The Berry Box is the dangerous wine that dh is tempting me with forcing me to drink. After all, it wouldn't do his liver any good if he drank a whole bottle of 14.5% alcohol wine on his own, would it?

Smalline · 05/05/2011 22:05

Sounds like my kind of wine Pretty the higher the alcohol content the betterGrin.

prettybird · 05/05/2011 22:49

What makes this wine so dangerous is that it doesn't taste like it is high alcohol. It slips down sooooo easily! [hic]Wine

Morning Slinks,
I'm not really sure what to do here Confused as I didn't weigh in last week, but when I did on Monday it was practically 12 stone Sad and then we had a bad day on Monday too. I have diligently stuck at my low carbing all week and this morning weighed in at 11:11, so I think that will be what I consider to be my starting weight for this low carb effort.

So it looks like I gained this week, but I haven't, I have certainly lost, but I sure as anything gained last week < sheepish >

I'm in same boat, having 'fixed' scales (DD had wedged this vine bit of duplo inside it! Hmm) I appear to have gained, but trousers feel a little looser than they did on Monday!

I still need a kick up the backside, and need to get back down to 10.6 by the 18th June!!!

Yoghurt for brekkie here. Soup for lunch, Chicken & salad for dinner.

DD starts preschool this afternoon, I'm a bundle of nerves! My baby is getting all grown up...not sure I'm ready!! :(

GettinTrimmer · 06/05/2011 11:03

Oh, I remember that feeling Bebe. How long will she be at pre-school for before going to school?

Some family hadn't seen ds for a long time and they said he is looking really grown up and manly. That felt a bit weird.

you lot chat so much piste? Grin I would say you've lost 4lb so well done.

Bebe you would have lost weight just your scales are knackered, so well done also.

I am not looking forward to tomorrow, no more shirking, will wi. I would have gained even though had a good week but easter excess to take into account.

bebejones · 06/05/2011 12:43

Trimmer - She'll be starting school next year (2012) :( Where have the last (almost) 3 years gone?!

She went in & started playing with the other children straight away & just waved at me from across the room as I left!

Just had big bowl of fresh celery soup & a small bowl of jelly...in a very quiet house!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/05/2011 16:40

This low carbing is making me feel a bit weird - my arms and legs feel funny, I can't really describe it and I am so tired plus massive headache all day. Since Tuesday then I haven't had any pasta, bread, potato, rice, lentils, cake, biscuits, booze etc, nothing like that at all.

I am wondering what else I should cut out - should I give up on my daily banana?! They are carb laden. What about other fruit and veg that should go?

I think you will see results Bebe, we can always keep going until June 18th!

OP posts:
prettybird · 06/05/2011 17:42

Piste : Have you been drinking plenty of water? It can cause headaches - because the ketosis draws fluids from your body.

I didn't weigh in this morning - had to go out quickly 'cos I got a call from my dad saying my mum had had to go to A&E 'cos she had fallen and split her lip/chin and he couldn't go 'cos he was ill.

Had to do a bit of business first and then went across to the hospital, who kept me waiting for over 30 minutes 'cos "she already had a man with her" (which is what they said when I queried why I was still waiting to be taken through - to which I had to explain, "yes, that's the guy from the nursing home - my father is ill or he would have brought her in himself which is why he asked me to come along when I could"). 2 minutes later I got called through Hmm - but by that time she had been examined and they were arranging for an ambulance to take her back. I said I could take her (along with the care assistant) - so then spent the next hour or so at the home with mum. She didn't need stitches and they say that the nose is just swollen and should be OK once the swelling goes down.

On a positive note - it has been a great day for the SNP :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/05/2011 18:17

A great day for the SNP but not for your poor mum. Sad Or you having to loiter when you should have gone through. Also Sad Hope she recovers quickly.

I'm not really knowing too much about ketones etc and I probably/ definitely havent had lots of water during the day, although I am now. My arms feel like they are burning on the inside Hmm What's that all about?!

Today I've had

My narnar and some melon ( yogurt free morning!)
Two apples
Really boring veggie soup
Having chicken and salad for supper later.

OP posts:
prettybird · 06/05/2011 18:23

Forgot to add that once I got mum back to the home, I got a text from dad saying that he was at the (same!) A&E getting a chest x-ray! Shock

Ironically, today the plan had been for me to go over at lunchtime to help dad when he brought her home for the first time in months :( We'd decided to give it a go because for the first time since (on the advice of the psychiatrist) dad had stopped taking her home, a week ago she had actually asked me to help her to go home.

The AV vote isn't looking too good

Just had chinese takeaway, not good for wi tomorrow. I won't mention the carbs.

Admiring your resolve low carbers.

GettinTrimmer · 06/05/2011 20:34

Just to make a change, I've borrowed some Slimmers' World stuff, it looks doable.

I am determined to see a couple of lbs off next week

smokinaces · 06/05/2011 21:00

ello! I am here. I am having another bad day to add to the list. Just to catch you up....

yesterday ^Its been a nightmare. Got a phone call from the school to say DS1 had snapped his glasses. So had to go get him early to race to town for an eye test as they wouldnt replace his glasses as he was due a retest. Had DS2 with me, so left h...im in the car briefly outside Co-op to run in and get some biscuits/mags/water to take. Cue him having a meltdown (I could see him the whole time) and one of the shop keepers tutting and a person coming into the co-op to have a go. All whilst the local police were standing behind me! (who did nothing, but am sure shopkeeper took my car reg) The school forgot to send DS1 down so we were late.

Trying to do an eyetest with a pissed off 4 year old (who I afterwards found out had half strangled someone in a bear huig and been disciplined at school) and a hyper 3 year old and not so accomodating optician was a 'mare. Then DS1 had a meltdown of huge proportions because the glasses I wanted to get he didnt like - they arent great looking but a lot more sturdy. So we had to traipse through 3 opticians before going back. By this time I gave into the McDs - but then they played up there too. Add various other bits too and you can see my stress levels!!

They have been showered and put to bed but I am shattered. Everytime I think I have cracked it I have a manic 3 hours like tonight!!!^

and today?? today my spare wheel fell off my car as I was driving at 25mph up the road. Its kept in a cage underneath - which snapped - cue big bang, metal screech, me jumping out the car screaming "what the fuck" and some guy saying "ere love, your wheels going down there" and chasing it down the fricken road.

Gah.

Then got called into the school with DS1 as he had decided yesterday to strangle someone and today to PISS everywhere on the toilet floor. Headteacher as well as class teacher had me there. Have spent the evening making star charts and wall planners and eating crap and drinking shit.

So the diet is fucked.

Oh, and I rung the doctor in a mad panic and have gone back up to 10mg of cipralex. Cannot cope at all.

So fingers crossed for a good week next week. Maybe. Sorry for the essay, will catch up with the rest of you now!!!

smokinaces · 06/05/2011 21:01

(copied and pasted my yesterday bit from a post I wrote on FB yesterday)

smokinaces · 06/05/2011 21:07

Bebe, DS2 starts school Sep 2012 - we can console each other with wine then!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/05/2011 22:49

Smokin - it sounds like you coped amazingly well with a very trying day. Bloody hell. Any one of those things would have been a trial. You done good. Smile

It's a new day tomorrow.
I thought we were having thunderstorms tonight? I was looking forward to them. Maybe later.

Low carbing still going.

Now would anyone like Apprentice spoilers?! DH did some tv/ radio interviews yesterday work wise. Nothing exciting at all. He just talks about boring work/ business. But the lady who looked after him was some PR bod from the Apprentice. She gave him two spoilers and some general info. Anyone want to know - pm me! Actually it's just two tasks so dont get too excited!

Had to get up at 5.30 today, busy, busy day at a school event, I was part cooking onions for the barbecue until nearly midnight. Bebe, this will come to you as soon as your DD starts school! Kindly I signed DH up to an early slot so he has gone already Grin ( he is doing 6am - 9am ) and I am doing 9 - 12, but DD has to be there by 8.30.

What I need is a spreadsheet and a big fat coffee.

It's their school regatta, and based on performance today, but also what has gone before, a very important selection ( important in DD's world ) will be made next week, so please keep it all crossed as she is desperate

Not sure what I'm going to eat today, as these things tend to be barbecue based, but also quite boozy. Sigh.

OP posts:
bebejones · 07/05/2011 08:31

Hugs for Pretty & Smokin! :( Today is a new day, hoping things get better for both of you x

Still carb free here, but I am in dire need of a coffee, not sure if it's allowed? But I've hardly slept (screaming DD/snoring DH/needing to pee/scary thunder & lightning) & I feel rubbish!

Also got to drag my fat lazy arse to Tesco...again! Aaaaarrrggghh!! I spend half my life there. DH & I are arguing agonising over DDs pre-school hours from Sept. She's done one afternoon & they need to know what hours we want for next term by the end of the month! Eeek!

Piste - Have fun at school thingy! Love onions on a BBQ sausage! YUM!

GettinTrimmer · 07/05/2011 09:18

Smokin best wishes for a better week, take care xx your dc are still so little

I found ds on the landing, huddled up in his duvet as he doesn't like lightening. He also has a rash and is very grumpy this morning.

Bebe I'm sure coffee is OK? I suppose the carbs are in the milk.

Pisty you did a grand job on those onions. do they make you cry?

I have very bad news on the wi front Sad ALL my own fault.
