Right, signed up this morning and am 14stone 3lbs. Yikes! Am really pleased that a 5% target has been introduced. It's a more achieveable 'get started' milestone than the 10% was.

Have been shopping and bought lots of good stuff to eat. Avoided the biscuit, cake and crisp aisle. Need to read up on my guides to work out what fits best with what/how I like to eat.

Am going to take my measurements once DDs are in bed and before DH gets home. Not looking forward to that - especially the hips. Am taking comfort in the fact that the measurements will only be going one way from now on.

SueSylvesterforPM · 13/04/2011 16:04

LittleFriendSusan - the Warburtons sandwich thins are 3 pp (top and bottom)

Littlefish · 13/04/2011 18:10

Thanks Blondes - I'd put 15 on my tracker so I'm glad I was sort of right. Smile

wizzler · 13/04/2011 18:42

Well done "Shoulders",, thats fantastic .. congrats too to "Littlefriend" that must be a brilliant feeling

vnmum · 13/04/2011 19:35

hello all,
well done wizzler, little fish, shoulders and benbon on the losses (think i got everyone)

iona I know what you mean about the pelvic floor issues, that will teach me for being lazy with my post natal exercises, lol

heyho I am only just starting to stop aching today from the kettlenetics. By the way it is available in tesco's for £30. You get the kbell and 3 workouts. It's all flowing movements with the bell and from the pain i was in after doing it once i would imagine it would get results. It also got me very out of breath with all the swinging.(oo err Smile)

I seem to have lost motivation too. it just seems that since i moved i've slipped back into the old habits that got me fat in the first place. I even started the Dukan diet today, for something different and i thought it might break my carb addiction. well, all was going well until this afternoon when i thought about it long term and thought i probably couldn't manage living on meat and veg for the next few months, especially as you only lose as much per week as on WW anyway and that it's probably not very balanced either. SO i had some carbs. To be honest it did make me realise that WW is balanced, I know it works as i got to goal, so i just need to get my head space sorted and get back on the wagon.

The useful thing i did get from the dukan website is a true weight calculator. It asks a few questions then gives you a weight that Dr Dukan reckons is the weight your body can maintain long term. Mine was pretty much what my ultimate goal is but it just clarified to me that i was aiming in the right area. Could be worth a try for everyone?

When i get fully back on track (new week starts tomorrow) i think i will try and cut my carbs back and increase my protein as today i didn't feel that hungry on just protein and i may still use the oatbran Dukan recommends to keep me regular and see what happens, but all in all It's WW all the way, i'm a WW gal.

sorry for the mammoth post

Littlefish · 13/04/2011 19:57

Vnmum- Your thinking about the carbs is very interesting vnmum. I've really noticed that I'm eating fewer carbs since I started with propoints. It suits me really well and I don't feel as hungry as I used to. Also, my blood sugar seems to be more stable and I'm therefore less moody.

I think you're very sensible to consider what will work for you long term. For many of us, losing the weight is just the start of a life-long recognition of our weight issues. There is no point to go hell for leather losing the weight, if that weight is not sustainable long term. Your thinking alone sounds really positive to me. You are imagining what your long term healthy weight is going to be. Start again tomorrow with that in mind and I'm sure you'll re-discover your motivation.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/04/2011 20:24

vnmum\ you can buy kb from tescos? im tempted to try that

also do you have link to the calcultor - to get my bmi to 20/21 i need to be 9st 7- there is no way in this world i would ever get there Hmm and would look like a twig

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 13/04/2011 20:24

Thanks everyone, I am really pleased. Think I might try and find my jeans that I'm aiming to get into as my next target, haven't fitted since 2004 but lovely expensive ones that I bought in New York and then ate my way out of rather quickly! I'd like to lose about another 10 lbs I think, but am going to see how I feel at each WI and decide when I feel I'm the right weight, IYSWIM?

littlefish wise words!

littlefriendsusan what are these warbutons sandwich thins that you speak of?

congrats on the losses to benbon, wizzler and littlefish, and extra congrats on the size 12s!

I appear to be the only person awake in my family, as DH has fallen asleep after reading DD1's bedtime story at 1930. no arguments over the remote control tonight! (masterchef, for food porn!)

Good luck for any WIs tomorrow. I have one point left, so think I'm going to have a hot choc. nom nom nom.

LolaLadybird · 13/04/2011 20:40

vmum - true weight calculator sounds interesting, think I'll investigate. Link would be v useful.

Shoulders - fantastic weight loss

NoWay - try whizzing the fruit into a smoothie with yog or milk, will make it easier to get past your throat. You could also add some oats in it to for a bit of protein

Some deviation here today. Was all going very well until got to parents' to collect DC's after work and was offered jam doughnut with cup of tea. Also a box of chocs at work of which 2 leapt into my mouth and now there are hot-cross buns that DH bought calling from the cupboard. Am OK for now but think they may get the better of me in the morning! On the positive side, have just eaten mushroom/barley/spinach risotto which was in the little weekly WW handout thing - 7 pp and v yum.

The problem is we are away next week (visiting in-laws for 5 days) and so no WI. Hard to stay focussed with no immediate scales threat but know I'll sooo regret it if fall off the wagon, especially as there will be extra temptation being away from home and then Easter weekend.

LolaLadybird · 13/04/2011 20:56

Just had a go at the true weight thing - link here

My true weight came out 11st 10lbs - slightly higher than the BMI target weight and more realistic I think. I am definitely big-boned!

HeyH0 · 13/04/2011 21:07

Blondes Tesco direct have a 5kg kettlebell for £10 at the moment, I'm sure you'd manage to wield it without any problem. (When I started classes I used 4kg, within 3 months I was swinging a 16kg one around. Shock Then a pissed numpty hit my car, which broke my leg & I got lardy. :( ) There are plenty of instructional clips on YouTube, but Pavel Tsatsouline DVD's/books are helpful if you want a reference for correct form; although, be warned, they are slightly comedic in places. Wink

In other news, I seem to have enough daily points left for a bottle of wine... :o Dilemma.

HeyH0 · 13/04/2011 21:11

Vnmum Thanks for the heads up re the Kettlenetics DVD, I'll investigate... It gets some sniffy reviews online, but it looks fun. :)

wizzler · 13/04/2011 21:18

Lola, try focussing on a treat for yourself every day, ( within your propoints) and promise yourself that you can have it, as long as you forsake all others during the day. eg.I am quite fussy over what chocolate I prefer, but if let of the leash I will hoover up anything, and tbh I am not that fussed about booze. So I allow myself 5 pps for something really nice, like a crunchie or a malteser bunny Wink and then everythiing stays under control.

Heyho.. what is the dilemma ? Are you wondering whether to pour it in a glass or down it straight from the bottle? Grin
