Hi Giganticus, if it was me, I would keep sipping water and have a good sleep. Can you go to bed early? If your body is fighting a bug it will wear you out, so sleep is the best cure. (IMO) After a good nights sleep, hopefully you will be able to start eating a bit and getting your energy back tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon. Smile

GiganticusBottomus · 07/09/2011 19:44

Thanks PA - I'm still in bed! I managed to get downstairs around lunchtime but was so tired after 20 mins I had to come back up and sleep, ridiculous!
Dh has got me some lemonade to try but it is a bit warm and revolting! I'll stick with the water I think.
Luckily in the midst of roasting alive the cat has activated his illness seeking radar and has come up on the bed and is sleeping on my leg. It's really helping. Not. Will boot him off (metaphorically of course) in a min.

PositiveAttitude · 07/09/2011 19:55

When you feel better, can I suggest that you change your name to a more positive name a la Paul?? I dont think you should be thinking that you have a giganticus bottom!! Perhaps Pertbum, or giganticusEgo, or smallerBottomus??

I can never move our cats when they fall asleep. They ahve a very superior way of making you feel incredibly cruel, dont they?

GiganticusBottomus · 07/09/2011 20:21

Lol! Thanks but I like giganticusbottomus, it makes me smile rather than be a negative thing, my bottom is rather giganticus but it's by no means the worst part of me!
Yes, this cat in particular smiles at you with his eyes, sort of half closes them when you talk to him. Not that I talk to my cats (ahem). He's gone now it utter disgust as I inconsiderately left the bed when i got up to go to the toilet (how very dare I).

Niecie · 07/09/2011 20:34

Giganticus - I like your name. I have a hankering to change mine to BigBoobiedBertha (after she of the Hiccup books fame) if it hasn't already been taken but keep thinking about the this thread and people thinking it has negative connotations. But one day I might just go and do it because it makes me smile.

And it is better than Snotlout or HairyHooligans.

On a more serious note, fllat coke is supposed to be good for a dodgy tummy isn't it? The sugar in it should help but it sounds like you might be able to tolerate it better cold because warm coke is bleurgh especially when flat. I wonder if the caffeine helps too. Maybe some paracetamol for a headache and the temperature? If you can get it down.

Niecie · 07/09/2011 20:36

Oh poo, where did the evening go. I missed Paul!

Shall try and read it all later.

PositiveAttitude · 07/09/2011 22:01

I like your name too Giganticus and if you want to keep it, then you will keep us all smiling!! Grin I didn't want offend you. It was only an observation, in case you were feeling negative about yourself. - ignore my ramblings|!!

Solo · 07/09/2011 23:23

FAB has inadvertantly renamed HowTo Grin did nobody notice? she called her HotTo which I think is great!!!

The caffeine is a stimulant which will cause you to throw up more, flat lemonade is the one to go for and add a touch of salt too...brings all the electrolytes up or something; replaces the salts and sugars you lose when you have the squits and hurls.

Damned cheek someone else proposing to Paul like that, the harlot!

Dd is fast asleep! school tomorrow!!! it's the beginning of the end...

  • inadvertEntly of course!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/09/2011 07:14

I didnt even notice! I wonder if its possible to be hot & glakit at the same time? Grin

TheOriginalFAB · 08/09/2011 08:02

Ooops Grin

GiganticusBottomus · 08/09/2011 08:14

Morning all. Another day like yesterday and I shall have to re-name myself minimus bottomus from all the weight I'd be losing! Thankfully apart from sore muscles from being sick and a rather gurgly tummy I feel much better today. Thanks for all the sympathy (((sneaky hugs)))

What is glakit?

PA - no offence taken at all Smile

Is the Paul thing worth looking at? Off to try some toast - dh made some bread yesterday (he is a superstar) but I couldn't manage it yesterday but toasted homemade bread for brekkie will be lush!

Solo · 08/09/2011 09:52

Course it is!!!

GB glad you feel a bit better. Dry toast, no spread, butter or anything else on it!

OP posts:
GiganticusBottomus · 08/09/2011 11:04

Oh solo I read your message too late, I had toast with a bit of butter and marmalade - couldn't finish it and then felt sick . Back on the water for the mo!

Niecie · 08/09/2011 11:47

Good to hear you are improving Giganticus. FWIW I never do toast without anything on for a stomach upset. Dry toast is too dry when you are still a bit dehydrated. It turns to goo in your mouth, doesn't it? A little bit of marmalade makes it more palatable and helps with the sugar replacement.

And anyway, according to Aunty Mabel (yes, yes, I know you probably have no idea what ancient CBeebies programme I am talking about so I am showing my age and my level of medical knowledge Grin) but marmalade is supposed to be good for the stomach.

Take it easy though.Smile

TheOriginalFAB · 08/09/2011 14:24

Oh crap. DH is not going to be happy with me.

Solo · 08/09/2011 14:31

What's wrong FAB?

OP posts:
TheOriginalFAB · 08/09/2011 14:33

I am having a difficult day emotionally and have ordered some pills to take and then realised too soon that if you don't cancel within a certain time they will take £40 odd pounds from my account.

GiganticusBottomus · 08/09/2011 14:35

What pills FAB? Do you not want them now? Confused

Solo · 08/09/2011 14:35

Ouch! and you didn't cancel?

OP posts:
Solo · 08/09/2011 14:36

Yes, that was my next question; what pills FAB?

OP posts:
TheOriginalFAB · 08/09/2011 14:43

They are to lose weight or something. I just ordered them and didn't read it all properly. That is so not like me at all. I rarely buy anything on line and when I do I take about a month about it.

TheOriginalFAB · 08/09/2011 14:44

Just emailed DH to tell him.

GiganticusBottomus · 08/09/2011 14:46

FAB! You don't need us to tell you that diet pills don't work and can have terrible side effects, do you?

Solo · 08/09/2011 14:50

FAB sweetie :( please tell me you aren't feeling that desperate. If slimming pills worked, we'd all know about it. Is there any way to cancel the order? (not having a go btw, just worried).
