actually im a very reserved person Grin

bebejones · 12/04/2011 20:42

MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I LOVE carrot cake!! :o

Sit ups - LRD - Don't do them if you have eaten within an hour beforehand or drunk a large drink in that time. Coz it squelches in your tum & that might be making you feel pukey! I tend to alternate between straight up and then twisting to each side on the sit up to try & combat the side squidy bits. Also 'reverse' sit ups are good. (I can't do so many of those) Lie on back, put legs up in air with knees bent so you are a sort of 'Z' shape. Using your tummy muscles (not momentum of moving legs) to lift your bum up off the floor. It's a killer. 10-15 is about my limit!

I not been good today..or yesterday...or sunday...or saturday!! Oh bugger! Blush

JaneS · 12/04/2011 22:24

Thanks bebe! It's not the eating/drinking, so I will try the 'reverse' ones.

I am the world's most clueless person when it comes to exercise - someone at the pool today told me I was swimming 'wrong' and that's the only thing I thought I knew what to do! Fortunately we concluded I was probably using as much energy floundering inefficiently as doing it properly so no worries! Grin

Do you mind me asking what you do in general, bebe? I'd love to be a bit more toned-looking.

JaneS · 12/04/2011 22:26

Btw, blondes you are EVIL! Grin

I've been resisting clicking on your cake link all afternoon but now I've been swimming my resolve is gone and I had a peek ... delicious sight! I really want some now!

I'm watching Great British Menu too ... food porn is so addictive isn't it? Wish it stopped me reaching for the real thing. Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/04/2011 00:08

It was yummy lrd but so naughty !!!

I'm gonna gain this week and I promise I won't moan

Honest

bebejones · 13/04/2011 08:26

To be honest LRD I don't really do much! Blush I don't have the time/energy mostly. And I still have a dodgy/painful hip which is restricting what I can do. I try to walk everywhere with DD that I can. And lifting her up has toned my arms a little...ish! I can't afford the gym or anything so I'm sort of stuck doing what I can at home.

I'm so going to gain this week, not that I'll be able to check!! Plus going to mums on Friday without DD!!! :o For 2 whole nights!!!! (Longest I have ever been without her and she is 2.8!!) Hen do on Sat, with BBQ and cakes and bad stuff & booze & I intend to make the most of not having a small person to look after! :o

PistyNoMates · 13/04/2011 09:26

Who likes my new name??!!! Grin

Mrs B, you will moan Grin I am off to find my armoured vehicle!
Going to meet friends for coffee so may have to rethink my new name.

GettinTrimmer · 13/04/2011 10:37

Grin lol piste. Not true though you have all us slinks.

I meant to ask how are your relatives back in Japan? Keeping an eye one the news.

Much chat since I last popped on but notice you're back LRD. Welcome Smile Will try and catch up later.

Now, this is off subject but blondes/piste or anyone who can offer some advice, dd (now 6) asked "mummy the sperm and the egg meet to make a baby, but how does the sperm get to the egg?" I said it's a special cuddle that adults do and she wanted to know exactly how, giggling said "is it like this mummy" and pushed her tummy at me. And "do you do that with daddy?" I managed to fob her off as it just seems such a young age to explain, but at the same time I really do want to be open and frank Confused

I read the Usborne flip flap body book to her some time ago as she had questions but now not sure how to proceed. Ds is 8 and hasn't asked yet.

Smalline · 13/04/2011 12:42

I remember being asked the same question by my DD then 7 last year Trimmer, I too had previously explained that mummy and daddy had special cuddles to get them in my tummy, DS then 9 was also with us we were in the park together (DS had on one previous occasion walked in whilst mummy and daddy were having a special cuddle, I don't know how long he was standing thereBlush) anyway I explained to both of them in a matter of fact kind of way, what happens during these special cuddles, that daddy puts his penis inside mummy's vagina and that when the sperm is released it swims up to mummy's egg. We have the 'Let's talk about sex book' which we sometimes look through together.

Healthy eating is out of the window this week with the kids being on holiday, will probably have a gain.

Welcome LRD

bebejones · 13/04/2011 13:10

I am dreading 'that' question!! Think I have a few years yet!

I been good so far, but been busy doing actual work for DH! It's easy to be good when you are busy!

B - Grapefruit juice, cereal bar & lf yoghurt
L - 3/4 apple, 2 ryvita (with philly light & tomato chutney) and 1/3 pack walkers baked crisps. :)

Off to get a pint of squash to fill me up & stop me reaching for the cake tin!! Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/04/2011 16:05

pisty i promise i wont moan at weight gain as i have been so bad

i have been so bad again

'sighs'

had pizza and more cakes at easter party

im writing whole week off, i will wi on friday and i wont complain about the gain i have!!

bebe enjoy hen do and no dd!!

trimmer i see my name has been dragged into this again Grin

i beleive in being truthful to children and when they do ask, to be true but simple

when younger i say a special cuddle makes babies, but that only works on adults, or that the children give a cuddle to a friend, then dash in and say im pregnant as had a special cuddle lol

something along the lines of

mummy has eggs in her tummy

daddy has sperm in his willy

daddy puts his willy into mummy and his sperm joins the egg and then starts to grow and a baby is made

PistyNoMates · 13/04/2011 16:15

DD was 4 and said something like "I know babies grow inside the mummy's tummy, but how exactly do they get in there?" so I just sort Of bit the bullet and did it almost exactly like smalline actually. She wanted the facts! She's like that though. She had been terribly curious about things when I was pregnant with DS, but was only two then. we were in the bathroom of our old house. I can remember it clearly!

Any way Bebe, don't dread it - she'll be trying to make sense of the world. It's fabulous!!

PistyNoMates · 13/04/2011 16:22

And I'm thinking of a name change now I've got over being the only one on the biggest loser thread last night. I fancy an Easter theme.. RatherBeOn.... Something. But what. Any help. Don't need to be PistyNoMates anymore!!

GettinTrimmer · 13/04/2011 16:46

yes I will just tell her when she asks again agree it's best to be truthful, she is like your dd Pistylotsofmates, curious! Thanks all.

I'd better tell ds as well, in fact we have an usborne book pocket scientist that explains it in one paragraph what you've all said, I was holding back reading it, but as she's asked now's the time.

PistyNoMates · 13/04/2011 17:12

I think when they are ready to ask properly, they are ready to know properly.

My friend breeds ponies ( used to actually ) and when her DDs were small they knew exactly how it all happened in a very practical countryfied way. She did have to explain to them that a man was quite different in size to a pony though! They were a bit Confused

GT Maybe your DD will be like ours- passionate about science?!

PistyNoMates · 13/04/2011 17:32

Just doing my Easter tree......

smokinaces · 13/04/2011 20:25

I'm sorry Piste! I have been so busy painting my kitchen I havent watched Biggest Loser yet - will catch up with it in a minute!! But on the plus side my whole house is finally decorated 2 years after I moved in :-) (well it will be finished when I lay the bathroom floor, but ignoring that after all the painting!!!)

Was v.v.v.good. And then took the boys to McDs. Even bought myself a chicken salad deli to be good.

and then had fries.

Ooops.

JaneS · 13/04/2011 21:07

Evening everyone.

I'm not envying you having to have the 'how are babies made' conversation - there's no way I'll keep a straight face when it comes to that!

I'm posting on here in the home it'll distract me from eating the Cherry Almond cake ... or the sour cream pretzels ... or the all-butter Fudge ... or anything 'D'H has left lying around!

I've swum just under 10 miles this week and I'm feeling really good about it so hopefully can keep up some fitness alongside the diet. I hope ...

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/04/2011 21:30

i havnt had any tea as im stuffed from the pizza and cakes i ate at the easter egg party Blush

JaneS · 13/04/2011 21:37
Grin

Well, it was a party blondes, you were practically required to eat them, no?

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/04/2011 22:26

Yes I was lrd

I'm glad you understand!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/04/2011 09:35

GettinTrimmer · 14/04/2011 09:41

I've just had 1 slice of beans on toast so hopefully will be full till lunchtime.

Life happens inbetween the diet doesn't it blondes, I have today and tomorrow to be saintly until wi.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/04/2011 09:49

Morning all. Have just dropped my lovely bike off for a service. It will be about £120 < thud> but I do use it everyday and it hasn't had one for 5 years. So DH won't think that's too bad will he ?!

DD is back from her adventure training in Wales. They stayed in some army barracks and had a great time. But she was very glad to go to bed in her own bed last night!

Have a good day everyone.
