2 stone to lose - GL and couch - 5km

Ok so I'm now desperate to lose 2 stone. Starting to feel motivated so have bought Holford's GL diet book (just started reading). Makes a lot of sense. I'm also going to start running with the couch - 5km on Bupa website. Going to start getting into motivated mode over the weekend...with 1st run Saturday morning! Buying a set of scales this afternoon, but think I'm about 11 stone at 5ft4. Going to do this slowly though, so only looking at 1lb a week weightloss, an extra 1lb here and there would be an excellent bonus Grin

Would anyone care to join me for motivation/to keep me on the straight and narrow?! Also to share any tasty recipes/food/snack ideas etc!

Will weigh-in on a Saturday Smile

Jobi1, am so sorry been silent for so long. Annoyed with myself as training schedule is going so badly - whenever my dd got over chickenpox my ds got it, seems to have gone on for weeks! And delaying my schedule has got me totally off-track. Need to get myself sorted and motivated.
You are doing brilliantly losing all that weight! Well done on making a success of it, am hoping it will inspire me to get going again :)

hey me too! sorry... I am doing so badly was too ashamed to post more failure! but today have had PT kick up ass - finished week 3 at new top speed and feel back in the zone - weight is still to be sorted so joined MFP - hope this isthe start of a new me!

Jobi - you are doing so well - keep it up -I shall try to be better!

Jobi1 · 08/05/2011 18:02

Hiya, sorry to hear about chickenpox deedee :o(

I have had a MAJOR blip and put on 5lbs, despite doing extra exercise and staying within cals for 5 out of 7 days :o( Am really peed off.

can I just say that if possible can we stick together on this and try and motivate each other? Otherwise there doesn't seem much point :o(

On a more positive note competed week 7 of c25k and feel so much fitter already I'm really chuffed.

Come on girls, stick with it!

Christ, all the grins are meant to be sad faces!! Doh. Sad Sad Sad

Sorry!!

ZZMum · 08/05/2011 18:33

just posted long message only for system to crash!

jobi do not lose heart over weight - if it went on that fast it will come ofquickly so i bet your next weight in will be more positive... i had a severe telling off by my pT who made me realise the level of commitment i need to have to achieve these goals - am just playing around with it so i amBACK - just ordered a lot of damsel in a dress stuff in what i thought would be a size that would almost fit me - so wrong - now am back and will be here much more often and focusED - i will do it !!!

Off to gym now for Wk4 Day 1... will update assuming i survive!!

Jobi1 · 09/05/2011 14:34

I signed up for 7 boot camp sessions via Groupon - bring it on!!

Unfortunately also diagnosed with gatritis today and feeling pretty rubbish, so having a rest day today.

ZZMum · 09/05/2011 14:52

oooh that is brave - I see them all the time adn think about doing it and then just see it as a quick way to die!!

Hope you feel better soon .. off to try Week 4 day 1 again .. not very good yesterday - think I have a built in stop at 2 mins!

Jobi1 · 10/05/2011 22:05

managed week 8 session 1 tonight, although it wasn't easy! 28 minutes running! And hopefully those weird extra pounds are melting off, so despite stuoid stomach thing and feeling a bit more positive Smile

I think if you're struggling with a session its a great idea to repeat it, you'll get there! xx

ZZMum · 11/05/2011 08:32

Week 8 - well done - I am still stuck in the hell of week 4 - tried again last night - did 3, 5,3 minute runs and then just could not do any more - going to try again at lunch time - weirdly did enjoy the runs when I was doing them and got massive sense of achievement and then hit a wall...

and my weight loss has just stalled - been so good for the last 4 days and weight not moved - i know should be patient but I can remember a time when I could lose 4lb and my stomach in 4 days Sad

Jobi1 · 15/05/2011 21:32

No one about this week...

Anyway, those extra pounds melted away and took another one with them, so I'm down 12lbs so far :o)

Also on Week 9 of couch to 5k and going great. I've done 2 runs on my own as my running buddy was away for a few days, which I'm really chuffed with, and am also improving my pace a fair bit. I feel like I've really achieved a lot in the last 9 weeks and I'm so pleased I started this.

The race for life is in 3 weeks and I've raised about £300 so far, woo hoo! And my mate and I have decided to sign up for a 5 mile race in 2 months time - bring it on!!

ZZMum · 16/05/2011 13:37

hey well done - have just finished Week 4 and almost able to breathe at teh end so feeling good - plus have lost 4lb!! you are very motivating to read about - 12lb must be making you feel great!

Jobi1 · 22/05/2011 10:27

I completed the couch to 5k programme this week and now feel as if I can just "be" a runner again, which is really what I wanted to achieve. Weight still fluctuating a little, I'm hoping its a bit of a plateau blip. This thread seems to have died a death anyway, but good luck to anyone that drops in.
