen moods are bad enough!!

Alibaba - Ouch about the wasp. Don't end up in hospital like my brother although I suppose that is unlikely - I reckon his job as a welder had something to do with it - too dirty. Not a problem you have I should think - unless welding is your hobby! Wink

Kew - I agree with Alibaba about eating what you want. Don't go out of your way to eat 'diet' food but eat what you would normally want eat, just less of it and only when you are hungry.

HowtolookGood - glad I'm not the only one who avoids this thread when things aren't going well.Blush I end up dragging myself back though as I can't let it all go again but I really would rather not have to sometimes!!

Not seen the threads you are talking about although I can imagine, but it seems a bit daft to me that people are being warned off PMK because he is the only one to benefit. Like WW and SW do what they do for the good of us all rather than running a company to make profit!!!!! When I think of the amount of weekly/monthly subs and joining fees and special branded diet food that they push, along with the books and the DVD's I wonder how anybody can accuse PMK of making money out of people. Even if it didn't work, the cost of a second hand book off ebay is nothing compared to what these other 'diets' charge. You don't have to join anything to read the rules and get the gist - not like the other lot.

As I am on me hols, things are not going well but AF is due imminently and not helping. I might have a read of PMK's book in a mo - a little light holiday reading to get my thoughts back on track. However, with the super large bathroom mirror and the photos (Shock) I think I might find some more motivation easily when I get home!

PositiveAttitude · 11/08/2011 08:04

Happy Hols Neicie.

These school holidays are a struggle with food for me. I have a 15 year old DS who's only ambition has ever been to be a chef. He cooks all holiday, so loads of yummy food around all the time. He is also going through the hollow legs/locust stage (well, he has been for the last 13 years I think). He towers over me and is very slim but eats all the time! He will eat a huge meal, then 10 minutes later be rummaging in the cupboard for something else. He is just like DH!!
I am still not doing too bad though and am determined to carry on.

Totally agree about PMK being the most sensible/cost effective way. What a stupid point of view to post!!

Have a good day everyone.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 11/08/2011 08:15

Neicie - hope you are having a fab holiday! def read the book - I always find it gives me a masive boost when I do, I swear he puts subliminal messages in it Grin I am always far more motivated after reading it, even though I know it inside out! I wont lend out my book because I read it every few weeks or so, when I feel myself slipping.

PA - I find school holidays hard too, because my children are asking for treats & snacks all the time, and when we go out we take along yummy picnics & I find it harder to follow the rules on a day trip out!

I listened to "Secrets of Naturally Slim" last night, for a change, I normally stick to the book CD. Also listened to the Overnight Sucess mp3, as that one sends me off into a lovely sleep!

BsshBossh · 11/08/2011 10:31

Hello all, sorry for my sporadic appearances on this thread over the past couple of months. I fell off the wagon - well, kind of, because I stepped on the scales this morning for the first time since 18th June and found I've only put on 3lbs so perhaps I wasn't eating as much as I thought I was. Also I have continued powerwalking which must have helped.

Anyway, fresh start today. Next weigh in in a fortnight. Next Monday I'm planning on starting the Couch to 5k. Have downloaded the NHS podcast and loaded it onto my Nano. I can't wait as I really want to start running as it will reduce my workout time from the current 1 hour (for powerwalking) to half an hour and it's time I need to do other things.

Back to Pauling again Grin.

Solo · 11/08/2011 12:57

Awww! thanks everyone and hello :). And Niecie yes, sadly I do need this thread. I have come down a bit (3 1/4lbs), so was probably a lot to do with that awful Aunt of mine! Wink. Having said that, I had terrible sweats for the whole of last week and as I arrived at the dining table, could feel what felt like a running tap down my back and I hoped that my make up wasn't sliding off my face. Ha!!!
Ds has been staying at my Mums and apparently she was telling him off yesterday and he swore. Not at her, but in retort and I'm angry with him for doing it. I think if Mum had had something that didn't need defrosting, she would not have taken us out to Pizza Hut for Ds's birthday.

I ate half a Heavenly Veg pizza, small bowl of salad and a small bowl of ice cream. Didn't even eat a piece of chocolate cake I'd got for Ds. Have not stepped on the scales this morning.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 11/08/2011 16:18

Good afternoon all! Im doing well today, no desire to overeat or binge at all. Had a friend over for lunch and ate just one ham roll and a teeny piece of bakewell slice (Mr Kipling, so you know how tiny they are!). Im still totally off crisps, I can only imagine chewing on slugs whenever I think about them!

Welcome back Bossh, I too have been very sparodic in the last few months for the same reasons! I am totally back in my zone though, and its going great after a few rocky restarts.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 12/08/2011 07:55

C;mon girls, where are you all? Post even if you havent followed the rules, this is a support thread, not just a congratulate ourselves thread Grin

Another great day yesterday, Im am finding that combining the 2 different MP3s is really working for me - and I sleep so well after the overnight success one! I can link to this one for those who dont have it.

Yesterday - 1. Eat what you WANT - oh yes :)

  1. Eat when you are HUNGRY - yep, getting better at waiting til slightly hungrier than I am used to.
  2. Eat CONCIOUSLY - this is probably still my weakness - and I have just eaten my breakfast at the PC. Need to work on this today.
  3. STOP when you are satisfied - Yep, found this easier yesterday.
PositiveAttitude · 12/08/2011 08:35

I am around. Plodding on OK. Off for a weekend away, so wont be here until Sunday/Monday.

Have a good weekend everyone.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 12/08/2011 10:00

Have a great time PA and remember you can still apply the GRs while you are away and still 100% enjoy yourself :)
