Whilst shopping with my super slim friend over the weekend I realised just how fat I feel - and getting on the scales provided proof. I've put on 2 stone - 1 stone of which has come on very recently ( think a month or two?!).
Other than looking lumpy and increasingly featureless, my legs are achy and I don't feel like I've woken up properly ever.
So, I'm going to start on the diet today. The plan is to eat lots of veg and fruits, lean meats, and limited carbs. I'm going to have 3 decent sized meals a day, and not snack unless I'm truely hungry.

I'm going to weigh myself and post on here every Tuesday. Anyone who wants to join in please do!

Starting weight; 11st 13.
(Target weight 10st so 1st 13lbs to lose)

Woohoo! Just been asked to take pictures/video at a friend's event on Saturday!!! :)

Think I shall celebrate with chocolate with an apple and glass of cranberry juice :)

itsnicetobenice · 29/06/2011 18:26

whoop whoop i lost 3lb this week!!!!! i am now 11st 4 woo hoo!
This last week i made sure i ate all my alloted calories and unlike the week before i didnt do as much exersise in fact tbh i didnt do anything extra. Am quite pleased.

moosemama · 29/06/2011 18:56

Great news Lollipop, a few more of those and your business will be setting itself up.

Well done itsnice! Grin I've been trying to eat all my calories this week, but am not expecting to see a loss if the last couple of times I weighed myself are anything to go by. Exercise has really gone by the board with a poorly ds at home, so am just sticking with the healthy eating and calorie control and will try to redouble my efforts next week - I think I'm going to have to put this week down to damage limitation.

LollipopViolet · 29/06/2011 19:40

Thanks moose :) I'm doing this one for free, as it's a very lovely friend's friend, and she's only a student. But afterwards, I'm going to ask various people what they think of the end product and what I could reasonably charge small businesses/self employed people for similar services.

I'm going to do a Friday weigh in, but think I've done well so far. Currently, I'm 81.8kgs, or 12st 12, thanks to a handy converter site! So we'll see what the scales say on Friday :) That's lower than I thought I started at so I'm already happy. Don't know a good goal weight for a 5ft 2 21 year old though Confused

Anyone on MyFitnessPal? I've just joined and would like some friends :)

I tried Food Focus but really couldn't get on with it, for some reason. Apparently MFP is supposed to be better - I like that it has an app for my Blackberry so I can log things as I go and not have to remember when I get home :)

tinker316 · 30/06/2011 09:13

I'm on my fitness pal Smile

LollipopViolet · 30/06/2011 11:51

Hmm, probably should've left my username on there. It's the same as on here, just to keep things simple :)

Lovemy2babies · 30/06/2011 15:11

I've lost 2lbs whoop whoop!

Calorie counting and running is working! Grin

LollipopViolet · 30/06/2011 15:18

Hmm, need to do some exercise today, still got uni work to get on with though. Might give my Ibiza Dance Workout a go, got it on itunes ages ago and have yet to stick with it for long!

moosemama · 30/06/2011 22:22

Evenin' all.

Sorry haven't read the thread. Been blooming baking and decorating cupcakes all day for the school's summer fair this weekend. Have just boxed up the last batch and collapsed onto the sofa.

Talk about temptation, but I've been really good - everyone has tried one except for me and I didn't even so much as lick a spoon the whole time. [proud Moose emoticon]

Still no exercise, ds1 and I are both at the hospital for blood tests tomorrow morning and then he's going to try and go into school for his project day. Don't think I'll go walking though, in case I'm miles away and they call me to bring him home.

Never mind, its almost a new week - diet wise - and I am determined to get my exercise in next week.

LollipopViolet · 30/06/2011 22:33

I'm finding this myfitnesspal thing really good, I've got a calorie goal, I'm sticking to it, and it's easy to log everything - and there's LOTS of support from the other members, plus some utterly inspirational before/after photos.

I'm struggling with exercise though. I'm spending a lot of time sat working, quite tempted to get some wrist/ankle weights and do some toning exercises while I'm sat typing...

Lambskin · 01/07/2011 07:46

Wahay day!

Well I'm the same as last week - 11 st 1 but have gone down several ounces (hey that counts!) and my period is due tomorrow so I'm actually quite pleased, and I've only been doing yoga as exercise. Good grief, listen to all my excuses!

Come on everyone! Good luck!

erebus · 01/07/2011 08:15

Mm. 11stone 11 lbs.

Just like last week in fact!

But hey, I haven't been particularly mindful about what I've been eating this past week so I'm pleased it's not a gain!

Will get stuck in again today and hope for a loss next Friday.

tinker316 · 01/07/2011 09:57

I'm leona316 on my fitness pal Smile

Lambskin · 01/07/2011 10:13

I've added you tinker Smile

tinker316 · 01/07/2011 10:16

Thanks Lambskin Smile

moosemama · 01/07/2011 11:27

Hi, mad, mad morning here - ds1 and to the hospital for bloods first thing, only dh forgot ds was supposed to be fasting and gave him some porridge before I got up. Hmm Couldn't find my veins (never can) so ended up with both elbows and both hands done, then had to run my hand under a hot tap to get the veins to come up. Got some in the end though.

So the weigh-in:

Starting weight 16/6: 14st 2lbs
Weight last Friday 24/6: 13st 8lbs
Weight today 1/7: 13st 7 (well actually 13st 6lbs and 6 ounces)
Loss this week: 1lb (and a couple of ounces Wink)
Overall loss: 9lbs (and a couple of ounces Wink)

So, I'm happy with that. I was only expecting to maintain, as I haven't done any significant exercise at all this week, although am being very strict about the diet. I'm going to try and get stuck in and do a lot more next week though and will hope for at least a 2lb loss on those scales next Friday morning.

Lambskin, I bet you'll drop a couple of pounds once you get your period out of the way.

LollipopViolet · 01/07/2011 13:08

Forgot to weigh myself before I ate or drank anything, so will do a weighin tomorrow.

Big news! I'm going back to uni in January to get my degree! I can get the full honours if I go back, so I've spoken to the finance people, and I can get funding, so all good.

Can't find a temp job though, are temping agencies any good?

moosemama · 01/07/2011 14:09

Fantastic news Lollipop, I am really pleased for you! Grin

I used to work through temping agencies, but it was quite a long time ago. It was fine, could pick and choose when I did and didn't want to work and a lot of them even offer paid leave after so long working for them etc.

kkey21 · 01/07/2011 15:49

11.8 here!

3lb loss which I'm thrilled about! Aim to be 11.6 by next Friday. Lots of green tea and 3 x in the gym seem to be working for me so far. I'd really like to break the 11st barrier by the first week of August if possible!

I start a new job next week which should help my weight loss too as I'll have less time to obsess over what I can eat next!

moosemama · 01/07/2011 16:51

Well done kkey21!

Everyone seems to swear by green tea, but I can't stand the taste (committed coffee drinker). I have been sticking to the Pukka detox and cleanse teas, but am wondering if I should give green tea another try.

I have been sitting here planning the cupcakes I'm making for the dc's teachers as their end of year gifts. Its not exactly helping my willpower looking at lots of pictures of yummy cupcakes, especially as I still have a tonne left over from the summer fair baking. Hmm

Lambskin · 01/07/2011 17:08

Well done everyone!

My veins are shy too moose, I still have small holes in the backs of my hands where I had blood taken when I was 12. Nice.

That's good news Loolipop, you can relax a bit now. Temping's a good idea, my sister did it for years and it can be quite well paid.

I'm into the green tea in a big way too kkey21, I don't miss coffee or black tea at all now.

Just got back from a wedding reception (ds1 has end of school ball tonight) and I had 2 glasses of champagne for lunch. Ho hum Smile

The weekend has started early for me. That 11 st marker is turning into a bit of a mirage, I keep getting close and then oops! no, it's still shimmering in the distance!

LollipopViolet · 01/07/2011 19:16

Yay! I think I've turned a corner in terms of all the RL stuff! Have decided that as I'm getting a little bit each month due to DLA, and am awaiting payment on a freelance job, I'm going to spend the time til uni volunteering. I've sent an application to help out the Douglas Macmillan hospice here. Hopefully I get it, that'd be a great experience :) It also means I won't have to let my friend down re: going on holiday, because I should be OK to have a week off, and I'll definitely have enough money! :)

Have also spoken to one of the girls whose year I'd be in, and she's said I can be her production photographer on all her films from September til May, if I'm free on any shoots before January :) Think I'm going to like that year :)

Oh, and I've come in under calories again today, so all good, just the weigh in tomorrow morning before I go to help my friend at her event :)

LollipopViolet · 01/07/2011 21:27

Feeling very down all of a sudden due to some pretty pathetic reasons...

Must not eat junk tomorrow...
