I'm still undecided about our local election. The only stuff we have had through the door has been Tory, who are already in charge! So either the others don't think it's worth bothering or are so confidant of getting in they don't need to bother! Hmm

Dentist has fixed tooth, but I am not allowed to eat for 2 hours! [hungry emoticon]

prettybird · 05/05/2011 11:38

Isn't that Shock - open mouth looking for food Grin? Or Biscuit?

bebejones · 05/05/2011 11:41

Don't go dangling Biscuit in front of me!! They are the forbidden fruit...well forbidden Biscuit!! Wink

prettybird · 05/05/2011 11:46

We've had at least 4 communications from the SNP (this is a marginal seat - she won by 700 last time but boundary changes now mean that in theory it would revert to Labour by 27 votes), two from Labour, 1 one from Green, 2 from Tories, two from the BNP, one from the Pensioners' Party (or something like that), one from the Scottish Socialist Party, one from the Lib Dems. Apart from Labour and SNP, most are asking for the 2nd vote as they know that they don't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting the Constituency vote (the 2nd vote is the PR vote and each of the parties have a list of prospective MSPs and the number from that list that get in depends on the proportions in that region that have voted for the respective parties.

The SNP candidate will get in anyway, as she is top of the list - but I'd like her to retain her constituency seat and still have a decent number of SNP list MSPs get in.

TBH the tories are doing quite a good job here locally on the council (It's just council elections here) so although I feel a bit meh about them, their proposals for what they want to achieve & what they have already done are quite good. However, the bloke who previously owned our house (and wrecked it with his DIY habit) is one of our local Tory councillors!! So that puts me off! Not really sure what to do. Confused

PistyNoMates · 05/05/2011 14:08

How are the Musketeers doing with avoiding carbs?!
Good here, just about to have veggie soup for lunch. Don't know about later.

Agree with you pretty. It is a crap alternative but what we have now is not right either.

Working from home right now, would it be inappropriate to put my jim jams on?!! It's 2pm.

bebejones · 05/05/2011 14:38

I'm doing ok today...no carbs (well no naughty ones)

Yoghurt for brekkie
Egg & tuna salad for lunch

Prob soup for dinner! :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/05/2011 14:51

If you get to the end of today carb free, then you can be Porthos.
Pretty can be Athos
GT can be D'Artagnan, because she is practically low carbing
And I'll be the other one

You're excused for the moment Blondes :)

I've been to vote and then went to have an free set of treatments (sauna, exfoliation, back massage, head and shoulder massage and facial) at a local FE College :) Then went to the school for parents' night, where we got a great report about our ds ("he's such a lovely kid......"). :)

The fact that it has been raining all day could be seen as a negative - except the garden was really needing it.

So far today, have had 2 boiled eggs, a cappuccino (with a piece of tablet Hmm), some brie and a satsuma. Not sure what we're having for dinner yet - I've still to do the weekly shop.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/05/2011 17:43

What a lovely day Pretty. Well done to your DS too.

So far
I banana
2 muller lights
Bowl veg soup that Blondes would call 0 points
1 pear

Having tuna and salad This evening.

Voting later.

GettinTrimmer · 05/05/2011 18:17

Not low carbing here chaps, had bean casserole with rice in the pub at lunch time and jacket spud salad and salmon for tea.

Just given in to a little bit of grazing but doing better than I have done for ages.

Off to vote after tea, both sides have pros and cons but going for yes.

bebejones · 05/05/2011 18:33

I have been and voted, then knocked up a veggie stir fry as was too hot for soup! DH & DD had noodles...I did not! :( DH also left all his veggies and just ate his noodles Hmm Angry FFS anyone would think he was the 2 year old. Needless to say DD saw this and didn't eat hers either!! But that's a whole different matter!

I am still carb free. :)

Well done Pretty's DS!

Blondes - very Envy of your carbs! :o

Is sugar free jelly carbs?!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/05/2011 18:34

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/05/2011 18:38

Well gelatin is a protein. And without the sugar I think it is carb free. Someone will know for sure.

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 05/05/2011 18:40

that beauty treatment sounds fab pretty and well done to your ds.

You've reminded me my eyebrow wax is overdue

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/05/2011 19:04

GT - the last few times I've had mine threaded. Bloody ow! But a good result. I do prefer them waxed though but the place I used to go to shut and I can't be arsed to trek off and find an alternative place. So threading it is [sigh]

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 05/05/2011 19:20

I've got mad eyebrows piste, they will go Dennis Healey like if I'm not careful. I tried threading once, and after one pull agree bloody ow, said changed my mind, wax them!!

bebejones · 05/05/2011 19:50

I checked the packet & it is practically carb free (ie way less than 0.something%) :o Have made a packet up so will be allowed that when it has set! :o

I haven't had carbs today (well not the banned ones) so can I be Porthos again? Going to go and have some yoghurt & fruit salad to fill me up til bedtime!:)

prettybird · 05/05/2011 20:01

Got some lamb chops for supper which I'll serve with some fine French beans (I'll do so chips for dh).

Unfortunately, I forgot that 'cos I got lamb, dh feels forced to open a bottle of red Wine - and it is very yummy Blush It's 14.5% alcohol though so even more calories than usual and so nice you can't just drink a glass but dh is getting it at trade price and so what if we are drinking the profits

Oops.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/05/2011 20:03

I had to get her to show me what she did but on my arm. It's like getting caught in a zip. It's extraordinarily painful. I should go and find somewhere else that does waxing.

I'm full of good intentions sadly!! Am loving the idea of Dennis Healey eyebrows!

Off for tuna and salad. We've done three whole carb free days my fellow Musketeers!!

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/05/2011 20:09

Yes. Bebe. You can be Porthos.

I feel a bit weird tbh. But that may or may not have anything to do with the low carbing!

Step away from the wine Pretty the Musketeer Envy
