Morning

Not read all the thread but see a big congrats to *Only" for the 4lbs loss. Seems like it's been a difficult week for all with half tem... Hope you're all feeling a bit more positive today?

Dying of TOTM - miserable as sin and want to scream at mostly everything (animate and inanimate). Clinging onto the fact that my jeans still fit though when I normally put on 2lbs in water, so hopefully that means that I've started to counteract the bad food weekend with the IL's.

blondes I would definitely do what willaby suggested - still carry on eating what you're eating, but track it so at least you can get an idea of how many PP you're eating. If eating 2 meals a day, but they're 15-20PP each time, then you may be able to find ways of making those 2 meals add up to 29PP. And once you do that, you may find that 2 meals at 29PP isn't enough, so you may have to spread the PP over 3 meals. Basically what I'm saying is that by taking baby steps towards how you used to eat and how you used to behave with food, you may find yourself in a position to eat more regularly and more healthily, which is only going to make you feel better and give you more energy to deal with everything.

Good luck with WI's today!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/06/2011 08:53

you are right willa and noway i need to try and get back into ww,as otherwise i will be back to where i started :(

'sighs'

will try and eat breakie/fruit

Back to the grind.... Had a good week in the Lakes - have no idea of the disaster it might have been - although size smaller trousers still fit, so can't have undone the whole of the previous month's work.

back to tracking though.... (Sorry not going to be able to catch up!)

NoWayNoHow · 06/06/2011 11:01

blondes I was actually thinking more along the lines of health rather than the danger of putting the weight back on.

Eating more frequently, and eating things with a better nutritional value are going to make you stronger. Yes, losing a bit of weight will be a side effect, but shouldn't be the ultimate goal when you've gone through what you've gone through.

Oh, and please feel free to tell me shut up with my pseudo-psychology Grin

Daclaireh · 06/06/2011 11:30

I don't feel so bad now after catching up on the goings on. I did relatively well over the weekend apart from last night. I went to a harvesters and had a lovely tea :)
Only you shouldn't really weigh yourself more than once a week, sometimes you can go up and down during the week, so 1 WI on the same day at the same time each week is the best way. But Well Done on the loss so far. WW recommend that a loss of 2lb a week is ideal and at that rate it will take 21 weeks to lose 3st.
Starryeyedmama Well done on the loss :)
PGTip hope you do join WW, you'll feel so much better by taking that 1st step and we'll all be here to support you :)
Jojo and Lola Don't be to disheartened. Today is a new day and a new pp allowance :)

herdingcats · 06/06/2011 11:41

Lost track of this thread again< useless emotion>
I'm a bit skittish today. Got a letter on saturday to tell me my discogram is today Shock i've to be at the hospital for 1.30 and will be home sometime tonight.
PP are out of the window today as I'm so uptight about it, I feel sick if I try to eat.
Good luck everyone at WI this week Smile

Daclaireh · 06/06/2011 11:43

Herdingcats hope all goes well today xx

OnlyWantsOne · 06/06/2011 12:01

Banana and WW yogurt for breakfast 1pp

Salad wrap for lunch. 7pp

Dinner will be ham and boiled egg salad

Does this sound sensible?

HeyH0 · 06/06/2011 12:30

Herding Best of luck.

Only Sounds like you'll be way under your PP allowance, but I have no idea what the points are for ham... Having said that, what you're planning seems reasonably balanced. If you're genuinely satisfied after you've eaten & aren't ravenous between meals it's fine, personally, I'd be starving within a couple of hours of eating your breakfast. I like to mix 30g of oats (3PP) through yoghurt & leave it in the fridge over-night, by morning the oats have softened & bulked out the yog; that fills me up until lunchtime.

HaughtyChuckle · 06/06/2011 14:02

Good luck on weigh ins today

I'm dreading mine Sad

Humphreythehamster · 06/06/2011 15:01

Could I jump into this thread please? I'm doing WW as my friend is a leader and has handed me a pack (I did ask, she didn't just think I was too lardy :) ) I'm not going to meetings but a bit of online support would be lovely. I started 3 weeks ago and have lost 11lbs so far, I'm hoping for another 20 before I go on holiday but think it might be pushing it. Ultimately I want to lose 50lbs Shock

So far I am finding it really easy, except for going out, is there an online guide anywhere?

I've read some posts on here and you're all so amazing :)

mistlethrush · 06/06/2011 15:30

Hi humphrey - there is a big on line thing - but much more info if you're a member I'm afraid - although if you say where you're going I'm sure we could work out something for you!

11lb is great! Wish I'd managed that in 3 wks - but still happy at my progress so far - although I'll be happy to STS this week having missed a week by being away for half term... I think I might have used the excuse of walking a bit too much....

Some of us are planning to be around for a while, so don't worry about that.

vnmum · 06/06/2011 16:48

hi all,
heyho i like your idea of oats in yoghurt for breakfast, i might try that

I went for a run today with DH, was planning on doing 5 k but i took the wrong route and only ended up doing 3.2k in 20 mins.

I also tried a dress on that i had in the wardrobe yesterday, it is an evening dress that i last tried on before christmas and i couldn't fasten it all the way up but yesterday it was actually abit loose. I am planning on wearing it to DH's summer ball with work so i may have to consider maintaining till then otherwise it will be too big and i will have to buy a new dress which to be honest i can't really afford.

welcome humphrey

OnlyWantsOne · 06/06/2011 18:54

Quick question - how do you work out the PP values for some things? Pasta? Plain pasta that I may put in salad etc?

Also if I cook some thing how do I work out the PP of my portion. I buy meat from the butchers so doesn't always have the specific values on -

HaughtyChuckle · 06/06/2011 18:54

I hit my first Goal :)

I've lost 14.5lbs before my holiday I got a purty stone of WW leader lol

How is all

OnlyWantsOne · 06/06/2011 18:58

Fantastic news!!!

vnmum · 06/06/2011 19:48

well done haughty!!
onlywants if you have access to esource the values should all be on there for basics. I normally go off raw portions as that is what i would use in a recipe

DirtyMartini · 06/06/2011 20:29

That's awesome, Haughty!

I'd like to join you lot, if that's OK.

I did WW last year when DD was a newborn and dropped a stone, but gave up during a long period of family illness & hideous stress re DP's job. DD turned one recently; in the past year I have regained all the weight I lost and more.

So today, I started again. I do online membership. Just getting to grips with ProPoints, as I was on the old system last year. Today was tough but I'm so relieved to be facing up to this and tackling it again after lots of procrastination - hopefully for the last time!

I have about 4 stone to lose (am 15 stone at present). 11 stone was always a really good weight for me providing I kept fit; below that I go a bit too skinny (unlikely as it sounds).

DirtyMartini · 06/06/2011 20:30

Oh, and: can anyone tell me how many points in a bottle of Beck's Blue (the alcohol-free stuff)? On the old points system it was half a point, I think, but now I can't find anything to tell me the new value ...

HaughtyChuckle · 06/06/2011 20:58

thanks all

LittleFriendSusan · 06/06/2011 22:16

Hello all :)

Just checking in after being AWOL for a while - thought I'd posted before the bank holiday weekend but can see no trace of it so maybe not! No chance of name-checking all so will just say well done to all who lost and commiserations to those who didn't!

Well, we too went camping - 6 days in N Yorkshire. We came back on Thursday just as the sun came out Grin, had a good time though, despite the not-so-great weather. Didn't track all week, ate loads, drank even more, takeout when we got back, and more crap since then. Girlie lunch / get together on Saturday and no exercise whatsoever for almost 2 weeks + TOTM and... somehow I have lost 3lbs??? Not sure how that has happened but not complaining! So that took me to 10% too - but wasn't my leader who weighed me and I didn't realise till too late, so no key-ring tonight, but I will be mentioning it next week! Also only 1lb from healthy BMI now, so all in all a good result!!

Androbob - oh dear at your dad & the car key. We once had to get Green Flag out to a campsite in Weymouth as DD managed to lock the key in the car. They didn't charge us though, thank goodness! I love Scarborough Grin. Had many a holiday there as a child and still love wandering along North Bay (tend to avoid the other end though!). They do the loveliest lemon sorbet-topped ice creams there too - well done for avoiding them!!

OnlyWantsOne · 07/06/2011 08:10

it's a new day ladies, new PP allowance

any one want a quick stats list? I'd love some encouragemnt and see how youre all doing

herdingcats · 07/06/2011 10:30

Grr post lost due to MN going offline!
Hello all ,having a quiet day today after procedure yesterday. It all went wel ,if a bit scary( I was awake throughout). Sore and tired ,but will soon be back to normal.
Good luck with all the WI this week.
I am hoping to get my 10% and break into the next stone bracket. Would so like to be there for our summer ball in 2.5 weeks. Fingers crossed.

Daclaireh · 07/06/2011 10:48

1.5lbs loss for me. Was hoping for more but chuffed as it is a loss. Going to stick to it a bit better this week and hoping for 2lbs+ next week. I'm aiming to get at least 10 activity pp, as I don't do anything at all at the moment and then I can build on it.
Fingers crossed for you herdingcats I'm glad the procedure went well for you.
LittleFriendSusan Well Done on the 3lb loss, that' a great surprise for you :)
Welcome Dirty* I also have 4st to lose after my DS was born, I'm hoping to achieve this by xmas, just do-able if you lose 2lb a week until then.
