aawww that's lovely Bebe.

I've been busy today, cooked a roast dinner for mum and the hoards and went to Sainsburys, one of these days I will do nothing on mothers day!! Got some Celebrations....enough said Blush

glad you had lovely lunch blondes.

smokinaces · 03/04/2011 20:07

I have pigged out again! but all for the sake of Mothers Day honest Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2011 21:26

smokin we shall waddle together!!

heard anything from this man?

prettybird · 03/04/2011 22:55

Well, I've just waddled in from a lovely meal at my Dad's: we have Sunday dinner there once a fortnight (my brother goes every week but we ration contact with him) so he did me a specail meal for my birthday on Wednesday.

After a glass of good champagne to start (after which I told dh that he was going to have to drive Wink - much to his digruntlement as he had seen the wine that my dad had got out....), we then had a bottle of Grange 1982 to go with the Beef Bourgignon. For those amongst you who know wine, you will realise that an 82 Grange is one serious bottle of wine Grin .... it was very nice, altohugh the fruti was starting to go (so unusually, it might have been better drunk on its own, without the meat).

This was after having been treated this morning with a glass of OJ brought to me in bed, the option of having breakfast in bed (I opted to get up) and then poached eggs (laid by the nighbours chickens yesterday) on muffin, with a glass of dh's Pierre Jourdan bubbly to wash it down. Very nice :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2011 00:31

pretty sounds a lovely day was had by all and course mr pretty should have driven - it was mothers day!!!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2011 07:28

GettinTrimmer · 04/04/2011 09:36

I've no idea about wine Pretty, but I'll take your word for it you had some good stuff! Glad you had a good day.

Bad news here, but hey ho. Our buyers have withdrawn. The surveyor due to come round today said he's had an e-mail to say not to go ahead with survey, no idea why they've decided to withdraw.

Smalline · 04/04/2011 10:04

Sorry to hear about your buyers GT

Think I'm going to order that exercise dvd Blondes

looks like it has been a better week for everyone weight wise, well done everyone.

I've changed my weigh-in day to Monday now, hopefully that will stop me from pigging out over the weekendBlush 1.5lbs off this weekGrin.

That's awful news about your buyer Trimmer . You must be gutted.

I forgot to post the results of my weigh-in on Friday: lost a pound :), but don't think I am going to be able to break the 12stone barrier by Wednesday (my birthday) :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2011 13:43

smalline well done on loss

pretty well done on loss

trimmer oh no :( but dont give up on 'your' house to be yet

GettinTrimmer · 04/04/2011 13:50

thanks for commiserations slinks. worst things happen Smile

Smalline & pretty well done on losses.

Apparently, and this is bizarre - the reason why they pulled out - the surveyor put them off even before he looked at the house because he told them there have been cases in this area of gardens sliding onto the railway line, then the homeowner is liable. Not true of our road at all, about a mile and a half away from here it happened years ago apparently Hmm

So the surveyor has lost his fee too, I think our buyers were way over cautious.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2011 14:08

i would think about suing the surveyor for getting info wrong and missing you out a sale!!

bebejones · 04/04/2011 14:24

Shock Trimmer that is awful!!! I would definitely be putting a complaint in against that surveyor! I worked for a little while for a surveyor & I think he is way out of line to make that sort of statement without viewing the property or even doing a 'drive by' survey of the area. Especially if this sort of thing hasn't happened for years and not in your area. Appauled! :(

I have been reasonably good today...so far!

B - grapefruit juice & yoghurt
L - Chicken & cous-cous, some fresh pineapple chunks (prob bout 100g as was roughly half the pack) & a jaffa cake :o

Veg soup & soda bread for dinner. But have made some brownies...for DHs office. I shall try & resist...............Hmm

Well done on losses Pretty & Small! :)

prettybird · 04/04/2011 14:37

Reminds me of the time I had a "buyer" pull out of my house in Bolton 'cos it would take too long to check the mining records, 'cos the lawyer had indentified that there were some mines two miles away and they might extend to where my house was. Hmm

The attitude is very different up ere: in Glasgow, the whole city is riddled with old abandoned shallow mines - but partly because they were so shallow, any problems will have shown up by now. A surveyor up here would be more disturbed if he couldn't see signs of subsisdence Shock

As an aside, one of the feudal "superiors" (requirements) in the tital deeds of our house is that we are not allowed to have a mine in our back garden - or a glue factory, or a tannery, or a blacksmiths amongst others......... Grin

GettinTrimmer · 04/04/2011 14:52

Grin now don't go getting yourself a hunky blacksmith in your back garden Pretty. Now there's a thought....

I think these people wouldn't have bought the house anyway, very particular and quizzed us when did we have the chimney swept, wanted a count of electrical sockets in every room, went on about any possible train noise (there's very little). I am wondering if they were having second thoughts and siezed on this as an excuse Hmm surely you would look into it a bit deeper if you really wanted a house, ask for particular information Hmm Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2011 15:19

b rice crispies and skim 5pp
l prawn/noodle salad 6pp
melon and grapes
t not sure yet but will be 12pp

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/04/2011 15:57

< Slopes in whilst having lunch Hmm at 3.45 pm, I'm having 3 muller light yogs, 2 cherry, 1 strawberry >

Bummer GT about your buyers, probably some passing comment by the surveyor that they hooked onto because they had doubts anyway. All those questions Hmm But don't give up on the new house, we lost a buyer but still held onto this house we are in now. Arse though.

My Japanese refugees are winging their way back to Tokyo, very sad departure, but on the upside, everyone will be back in their own beds tonight!! They start BIG school on Wednesday.

We had a lovely Mothers' Day yesterday, DH did very well, both SIL and I had a lie in until 10, and were woken with a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea by our respective DC, then gifts ( we had got DN some chocolate to give to their mum ) I got a beautiful bunch of flowers from DS and a bracelet from DD, then later on DH made a roast lunch helped by all four DC, then we had a lovely walk. All just lovely. Although by the end of the day DH looked like this Confused

Running later, but at present I can't really be arsed.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2011 17:29

piste sounds alike a lovely md was had :) why 3 yogs?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/04/2011 18:05

'twas a bit of a rush Mrs B.

My refugees left 7.30 am with DH. Sad
Then I had to sort out my DC who were devastated the cousins had left. Then they had to go to school, but they were running later than normal after all the tears. Sad
Then I had to get my own act together. Confused
Then when I was scratching around for something to take for lunch it was all I could find.

I thought of taking two then thought what the hell and took three!! Blush

Well done smallline and pretty on losses

Piste, glad the guests are on the way home safely, hope your DC are ok Sad

I;ve eaten fairly well, and was all scheduled to do exercise - but have a banging headache so am going to bed early.

dinner was veg and chicken in pesto and tomato. V. yummy. and enough for lunch tomorrow

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2011 18:34

Glad off safely

Had a hard boiled egg today - havnt had one for ages - a nice 2pp snack and did keep me full up better than crisps

smokinaces · 04/04/2011 18:37

oh, and date has been provisionally booked for saturday night. Lets see what happens between now and then.......

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/04/2011 18:46

Hope you feel better soon Smokin. You will have to watch WtheD tomorrow.

Thank you, DC are fine, just down really. They will feel happier once they have arrived in Tokyo and aren't somewhere up in the skies above Siberia. It's so Bloomin far away. It is always so joyful spending time with them and it's always so intense because we all know how sad it is when it ends Sad and how infrequent it is. [verysad]

But it's like they are still here cos I keep finding odd socks, plastic tat etc!!

Aah well. At least we get to go to Japan from time to time.

OP posts:
smokinaces · 04/04/2011 18:53

Pants, forgot about WtD. Might see if I can find the old aerial and get the TV in the bedroom working. Want to watch - and to be fair I cant sleep before 9pm or feel worse tomorrow anyway. Mmmm, will see. Have the munchies now too - think it might be the start of a migraine.

Is it safer in Japan for them now? Must be so bittersweet for all of you - great to see each other but heartrenching when they have to go again.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/04/2011 19:25

Find the aerial.
Jim jams on.
Into bed.
Watch WtheD.
If snooze off, so be it, watch on iplayer tomorrow.

How does that sound?
Yes thanks. Tokyo a lot healthier than when they left. DB has been helping with the relief effort in fukashima. Things are improving albeit at a snails pace.
