Thinbride, I've been waiting for you to come back, so glad you have. Don't hang your head in shame, we are all friends on here Grin. Quick slap on the botty for thinking we would shame you, a leg up from me, to get you back on and if motivation is what you need, well all you need to do is holla for Dinky the queen of motivation and pep talks, she is one wonder girl in that department.

So glad you've come back to the fold. We are all still here and all still got lbs to lose, so you're not alone girl.

You can now swap stories with guitar girl, if my memory does not fail me (as i too have been missing for a while) but I'm sure she's planning a wedding too [hope my memory hasn't failed me emoticon] Blush.

Glad everyone has had a good weigh in, take care and have a good weekend.

knottyhair · 19/06/2011 08:08

Morning. Very quiet on here at the mo. Come on thinbride, there's a leg up here for you as well Smile.
Opened the door to DP's sister & BIL yesterday, and they were both very shocked in a good way Grin, and said I looked like I'd lost loads of weight. Made my day! Having a day off Jillian today, but we're going on a 5 mile walk later so better than nothing. Beans on toast for breakfast, going to take a wrap for a picnic on the walk, then pasta with ham, tomatoes & courgette for tea later. Hope everyone is out doing nice things xx

Shaxx · 19/06/2011 08:38

Thinbride! No need for shame here. I've probably sts since you've left Smile
Come back to our merry group.

Knotty its so brilliant when that happens Grin It even makes my day if someone just asks casually 'have you lost a bit of weight?'. (though no one has said that to me for a while. sob).
I did enjoy your er erm unique rendition of The Shamen. It was delightful Hmm Grin

Well I went for my run yesterday morning then went to a bbq where there was lots of great food on offer. I did try to stick to just the chicken and salads but did end up having banoffee pie and cake.
I'm going to do my 3 day 1000 cal thing again in the hope I'll even out and mayhap lose some weight.

breakfast yoghurt and fruit
lunch don't know yet but some kind of salad
dinner dahl and rice

I'm booked into a spin class this evening.

Have a good day everyone.

dinkystinky · 19/06/2011 12:17

Hello all - hope you are all having a lovely fathers day today. Iluv I made that cyt beetroot choc fudge cake yesterday as parents down and as a thank you for looking after the kids for 2 days - is lovely 305 cals for a reasonable slice but so rich you can't really have too much in one go anyway! Doing roast chicken corn on cob and beetroot and walnut and feta salad for lunch followed by cherries and goats cheese - yum. Thin bride - niice to see you on and hope you are ok. Have you kept going to WW?

Shaxx · 19/06/2011 15:13

I take it this is the recipe?
www.channel4.com/4food/recipes/tv-show/cook-yourself-thin-recipes/beetroot-chocolate-fudge-cake-recipe

Would you recommend it?

That looks like a good site. I'll try some recipes from there.

Your lunch sounds delicious.

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 19/06/2011 15:39

Ok im back in!

I have been on and off for weeks now but im arond the same as when i left i think? 13st 12lb and i NEEEEEEEDDDDDDD to lose weight. Especialy as its only 3 months and 1 week till the big day, so idealy i need to be 1.5st lighter.

Shaxx - im supposed to be following ww then i jump to low carb then i binge!!!!! Arrrrggggghhhh!

Today has been a last splurge as i know i have to do this now and im hoping you will help me.

Dinky - i need a motivational arse kicking stick to your diet you fat bitch motivational talk please? >

Also hello to the new names i dont yet know.

Guitar - i hear you have impending nuptuals too? do tell all please!

Shaxx · 19/06/2011 16:35

Thinbride what are you eating on ww? Just wondering if you're having too much sugar or carbs as that causes bingeing. I know it does for me.

What kind of breakfasts are you having?
Are you exercising?

Some motivational tips I've heard that may or may not help you but worth a try;

Stick a pic of your wedding dress on the fridge and inside of the snacks cupboard to keep reminding you n ot to eat.

Reminding yourself of your goals every morning and picture yourself looking fab in your dress.

Get yourself a chunky-ish bracelet and call it your 'losing weight' bracelet or something and wear it on your arm all the time so you see it every time you reach out for food to remind yourself to stop. That helps if you eat mindlessly.

Log everything you eat.

I'm trying every day too. We'll get there Smile

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 19/06/2011 19:45

Shaxx - to be honest i have been following as far as lunch time then 1 tempting morsel under my nose and im all to pot! Its been a vicious circle.

I did go for a run on friday with my sil and im planning on one at 6am tomorrow before DP goes to work (wish me luck) im also hoping it will motivate me for the rest of the day to be good.

Im also going to start the shred and do it as many days as i can, think i need to jump into this with both feet!

Im going to take a read through and catch up on everyones progress and gossip to see what i have missed!

Knotty - i bet you loved the compliment! i ,love it when that happens as it gives you a lovely boost i think! It is nice when others have noticed as it helps motivate you more.

BelleEnd · 19/06/2011 21:07

Hello everyone! Especially thinbride! I think your weight loss goal is pretty realistic given the time you have. How tall are you, may I ask? Have you got your dress yet? I lost a bit of weight when I married (seven years ago: I was a size 14 on the big day).

Well, when I fall off the wagon I do it with style. I won't list what I've had this weekend, but you may understand if I tell you that I'm glad I don't live anywhere near a pizza hut, and that there's no all-you-can-eat breakfast here every morning, and that nowhere around here do they sell the bloody well gorgeous peanut butter chocolate muffins they sell in Leicester market. I had a blast, and my body is ready for a lot of salad this week. :)

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 20/06/2011 08:56

Morning all!

BelleEnd - im about 5ft 6in and would love to be a size 14! Im currently a comfortable 16 top and bottom.

I do have my dress which is a lace up back so can be sucked in pleanty but i will take i back about 6 weeks before hand to see if it needs adjusted any.

I have actually been for a run at 6.10am this morning for about 15-20 mins and done more running than walking (did walk up the very steep hill on way home as my legs were not co-operating!).

also peanut butter chocolate muffins sound fab!

Well im off to make breakfast which will be a 1 egg 1 egg white omlete with cherry toms and turkey ham.

need to go shopping for more fruit and veg as supplys are low!

justaminute · 20/06/2011 09:29

Welcome back Thinbride. I?ve not made any progress since you?ve been gone. I have a wedding to attend at the end of the month so I?m going to bounce off your renewed enthusiasm and go for it over the next 2 weeks. Let?s see if we can help each other through the up & downs. I?m going to do my best to lose 5lb to get to 11.5.

Knotty ? I?m afraid you are in need of another kick from me. I made the cherry bakewell cake. I can confirm it?s good? very good. However given my comments above I?m going to have be very restrained, just as well there?s not much left. Blush

dinkystinky · 20/06/2011 09:37

Thinbride - repeat this mantra:

  • FOCUS
  • MINDFUL EATING
  • HEALTHY LIVING
  • EXERCISE
  • WATER, WATER, WATER

Now, go in your kitchen. What is in there that would tempt you to biff and lose control? Put it all in a plastic bag and get your partner to put it in the most inaccessible part of the house possible (somewhere you dont know where it is - that way your DP and the kids can get to it but you cant).

Now, you need to plan this weightloss like a military operation - you have your aim in sight, your wedding. You have your dress - keep trying it on to see how you look in it. You need to meal plan (and plan in one small treat a day to look forward to - but no more my friend). You have to incorporate exercise (over and above your usual daily routine) into every day - running and shred are great, just make sure you go running at least 3 times a week and shred every day. And stick to your WW points.

You will do it - and look amazing on the day. And we're all behind you on this thread.

knottyhair · 20/06/2011 10:10

Morning! Shaxx, good luck with your 1000 cals regime, it worked well for you last time didn't it? Dinky, I've done a chocolate beetroot cake a few times (we get a lot of beetroot in our box AND we grow it), it's lush. And your lunch yesterday sounds gorgeous. Thinbride, welcome back! Well done on running at 6am Shock, and good luck with your goal. Listen to Dinky and you can't go far wrong. BelleEnd, sounds like you had a great weekend away. It's good to enjoy times like that now and again without feeling guilty, as long as you get back in the zone you'll be fine. JAM, OW!!! . It is dangerously good isn't it Grin? DP and DS finished it off last night thank gord.

Had a lovely walk yesterday, and was quite gratified that during one steep climb DP complained his quads were hurting, and mine were OK!! Jillian's squat-tastic routines must be paying off Grin. Did L3 Shred this morning, wholemeal toast & marmite for breakfast, bean soup for lunch and not sure about tea yet, but probably roast chicken thigh, new potatoes & salad. Have a good one x

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 20/06/2011 10:30

Dinky - thank you for that pep talk, i has me focused firmly in the game. I have all the treats in a cupboard in the kitchen and tbh i never eat anything bad when im in the Zone! i can easily ignore them all.

Im plannig on running everyother day, so wed morning is my next outing, will try to shred today as working tomorrow then giving notice at reg office then getting my hair done so a busy day and no time to shred (im in work at 7am so no time before hand)

I think as you say i need to plan more as i feel this is one of the instances where im more likely to de-rail! Like today im at work from 3pm so need to plan something to bring with me thats healthy and filling so i dont snack when i get there, im thinging of doing roast veg pasta with tomato sauce then i can take the left overs with me to work tomorrow for lunch.

If anyone has some easy protable lunch/dinner ideas i can take to work with me i would be ever so gratefull!

Knotty - well done on being level 3 of the shred! That my dear is hardcore.

Just about to pop to morrisons to get some supplies.

Justaminute - im aiming to reach my 5% at WW so its 13st 4lb and im 14st this morning (eeeekkkkkk) so i have 10lb to shift.

My 10% goal weight is 12st 8lb so this is my wedding minimum weight loss goal.

knottyhair · 20/06/2011 10:50

Thinbride, can you heat things up at work? If so, any soups are really good, BBC Good Food site (DON'T START YOU LOT) have lots of nice soup recipes, and if you don't have time to make any, the fresh soups in the supermarkets are usually nice & healthy. Do you like couscous? I often give DP/DS halloumi or feta with couscous in their packed lunch. You can use half fat feta/halloumi, or just less of the "proper" stuff. You can mix in any salad veg with the couscous, a tiny bit of oil and some nice vinegar. In a bit of a rush, but I'll have another think later...

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 20/06/2011 12:32

Sounds like you have got your head in the game Thinbride. I think, given your wedding is now firmly on the horizon, you do need to plan as much as possible (and part of that planning is planning your treat into your allowance and putting that treat out on the side if you want it). Also spur yourself on with treats on the horizon - eg get to half a stone loss, go out and get your nails done, stone loss - a massage, goal - a fab hairdo for the wedding - or whatever takes your fancy really.

BelleEnd · 20/06/2011 19:39

dinky You are the queen of pep talks. Have you ever thought of becoming a motivational speaker? :o I completely agree with you about planning the treats... If I do that I tend not to go overboard.

ROFL at knotty and the BBC Good Food site :o

Shaxx I agree with you about the carb/sugar making you hungry. I am trying to be as low-carb as possible during the day, and it really makes a difference- The four o' clock pangs just don't appear if I haven't had sugar/carbs for breakfast or lunch. The 1000 calorie thing sounds good... I have no idea how to calorie count, do you weigh everything?

justaminute It's great to have a forseeable event (like the wedding you have) to focus you! My sister is coming over in August, and I'm singing backing vocals for her at a few gigs Blush and I really want to be as thin as her when I do it. I'm nearly there now, I reckon. Last time I did it in March, and I really felt like the fat one...

Thinbride You seem like you've got the exact right attitude. Food listing on this thread is my real lifesaver... I've stuck to it, and examined my own relationship with food, thanks to these ladies. I call them my free therapy! :)

Have been very good today. I know I'm going to have put a load of weight on after this weekend, so I really want to soften the blow by Friday's weigh-in! I am trying to do carb-free before tea, and having a small amount of carbs then to keep he ulcer from flaring up. Amazingly, I am far less hungry like this... Carbs stir up my appetite. Also drinking loads of water, and sweated a lot in the garden.

Salad with quorn meatballs
small potato with tuna salad

Shaxx · 20/06/2011 21:01

Dinky wise words as ever Smile

Knotty more reason for Jillian praise. Well done on superb quads Grin

Thinbride leftovers are always a good idea. Theres no extra effort involved. Also pasta, couscous and rice salads are always a good options. Pitta breads with chicken or hummous and salad? Well done on the run.

Belle wow you must be a good singer to do backing vocals. Where are you gigging and how big will the crowds be? I am seriously impressed Smile

1000 cals is going ok though I am very pmt and am being a misery about it all. I use myfitnesspal to log everything and yes, if need be, I do weigh stuff like pasta, rice and potatoes. Most things myfitnesspal will know anyway.

Today I had
yoghurt and fruit
sushi, yoghurt
banana
lentil soup and half a bagel

currently craving stodge but will make do with a cup of green tea and Desparate HousewivesSad

BelleEnd · 20/06/2011 21:23

Oooooh no don't be impressed re. the singing, it's only very small things!

I may start weighing stuff too, and counting calories. What if you have salad, would you weigh that or is that taking obsessiveness to a whole new level?

I have just signed on to myfitnesspal... It's great, thanks to all who recommended it! :)

dinkystinky · 20/06/2011 21:30

Blush re pep talks - I've received quite a few in my time on the thread so figure its time to give some back Grin

V impressed with the singing Belle - but no, DONT move to weighing stuff and counting calories. That way focussing too much on food and weight rather than healthy happy lifestyle lies. And if you're having a healthy salad (no cheese, nuts etc and v little dressing) I dont think weighing and measuring will make much of a difference. Myfitnesspal sounds good though.

BelleEnd · 20/06/2011 21:32

You're right, dinky, and I appreciate you looking out for me. Thank you. :)

Shaxx · 20/06/2011 21:45

Belle I never count veg and salad.
I have a myfitnesspal app on my phone so I just put stuff into it as I have it. I really recommend it if you have a flash phone.
Its only the carbs with dinner (potatoes, rice, pasta etc) that I weigh and thats mainly so I know what a decent portion should be and not have my plate piled high like I usually do. I only do that a couple of times til I get the idea.

LadyBuzz · 21/06/2011 08:31

shaxx I am probably doing similar, I weight the bulk of things to check i'm not going way over but since i started I have found myself much more likely to plate up a sensible portion, It shocks me to think that when I made bolognase DH and I could easily polish off a full bag of fresh pasta and now we can make it feed 4 adults and the 2 DS'. Shock
