Well our happy news is that DD got her rowing selection today. She's in the top crew (a quad ) positions still to be decided, she wants stroke or 3 so that's our next fingers crossed. She's gone to bed a happy bunny. I realise now how worried she was about it.

And. Have been low carbing for a whole Bloomin week.

They say the first week is the hardest. Well I hope so. I get this weird burning feeling in my arms and legs, which is odd and uncomfortable but not painful. I've got it now. I don't like it! It makes feel shaky I have had headaches too. And as you know I've been having dreams about eating Hmm most notably the doughnut/dog nut dream. I don't really even like doughnuts so that was weird too!!

I will carry on if I have lost on Friday, otherwise it's not worth it!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2011 23:39

yah fab piste - well done dd :)

prettybird · 11/05/2011 15:37

Congratulations to Piste's dd :)

Well, I did the Shred again this morning and another 2.4 mile run. SO far so good with my Achilles tendon. I can feel my hip (other leg) but that too seems to be holding up. I'm being very good about stretches afterwards though.

Hopefully, I will seem some results on Friday! :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/05/2011 21:01

Oh Lordy,my arms are burning again!

If this feeling is part of ketosis, I wish my arse was burning, because I don't need to lose as my weight off my arms as my arse really Hmm

OP posts:
prettybird · 11/05/2011 23:46

I don't remember ever getting a burning in the way you descrbie. Confused

Long time since I did full low carb though.

prettybird · 12/05/2011 11:17

Where are you all?!

Thinking of Blondes today. I am sure she will get a lot of support from her RL friends, but we are here for her too.

bebejones · 12/05/2011 12:20

I'm hovering, but nothing special to report!

Piste - Well done DD!

Blondes - massive hugs, thinking of you xxx

smokinaces · 12/05/2011 17:11

Hiya,

Piste and I have been AWOL as we have been with Blondes today at the funeral. Was a beautiful service, so personalised and dedicated - and Blondes did him proud she really did. Brave brave lady and gorgeous through and through.

Diet stinks. But am locarbing from the weekend as have put 7lb on and trousers are tight.

prettybird · 12/05/2011 18:14

Good to know that she had some slinkie support.

The service sounds like it was done extremely well.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/05/2011 07:06

Yes it was just perfect. Tears yes, but laughter and applause too. She is beautiful and brave and did him proud and should feel proud of herself too. He will remain forever young in her heart. X
What's that song? Someone like Bob Dylan. I shall have to find that today...

Well weighing in was a bit weird. My face was like Hmm
The scales say I've lost 5 lbs. Hmm.

Now I've really done this low carb thing 100%. All week, on and off I've been shaky, headachy and as I keep banging on about, burning inside Hmm Confused but I'm rather sceptical. When I looked earlier in the week I thought I was going to record -3. I would be delighted, but can't quite believe that my scales aren't dodgy!

Well done Piste! :)

I have sts! No great shock as haven't been commited to the cause as I'm feeling a bit rubbish! Must try & stop eating crap though. Comfort eating at it's ugly best!! :(

prettybird · 13/05/2011 08:32

It is possible to lose that much. :) Congratulations.

The trick is to be really careful when you start re-introducing carbs, as they go back on really easily. :(

GettinTrimmer · 13/05/2011 09:18

piste I did think you would be rewarded on the scales!

I am pleased you & smokin went yesterday and represented us x

blondes thinking of you x

pretty are you wi today? What day of the shred are you on now?

bebe well done on sts

smokin sorry you've gained, we will lose it together.

laughalot how's things with you?

I feel confident that I've lost weight this week, even if it's only 1lb.

Had a grotty day yesterday, the downside to working at the dc's school as lunchtime supervisor is I had to witness ds yesterday getting himself very upset and and angry, not behaving well at all Sad several of us there have dc in the school and we don't deal with our own kids so I had to carry on and not get involved.

He hasn't done this for a while, his teacher was telling me how well he is doing lately. He had a good night's sleep last night so fingers crossed for today.

GettinTrimmer · 13/05/2011 09:20

Oh, another thing on breakfast telly they were talking about how eggs are the perfect food for feeling full and studies show there is no need to restrict the amount we have. I can vouch for that as an eggy breakfast stops me snacking.

prettybird · 13/05/2011 10:08

Harumph Angry I had just written a long post and then Firefox crashed AGAIN Angry and I lost it all. Ever since I upgraded to Firefox 4, it has been crashing multiple times for no apparent reason and no warning. Anyway, I have now downloaded Opera and will have a look at that.

I'm not weighing in until after I have done the Shred and gone for a run.

Anyway, I'm not sure which day of the Shred I'm on - I had been stopping and starting the last few weeks. However, I did 3 days last week and (will) have done it 5 times this week, so my thinking is to do Level 1 again on Monday before moving on to the hated Level 2.

I agree about the eggs: I have had two boiled eggs for breakfast every day this week except today (when I had porage and blueberries) and they do keep you full. I occasionally have them for lunch as well. We always cook two extra: have two as soft boiled eggs with two to have later/next breakfast as cold hard boiled eggs (or, as ds calls them, "Greek eggs", 'cos that's what we get for breakfast at the hotel we go to in Greece)

smokinaces · 13/05/2011 11:04

howdi!

well just been shopping and bought LOADS of salad, veg, stirfrys, chicken and fish. And yogurts and fruit for snacking.

Low fat, with no potatoes/rice/pasta/bread here for the next week, and hopefully longer.

smokinaces · 13/05/2011 11:04

Piste, well done you!!!!! 5lb is ACE

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/05/2011 18:44

Well evening all,
I have updated the list below to show my -5lbs, but it doesn't really seem real iykwim? Although it has been hard work in parts for sure. However, it feels like pretend weight loss.

Funnily enough I saw a photo taken of me on Tuesday (from the front) and for the first time I didn't look at it and think bloody hell what a big fat blimp. If it had been of my rear end I almost certainly would have done Sad I'm happy to continue with the low carbing, everyone says it gets better after the first week. Fingers crossed they are right!!! Four more pounds weight loss and I will have lost 3 stone in total. I'm never going to go back to being big.
