GettinTrimmer · 02/04/2011 10:15

Grin lol piste!

oh sod it blondes, that always happens to me. Let us know what the bl workout is like. Do you till do Claire Richards? I wonder what's happened to her now.

wi today, I'm saturdays now. sts yet again in spite of too much lunch. There's running about in the dinner lady job, I played duck duck goose and there's bending and stacking chairs so at least that dealt with some of it.

GettinTrimmer · 02/04/2011 10:22

Also things moving with the house purchase but our buyers are having a full structural survey (eek!) we inherited the extention done in 1994 and it hasn't got buildings regulations consent so we got an indemity insurance. They are also having an electrical test, but we had the property rewired in 2001. Feeling a bit nervous, we were not as thorough when we bought.

bebejones · 02/04/2011 11:24

Have bought my dress! Went for a 16 in the end in the hope that it is too big! Hmm (Stupid boobs mean my chest is right at the top measurment for a 14) I figured I'd rather have to return one and get a smaller size than return it to get a bigger size IYKWIM?

Trimmer - That sounds v exciting & very scary at the same time! I don't think we were that thourough when we bought this house either, but maybe it's the sign of the times & everyone being over cautious?

Blondes - Hope the DVD is good, DH has vowed to do some house sorting so maybe my Davina one will turn up?! Hmm

Off to take DH & DD to Tesco for my mother's day present! Hmm Angry DD is under strict instructions not to get cake or chocolates...but you can never really trust a 2.7 year old to follow instructions can you?!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2011 11:25

trimmer didnt reliese you had changed wi till sat :)

well done for sts :)

sure house will be fine,we also had to rewire our house when brought it 12years ago - had single pin plugs Shock and bank held back £2k of our mortgage till we had it done (1st week in house - i was too scared not to, didnt want house to burn down) hadnt been re wired since 1960 and we brought in 1999

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2011 11:28

i dont do claire any more Blush and she gained the weight as well after birth of 2nd child last year and back to 18 :(

so natalie c, corrie lady/claire richards all did dvd's and all put weight back on -doesnt say much for it really does it :(

but will let you know what i think of tbl one

really aching from gym today, but a girl i havnt seen for a few months said 'wow, youve lost weight'

which really pleased me - said ive lost if off face/boobs and tummy :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/04/2011 12:25

I wouldn't buy without a full structural survey tbh. Too much of a gamble. Friends found out they had to rePlace the entire roof and roof syructure of a large detached house. Think hundred thousand Plus. All could have been avoided. Gulp.

Hope dress is ok.
GT - you should wear a pedometer to see how far you go. At DC little school a LS did that and everyone had to guess at the summer Fair ( she did over a period of a week ) Think like how many marbles in the jar. She went miles!

Blondes, Clare is on the front of Closer magazine or somehting back down to a 10 or 12 this week? She just seems to ballooooooooooooon when pregnant

Dress sounds good Bebe, fingers crossed

I had a good evening, but ate pizza and icecream and biscuits and smoked 4 fags Shock Then slept until the ex rung woking me up at 1pm! (couldnt find venue for party DS1 was going to)

I need to start back on the exercise this week. You are all tasked with kicking my arse daily to make sure I've done some.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2011 13:55

smokin is she?

'runs out to buy'

trimmer agree when spending that amount a full survey is prob worthwhile

smokinaces · 02/04/2011 14:04

googled her website - it is indeed Closer

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/04/2011 14:14

Who is Claire? Blush

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2011 14:17

i have her work out dvd

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/04/2011 15:48

Claire from Steps

I think I remember her from her pic on the left more.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2011 15:56

yep piste

GettinTrimmer · 02/04/2011 17:15

I remember an interview with Claire after she put on the weight again, she said eating stopped her from feeling sick during pregnancy.

Will be interesting to see what our buyer's full survey will throw up on the 1994 extention we inherited - very weird bloke we bought our house from 10 years ago who got nasty when some potential buyers wanted a full survey (he did the work himself) but we had a middle of the road homebuyers report. Fingers crossed. Wouldn't surprise me if we have to reduce the price.

Our buyers are a bit of a pain but want to keep them happy, we've had to go round counting the sockets in each room for them, they asked if there is any noise from the trains, have we had the chimney swept, etc, etc.

Sorry for going on, but it's on my mind a bit!

piste, your poor friends, how old was the house? I saw a programme on channel 4 recently a couple bought a house through auction without a survey and the house should have been condemned but some experts sorted it out.

I'll bear that in mind about the pedometer - maybe an idea for the summer fete, I've volunteered to organise the raffle (mad me!) but I know what it's like trying to fundraise.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/04/2011 18:12

That house was Edwardian. The whole roof structure was twisting and would have caved in when it got to a certain level of stress. You wouldn't have known though without a thorough investigation.

You could do a Guess How Far Mrs GT walks in a week as our lunchtime supervisor competition?
( You wear the pedometer the week before )

Then, Year 6 children ( or someone ) with a clipboard writing down ideas. Closest wins something! Easy!! Or pips as they said at DC junior.

Raffles are dull really though, unless you can persuade your Head to donate a prize of themselves going round to the winner's house and making them dinner?! Those sorts of things are interesting prizes!

Hope things go OK Trimmer . I couldn't cope with the English system of putting in an offer on a house before you've done a survey. How do you know what it's worth? .... and then you have angst (on both sides) of a post-agreement-to-sell negotiation Hmm. I remember hating it when I bought and sold in England (did it twice - but the first time I was shielded from the worst of it 'cos it was a company move)

In Scotland, once you've offered, it's binding - so you do your survery before you offer. Yes, it means that sometimes you have to do multiple surverys before you actually get "your" house (although nowadays people have to do "homebuyers reports which include a basic survey - but I would still choose to do a full survey) - but you then have to think carefully about how much a house is worth to you .

I think we did surveys on two other houses before we got the one we're in now: one we put an offer in knowing it wouldn't be accepted (even though it slightly higher than what it valued at; it went for silly money becasue of the catchment it was in) and the other we didn't bother offering on at all. For our current house, although it went to closing (ie sealed bids - the Scottish system if there are a few people interested) there was only one other person interested - and apparently our bids were very close ("by the amount in a wallet") - but we've been very happy here. :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2011 18:54

We liked another house and did a survey and came back needing £12k worth of stuff (which in 1999 was a lot of money ) and we tried to get offer down and sellers said they would pay half then refused

Lost about 1k on that house with surveys/solicester/land searchs etc

But then a week later found our current house and loved it

GettinTrimmer · 02/04/2011 20:53

Pretty that sounds like how the French do their buying/selling also. At least here it's not like it was with gazumping, you'd get underway and do a survey and someone comes along and offers more money...

Blondes glad you found another house. Property's so expensive around here, if we were buying in the West Midlands where my FIL lived it's possible to get something amazing for a lot less money.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2011 09:39

your area is cheaper than ours trimmer

what you have offered on would least be £500k if not £600k where i am

the downshot of living fairly near to london

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2011 09:40

'polishs halo'

i was very good last night, decided to drive as had headache so wanted an easy escape if need be, so had diet coke all night opp and a chicken wrap 10pp and i was actually UNDER pp for the FIRST time EVER on a SATURDAY night!!!!!!

bebejones · 03/04/2011 10:47

My clever DD listened to instructions & got me tulips (which I love) and a cookery book (I love a cook book I do)! Hoorah! :o

Happy Mother's Day to all mummies!

We didn't make it to church today as DD didn't wake up til 8.50! Shock Bit gutted, but am trying not to feel guilty about not going even though I know I'll probably cop it later from my mum!

Well done Blondes on being so good! :)

On the house prices topic, we are really lucky that where we live the prices weren't as high as the local average (despite being a great area with brilliant schools), subsequently lots more people have been moving in to the area as it is alot cheaper & it's slowly pushing the prices back up again! (Which is good news for us as we got a bargain on our house!) Glad we got in before the prices started to creep up! :)

Hope everyone has a lovely day, supposed to be getting some rain here today, so scuppers our gardening plans...again! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2011 17:17

'waddles in'

eaten lamb shank, buttery mash and veg and gravey
