I am not hungry but want to comfort eat.

Ephiny · 11/06/2011 13:41

Don't do it FAB, you know you don't really want to! Is there anything else you can do instead?

TheOriginalFAB · 11/06/2011 14:10

I have no appetite at all. I am going to read for a bit then paint my nails.

BsshBossh · 11/06/2011 21:14

AF has paid me a visit today. I was wondering why on earth I was so ravenous yesterday and today's the same. Oh well. I too may have to hold off weigh in next week...

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 11/06/2011 22:29

Oh I am struggling this evening. DH and his selfish arsehole of a father have had another falling out. I am so angry, and so heartbroken for DH and I just want to EAT.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 11/06/2011 23:28

Was really good today, but this evening the munchies kicked right in again. No AF still and I'm sitting here listening to Dd throwing a crying fit ~ totally hysterical Hmm and I spilled cheapo superglue on my fingers and can't get it off and it's annoying me...

PositiveAttitude · 12/06/2011 09:18

Oh dear, Oh dear to everyone.

Hope today is better all round!!

Music festival here this weekend, so lots of drunk -hungover-- teenagers to feed at stupid times of the day and night. Hmm I spent yesterday afternoon baking up yummy stuff for the hoardes, so I just had to try a little of each of the cakes/biscuits etc.
Today they are going to be muddy, hungover, hungry teenagers...... oh hte joys!! Hmm

BsshBossh · 12/06/2011 19:42

Since AF visited me this weekend, I've been ravenous and have definitely stuffed myself - not helped by the wet weather that kept us inside and baking lots of goodies with DD!

But it's interesting, because my lack of hunger all weekend (due to overeating) has meant I've not appreciated a single meal. It's really brought home to me that physical hunger makes food taste awesome, that I really appreciate it and savour it when my body's physically ready for it. When I eat without hunger, the food is simple pah.

This has been a real lesson for me. Tomorrow, I get back on the straight and narrow.

BsshBossh · 12/06/2011 19:43

simply pah.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 12/06/2011 21:04

Hi everyone :)

I've been hit and miss this weekend - not helped by the weather!

I am getting thinner though. Not sure that the scales are doing much, but I'm going in around the middle, clothes are fitting better/differently and I am slowly slowly moving into a smaller size.
It is exhaustion that is the killer for me, I am so sleep deprived that I'm compensating with food. I am really hoping that DS2 starts to sleep a bit better soon so that I can really get a grip on this.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 12/06/2011 22:49

Well done Ali :)

I'm with all you overeaters/compensators this weekend. Have not put on the weight as I'd assumed, but not lost anything either...am grateful for small mercies.

Tomorrow is another day.

I am Confused. I rarely feel hungry and are not losing weight. I am eating but not as much as before I started this plan but sometimes I have to make myself eat but my tummy is stuff too big and my weight is staying the same.

blimey · 13/06/2011 20:53

fab maybe you just need to eat even less so you only eat when you are hungry - are you exercising?
Sometimes I am surprised how little I need to eat on this method - I think I eat a bit more than I need to not be hungry because it amazes me so much how little I need
the thread is quiet at the moment!

SoloIsAHotCougar · 13/06/2011 23:09

It is quiet isn't it.

Fab, are you quite certain you aren't hungry? and I'm aware how stupid that question sounds, however, I also know that if I have not eaten enough then I don't lose weight. Admittedly, that was pre PM, but I think the same would apply on PM too.
Hope I haven't offended you with that.

TheOriginalFAB · 14/06/2011 08:28

Should have been still not stuff.

I was having the real hunger pangs in my stomach but for the last 10 days I haven't had that. I am just not interested in eating. Not doing proper exercising. Food just doesn't interest me and that is weird as I am a real comfort eater. Just not bothered about eating.

Niecie · 14/06/2011 09:54

Hello,

Yeah, it has been quiet hasn't it. I have been keeping away because I realised I went on rather a lot last week and you all probably need a break from my pontificating. Blush

Also, I put on a couple of lbs although I think they AF related as they have gone now. I always feel a fraud posting when the weight is going up and the rest of you are doing so much better.

God I sound really needy. Blush I'm not I am fine, just wishing progress was more obvious... and instant. Does anybody else get bored of thinking about it? It's weird, I am not bored about reading anybody else's story, just thinking about my food and what I should and shouldn't be eating and when.

FAB are you drinking a lot? I wonder if fluids are taking the edge off your appetite. If you have also been retaining fluids for whatever reason it might explain the lack of loss.

BsshBossh · 14/06/2011 09:59

FAB, why don't you start exercising again - get your energy revving and see how your body responds. Perhaps your body/metabolism just needs a big shakeup (literally!).

AF is still on her visit and the last three days' (over-)eating has been all over the place. But back on track today. Have obviously over-stuffed myself as I'm not hungry at all this morning so will only eat when my tummy properly rumbles.

GreenToes · 14/06/2011 10:08

Hi all

I'm back after a weekend at a festival and didn't do as badly as I could've done, but also could've done a lot better. I went with a big group of friends so it was hard to eat when I wanted as we has to try and eat between the bands we wanted to see, and I absolutely hare feeling like I'm an inconvenience so didn't like to try and eat at different times :( bit silly really!

I definitely ate what I wanted (lots of lovely things from the veggie food caravan!) and tried to eat consciously. On Sunday it poured with rain and I got soaked through so ended up feeling ravenous - I was too cold to think about whether it was actual hunger or emotional.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend :)

Niecie I like your posts, they are always very insightful and helpful!

FAB sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down/fed up, hopefully your hunger will be back soon and you'll start feeling more positive about it all :)

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 14/06/2011 10:10

Hi everyone. I've given myself a kick up the bum this morning. I have 3 months until this wedding, and I must fit the dress. I need to focus.

Fab - is other stuff bothering you? You 'sound' very flat. Share if it helps :)

Niecie - yes I want it all to happen quickly. I went into Sainsbury's yesterday to look for some cheap trousers, and a 20 is far too big but an 18 just slightly too tight across the tummy - the same as the two lovely pairs of summer trousers I have upstairs in my wardrobe. If I could just shift another 5lbs or so then lots more things would fit, and I am cross because I am sabotaging both my weight and my bank balance by mucking about!!!
I find I think about food less doing this than any other weight loss method, because I can eat whatever I like and there are no 'rules' in terms of what - it is just the when and how much

solo - well done for not putting any on :) It must be becoming more ingrained than you think!

TheOriginalFAB · 14/06/2011 10:21

I think I am drinking okay and not too much.
I have just cleaned out the piggies and felt hungry so I had a salad. Grab the opportunity! Normally I would wait a bit to see if I really am hungry and have water.
I haven't exercised for a few days as I just haven't had the chance and I have also been a lot of pain.
I am a bit flat. Posted too much on other threads though Blush.

MissingMySleep · 14/06/2011 11:31

I need to do something, I am 5'2" and DH is 6' - he only weighs a pound or so more than me... and he is not slim....I do not want to weigh more than him. When we met he weighed at least 5 stone more than me, if not more.

I have the book and have not stuck with it, so here goes, attempt 2

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 14/06/2011 12:34

FAB - I have just seen your other thread (((hugs)))

Missing - my DH and I are the same heights as you and your husband. My DH is also not slim, and there should be a bigger gap between our weight than there is!! Good luck :)

MissingMySleep · 14/06/2011 14:28

maybe I will just feed up the DH

PositiveAttitude · 14/06/2011 15:55

GreenToes - Were you at the IOW festival. I live here, just down the road and I spent the weekend feeding hoardes of festivalling teenagers. Sunday was sooooooo grim!!!
Just driven past and hundreds and hundreds of tents have been left at the camp site!

Welcome Missmysleep. Smile

I seem to be getting back on track a bit more today after a few AF bad days. Wasn't too bad last evening, then was too tired to think properly, but unfortunately not too tired to eat! Hmm
Off to swimming later, so will hopefully feel a bit more energised tonight.
