Let's start afresh!

Hi Bohica!

I'm pretty sure green tea is fine, as long as you are not adding sugar.

Cauli rice - you blitz raw cauli in a food processor/magimix until it goes into crumbs, then you can saute in butter in a saucepan til soft, or some people microwave it.

LC Moussaka - well, I just used a regular recipe for the lamb bit and aubergines, but instead of the bechamel sauce on top I use double cream mixed with crumbled feta and an egg. (I think FBB came up with that one).

Actually, just remembered I cooked it for 11 people at the weekend and forgot the egg. Blush Thought it looked a bit....runny.

Bohica · 05/04/2011 17:49

Thanks cointreauVersial It all sounds very nice & I will try the moussaka tomorrow.

I ate one pringle this afternoon & then shouted "agghhh I'm not meant to eat them" DC did a Hmm & carried on scoffing them Grin

The thought of a curry at the weekend is keeing me on the straight and narrow, but I have struggled massively with cravings today. It's the first time in ages I've gone without coffee, I wonder if coffee does help keep my cravings away...

Today I had:
a ham salad
a banana
aubegine and tomato bake with quorn mince, which I ate too much of but I don't feel too bad because it was very healthy.
Peppermint tea
Gallons of water

Did a little exercise, not enough. Feel fat and hopeless today. Cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. :(

Mmmm spelt toast sounds good. And curry Grin I think I started last Wednesday and can certainly tell I have lost weight round my stomach and back fat Smile Don't have scales, but really should get the wii fit out to check.

Just had prawn stirfry and have avoided carbs all week (except for dark choc truffles I got for MD). Quite chuffed at how easy it's been so far... Def going to try Custy's pie and CV's moussaka. Yum, they sound great.

Can't give up Scottish Blend tea with milk. Tried alternatives and they all taste like shit less good than my usual builders brew. And keep forgetting water.

Mssoul · 05/04/2011 19:32

Sal, parents' night is stressful even if your kids are doing well - not that my teen dd is doing all that well. Some subjects are ok, but she's either loved or hated by teachers. Bit of a premadonna. All that smiling and nodding at p night is exhausting. Had mine a couple of weeks ago and I can't believe how young the teachers are. Felt well old Sad

Bohica · 05/04/2011 20:52

Yum yum, omelette with red pepper & onion in it, a side of crispy bacon & a dollop of mayo.

I knew my parents evening was going to be awfull when the time sheet on the door said "little Bohica's mum 3.00" "next mum's time 3.40"

Bloody child Smile

Sarraburd · 05/04/2011 20:59

Run cf run! Or at least keep going, keep going...

Is v diff though as real life keeps intervening...am suffering similar fate to you Exit as keep falling for the wine and haven't quite got to sal's running habit...my poor little cat hurt her leg badly and needed a zillion stitches today and was too upset about awful wound not to succumb to wine tonight. If only I could live in a bubble with no social life or emotional stresses for a couple of months weightless would be so much easier. Sigh.

Bohica - cauli rice is basically food-processed/shredded cauli either microwaved as is (has so much water anyway that's fine) or softened in butter. green tea fine (or at least, best caffeine option if you're having it)

Cv - freezing cauli rice a brilliant idea (dh likewise [skeptical])

Sarraburd · 05/04/2011 21:12

Forgot to refresh and missed half the messages hence disconnect...sorry...

Sal don't get disheartened, you're doing so well (think of the longterm) - you're my inspiration!

Orm - get thee behind me but glad running going so much better!

Bohica · 05/04/2011 21:16

Thank you sarra Know what you mean about the wine, red is my downfall.

I have loads of party food left over from saturday & was just sitting here on my own mentally running through the fridge & cupboard reminding myself of the things I can't eat & then remembered the popcorn!!!

Angry fricking hell, 34.8g per 1/4 bag - it's not even toffee popcorn Sad

Don't suppose I could eat DD's jelly belly's? she would never forgive me even if I could have them Grin

Sarraburd · 05/04/2011 21:52

Step away boh, step away!

You can also do the moussaka topping with Greek yog, egg and feta. V nice.

Mssoul · 05/04/2011 22:13

OMG I just did day one of 30 day shred! It's pretty tough - I found the arm bits easier than the leg bits and no way can I do a press up. My dd - dancer - did it too and barely sweated and she was doing proper press ups no bother! She's like the most bootcampish of fitness trainers.

I am going to suffer tomorrow... Did those who have done it like febes and CF manage to do it again on day two or did you take a break? I know the point is to do it each day Grin I see CF you just started on the 31st - you still going? How are you getting on? I just looked on the shred thread, but they all seem to be on level 2 or 3.

Mssoul · 05/04/2011 22:14

Sorry about the bold.

I just restarted day 1 level 1 of 30DS so I'll go through with you guys!!. It took me about 7 weeks to finish the first time so I didn't do it everyday but I'm going try to do it more regularly this time. I followed Natalie more today and used my 2kg weights and it was so hard!!!!! Its a great work out though.

Sarraburd · 06/04/2011 07:31

Custy sheen's return reminds me that her blog is vg for lowcarb info for anyone just starting carbfree.wordpress.com/

Cf - bananas are no good either. Apart from the fruit it's all good so cut that out and instead lots of green veg and that might stop your stall.

Alouiseg · 06/04/2011 07:55

De-lurking for this :o

I ate 1 slice of bread yesterday afternoon (toast, when the boys came in from school)

Within half an hour I felt awful, had a gripey tummy, had to go to the loo, was dreadful! Them I spent the evening eating the kids left over mash.

Bread is evil, remind me of that next time I feel like lapsing please.

I'm going to have to post to keep me on the straight and narrow today!

Mssoul · 06/04/2011 08:35

Febes and Sarra - 30 day shred it is then...

Limping to work now Grin Nah, don't feel too bad yet.

Tuna mayo for lunch with some little gem scoops. Looking forward to it. BTW, got a tasty wee pack of salami in Tesco yesterday lunch for £1.

Mssoul · 06/04/2011 08:37

Alouiseg, I almost ate my little one's leftover toast an jam today. In fact, took a bite and spat it out Grin Good luck today.

ConstanceFelicity · 06/04/2011 09:02

I am doing the shred most days, Mssoul, and it has stopped hurting quite as much! On bright days I prefer walking though, uphill and fast... Better for the soul in my opinion. :)

I know lots of fruit is evil, Sarraburd, but I did tell myself at the beginning of this that if I was cutting out bread, potatoes, rice, pasta et al I would allow myself a piece of fruit... I will never stick to it with no sweetness whatsoever! Although I am low carbing, I am not doing Atkins- I'm low carbing and low fatting! So, though I'm eating meat, I'm not eating cheese, yog, butter and all the things that make your meals sound lovely! I think that this suits me better, though it might take longer to lose

Finallygotaroundtoit · 06/04/2011 09:06

Wotcha!

I'm using soya milk (tesco value UHT cartons) as can't give up my brews with milk. it's 0.2 carbs per 100ml compared to 5g for semi skimmed.
Tastes OK.

I pick it up when I get my Oatbran. I have a question about that - the pack says 20g carbs per 40g !!!!! Is ihat right that almost all your carbs goes on Oatbran?

I do need it for bowels & piles (blush)

Finallygotaroundtoit · 06/04/2011 09:07

PS Alpro Soya yogs also good - I have the plain one on berries
