Whilst shopping with my super slim friend over the weekend I realised just how fat I feel - and getting on the scales provided proof. I've put on 2 stone - 1 stone of which has come on very recently ( think a month or two?!).
Other than looking lumpy and increasingly featureless, my legs are achy and I don't feel like I've woken up properly ever.
So, I'm going to start on the diet today. The plan is to eat lots of veg and fruits, lean meats, and limited carbs. I'm going to have 3 decent sized meals a day, and not snack unless I'm truely hungry.

I'm going to weigh myself and post on here every Tuesday. Anyone who wants to join in please do!

Starting weight; 11st 13.
(Target weight 10st so 1st 13lbs to lose)

So I am really pleases as I am aiming 2lbs a week 2 lose-got a friends wedding middle of August & me ex will be there Blush so want 2 look as good as I can Wink

Lambskin · 08/07/2011 16:58

Ah, I understand now. Yes that is very good.

What's everyone got planned for the weekend? All quiet here for a change at Lamb villas but there is a bottle of wine with my name on it in the fridge as we speak. Nearly killed myself doing Davina Buff Cardio so it is deserved Grin

tinker316 · 08/07/2011 18:36

Think I'm going 2 treat myself with a glass of vino or 2!! Blush

LollipopViolet · 09/07/2011 16:43

I am officially going on holiday with my friend in October, so I've got reason to be uber good with the diet! She's a skinny mini size 10, and very tall and pretty, I'm a short size 16-18 and not so pretty. So, I can't change my height but I can my weight!

I WILL be in a bikini on the beach and I WILL look good!

Although after tomorrow's film screening evening, I may treat myself to wine as I've planned, organized and will have presented the whole evening!

Also will be picking where we're going on the 25th and possibly booking! Very, very excited, first time abroad without family or school, cannot wait! After the last few months it's very well deserved, I feel!

shelfy74 · 13/07/2011 20:35

Hello there,

Very quiet on here again. I know I said I wasn't going to weigh myself until after my period, but my pmt just went on and on and having eventually only started today, I couldn't help but wonder and ended up weighing myself this morning.

I need to log it so I don't forget the figures, so:

Starting weight 16/6: 14st 2lb
Weight 24/6: 13st 8lb
Weight 1/7: 13st 7lbs
Weight 2/7: 13st 5lbs
Weight 13/7: 13st 4lbs

Loss since last weigh-in (11 days ago): 1lb (not much but ok-ish considering ghastly never-ending pmt)
Overall weightloss to date: 12lbs

I really want to have lost a whole stone and hopefully be well on the way to losing my next half by the end of July. It would be lovely to crack the 13st to 12st barrier before the holidays.

I will weigh in again on Friday morning and see if there's any change.

Hope everyone else is continuing to do well.

moosemama · 13/07/2011 20:41

Ok - that's just weird. I wrote the above post, but as soon as I pressed posted it changed my user name and posted it under someone else's name. Confused Anyway - have reported the post to MNHQ and am hoping they sort it out.

In the meantime, having logged out and in again, here's hoping this one appears under my own name. Confused

tinker316 · 14/07/2011 08:26

I can feel the dreaded P is on it's way Sad
So I may weigh myself on Monday!!

tinker316 · 14/07/2011 08:30

DP bought the kinnect 4 xbox this week- I've bought the shape up game 4it & it is really good Smile
I have a wii, but I find it so much better quality & easier, by not having 2 hold controllers!
So hopefully with a combination of doing that, with running once a week & shredding 3 times a week, the weight will start 2 drop off Wink

moosemama · 14/07/2011 11:00

Well, its happened again. Weighed in too early and had only lost a pound in eleven days. Weighed in again this morning - and ......... I've dropped another three overnight! Confused

So here we go again - updating my details:

Starting weight 16/6: 14st 2lb
Weight 24/6: 13st 8lb
Weight 1/7: 13st 7lbs
Weight 2/7: 13st 5lbs
Weight 13/7: 13st 4lbs
Weight 14/7: 13st 1lb Confused

Overall weightloss to date: 15lbs! Grin

Right, so, my next mini goal will be to lose another 4lbs and crack the 13st barrier before I go on my holidays in a couple of weeks. Hoping to be at least 12st 11lbs by the time we go.

You are right to delay weighing Tinker - I should have waited as, as you can see, I suddenly dropped the 3lbs I'd been hanging onto for almost two weeks the day after my period started.

X box kinect sounds good. My boys would be so jealous. I really need some more fun ways of losing weight and some equipment to use at home. Am still planning to buy a decent rower later in the summer. Hoping it will help kickstart the weightloss when the inevitable plateau happens.

Just worked out my potential weightloss between now and Christmas. If I did lose 2lbs a week (which obviously I won't) I would exceed my final goal and hit 9st 11lbs the Friday before Christmas. So, bearing in mind my weightloss will probably slow down the longer I'm on the diet - I'm not likely to lose 2lb every week and am bound to hit a plateau at some point, I'm hoping my goal of 10st 4lbs by Christmas is not too far off the mark. If I'm honest though, I would be chuffed to bits to be under 11 stone by Christmas - hitting goal weight would just be the icing on the christmas cake! Grin

Will come and weigh-in again tomorrow, although am obviously not expecting much more weightloss this week.

moosemama · 14/07/2011 11:00

Phew - actually managed to post as myself that time. Grin

Muminator2000 · 14/07/2011 11:04

I joined slimming world 2 weeks ago and I have at least 6 stone to loose. I think the problem is working and juggling a family I grab food of convenience and well not to mention eating my emotions too. Anyhow in my first 2 weeks I have lost 8 1/2 pounds. I know I have to do it for myself but some days I really lack motivation. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

LollipopViolet · 14/07/2011 11:09

Right, I weighed in again this morning.

I've misplaced another one of my lbs, I am now:

180lbs, or 12 stone 8lbs!!!!

Yay! One step closer to the bikini for holiday! My tankini (basically a vest and shorts one so covers a lot of me!) is getting loose round the belly!

Oh, and my 2 closest friends have got engaged, so need to find a nice way of celebrating with them. I'm thinking spa day (4 friends in total) and a nice meal - anyone recommend anywhere in Manchester that won't break the bank? :)

LollipopViolet · 14/07/2011 14:38

OK, ignore the 12 stone 8.

The converter I use to work out weight writes it as 12.8 stone, so I think that's 12 stone 13.

So got a bit more to go lol

Lambskin · 14/07/2011 18:37

This thread has gone from tumble weed territory to crowded since I last looked in, and that's just moose/shelfy Grin

Glad everyone's doing so well!

Hello Muminator, well done for losing 81/2 pounds in 2 weeks! That shows you have motivation Smile. Do you have a goal you're aiming for in the not too distant future? I find small achievable goals are better motivators than thinking too far ahead to that marvellous magical time when you're x stone or a size x. I've lost over a stone (and got a pretty good tax rebate - yay!) so we're having a Chinese takeaway tonight, but it's a 'healthy' one of steamed fish and vegetables so it's a treat but not blowing the diet. This way I feel good because I've earnt it, and I'll still feel good later when it's gone and I'm still here!

Keep on it people!

moosemama · 14/07/2011 19:39

Oi! Grin

That's me - why use one word when ten will do! Wink

Hello Muminator (great name Grin). I would agree with Lambskin that goals are definitely a big motivator. I have big long-term goals, but also much more achieveable short-term ones, such as getting under the next stone barrier (currently hoping to get under 13 stone) or losing that next half a stone. Schedule in some treats along the way if it helps, say a new haircut after the first stone lost or having your nails done every 7lbs that melt away.

Whenever I've been tempted, or someone has tried to tempt me to eat something I shouldn't, I fix my mind on a mental image of me as I want to be - not perfect or unrealistic, just slimmer, fitter and healthier (like I was 15 years ago Wink) and I find that really helps.

You're right, you do need to do it for yourself as well, whatever your reason - so you'll be able to buy nicer clothes, so you'll feel healthier, so you'll be fitter and less exhausted - keep reminding yourself that you're doing it for you and you deserve to give yourself the amount of time and energy getting there will require. Its so easy for us mums to do everything for everyone else and keep putting ourselves to the bottom of the list - but the truth is, not only do we deserve to do something for ourselves, but if we don't take care of own health, ultimately we can't look after everyone else effectively.

Stick with it and stick with us, you're doing brilliantly so far!

Lambskin · 15/07/2011 07:44

Aw moose! I was in fact referring to your dual personalities rather than your verbosity whilst posting, Grin

Not weighing myself today, weighed in yesterday at exactly the same as last week, and after the Chinese last night I have an inkling I may have put on so I'm giving myself a fighting chance and back to being good (sort of) today. It is however my wedding anniversary today so no doubt there will be some drinking going on.

Strawberries and green tea so far, and Davina Boxing later so off to a good start.

moosemama · 15/07/2011 13:03

Grin Lambskin - I have a bit of a rep in SN and on my postnatal thread for writing enormous posts. In fact I am the record holder in our PN group for the longest post ever! Grin

So anyway, weighed in this morning - unsurprisingly, no change from yesterday, unless you count 2 ounces on, so still 13st 1lb (and a bit Wink). Hoping for 12st 13lb next week.

Just been for a really long walk - left at 10.10 am, walked back through the door at 12.45 and didn't sit down once the whole time. I did let dd walk round the park with me, so that bit was more of a slow amble than a proper walk and I bought a stack of books in the charity shop in the next village which were really heavy to push back uphill in the pushchair with a sleeping dd in it as well.

Am exhausted and a lovely lobster hue again now - not to mention ravenous.

Have to make the most of walking between now and next Friday, as once the boys are off school the best I'll get is a slow amble to the local park, especially with ds1 still suffering from exhaustion. Will have to do do some more online workouts instead, as still haven't decided what dvd to buy. Dh has finally dug out my old weights for me, so am thinking about starting to try and do some toning stuff as well now. My arms need A LOT of help. Blush

tinker316 · 15/07/2011 14:02

Wow!!
I've done a shred session & 15mins on your shape on kinnect after doing a night shift Blush
I'm pooped now Confused
Off 2 bed now Smile

Lambskin · 15/07/2011 14:16

Just had to share - am wearing size 12 skinny jeans that I bought a couple of optimistic years ago before I really beefed up! I can't wear any of my 14s anymore (even pyjamas!), I keep having to hoike (?) them up and look like I've got a saggy arse. Feel so scared I'm going to ruin it all at some stage though. I just can't believe I'm a size 12!

When I was in my twenties I couldn't understand why everybody kept going on about being a size 12, I was a 8-10 and being a 12 sounded fat to me!

Ah, bless stupid young thin me.

moosemama · 15/07/2011 14:26

Well done on the exercise tinker - have a good sleep.

Lambskin - that's fantastic. Don't spoil it by worrying, just enjoy that fantastic feeling of getting back into your jeans. Well done!

Lambskin · 15/07/2011 14:53

Thank you moose Grin

LollipopViolet · 21/07/2011 20:48

Well, after a while away, I'm back.

Did my first spinning class today. Ouch.

But, at the same time I feel great!

moosemama · 22/07/2011 20:04

Where is everyone? No-one weighing in today?

Weighed myself yesterday, so didn't bother this morning:

Starting weight 16/6: 14st 2lb
Weight 24/6: 13st 8lb
Weight 1/7: 13st 7lbs
Weight 2/7: 13st 5lbs
Weight 13/7: 13st 4lbs
Weight 14/7: 13st 1lb
Weight 21/7: 12st 13lbs

Overall weightloss to date: 17lbs!

Hoping for 12st 11lbs next Friday.

I was surprised I'd lost this week. Was sure I'd gone into starvation mode, as I've had the week from hell and not had time to eat properly, skipped a few meals and been well under my basic calorie allowance several times, as well as being extremely active. Have tried hard to get my eating back on track today though.

LollipopViolet · 22/07/2011 21:42

Well, some damage done but basically I've put on, but not even a pound. Still need to lose about 70lbs and hopefully 24 by holiday in October!

moosemama · 22/07/2011 22:17

I would say that you've maintained rather than gained then Lollipop, as weight can fluctuate by a couple of pounds here and there anyway.
