Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

lou so exciting about the size 14 jeans!

noway and going hooooray! Well done! Gonna have to buy new poms at this rate as you are all wearing the old ones out with your success stories!

norma I think I'm going to be on the reception desk signing people in. It's a brand new class (started last week in my village so I transferred over from my previous class) so not a lot of people at it yet. Good time for me to start! Will be going half an hour early to help set up too. Quite looking forward to it!

Right, my tummy is telling me it's time for lunch...

bluebump · 01/02/2011 13:12

loubloutwinmum I really enjoy doing the shred dvd as it's so short that I can usually fit it in during the week. The week I did it the most I actually put 2lbs on but regardless of that I can feel the difference so I think in the long run it's better than not doing it! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2011 13:33

noway well done on loss and enjoy the teacake

sweetheart Blush i dont actually play netball, i watch and cheer eldest dc - but i did at school and i was GA and scored many goals lol

going well done on loss :)

parsnip soup was yummy :) and still have enough for one more bowl, so may have after playing watching netball for 3pp

sweetheart · 01/02/2011 14:26

Blondes wise choice on the netball, otherwise you'd end up like me waiting for an op! It's a much better sport from the sidelines Wink

sigh, if only that were really true! I can't wait to recover and get back on court.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2011 14:33

its swful when you injure yourself, when i badly sprained my ankle last year, took 3mths to be bale to go back to the gym :(

i also managed to disoclate and pop my knee out about 4 years ago - it is still not 100% right and at times aches :( it also has a horrible click to it, which drives dh insane, so i dib click it if he has pissed me off Grin

sweetheart · 01/02/2011 15:56

blondes - did you hear or feel a pop when you did your knee? You may have ruptured a ligament. That is exactly what I have done, dislocated my knee twice playing netball and now have to have the ligament pinned.

day to day it doesn't really give me any trouble and after the 1st time I managed to play on it for 18 months before it popped again so even if it's not giving you a lot of trouble there may be an underlying problem.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2011 16:04

felt it move and pop out during body combat, physio clicked it back in, i then fell -pissed in the rain and went down and clunked the same knee about a year later which didnt help

generally it is fine, but i sound like an old biddy when walking down the stairs, esp in the morning Grin

have just made tuna&veg pesto pasta bake for dc, with melted cheese on top

i had a mouthful, thought i had died and gone to heaven Grin

i try and stay away from cheese as so bad

wonder how much cheese i could eat for 49pp Grin

loubloutwinmum · 01/02/2011 16:15

Hi all, back from lunch and feeling full and guilty and trying to ignore the guild as have pointed it all.

Starter was 7 pp - 2 very small crab cakes, salad and chilli sauce.

Main - well, lamb shanks were off the menu (what a blessing as pointed it as about 23 on its own) so had lamb cutlets. They served up 4 with dauphinoise potatoes & green beans - I only ate 2 cutlets (none of the fat), half the potato and the beans and have allocated 20 pp (does that sound OK or too little?).

Pudding - Creme Brulee - was gorgeous but only ate half of it so 5pp

Plus one small glass of wine (was rude not to) so lunch comes to 35 pp - wow!!!

Have some 0 point soup for tea.

Sweetheart - Pizza Express is great - the lighter pizzas (Leggara or something like that) range from 13 - 15 points. Then for pudding they do a coffee and a mini dessert - the figs with mascarpone and syrup is delicious and only about 6 pp (my guess).

I have eaten out or had a take out at least once a week since starting PP so it really does work and fit in with a "normal" life!

Highheidyin size 14 feels a little more snug after lunch Wink! But a few commented on how nice I looked which gives you a bit of a boost.

bluebump thanks, I will give the Shred a go when it finally arrives from Amazon.

Hope anyone with WI's still to come has good news. I think I will do half an hour on the exercise bike tonight to make up for the indulgent lunch.

sweetheart · 01/02/2011 16:24

loub - sounds like a yummy lunch

OK - rant alert!

This is what annoys me with the new pp scheme and the information! The Pizza Express website are using the ww logo and advertising that their leggera range is ww friendly BUT it only says the pizza's are between 13 and 15 points. I mean really, what bloody use is that?

They haven't pointed the starter or the dessert options AND when I pointed up some of the "normal" pizza express meals they are less than 13-15 points so wouldn't it be better to advertise them as the ww friendly meals!

I'm getting more than a little ticked off too with the points being different online and in the books.

Phew - ok rant over, normal service is now resumed Wink

sweetheart · 01/02/2011 16:30

loub - just had a look at the points and I would say you have allocated plenty - too many if anything.

4 pretty large crabcakes are 7pp
lamb cutlet are 7pp each
pots are approx 1pp per 25g so depends how much you ate - I'd guess at about 100g maybe

100g cremem brulee (pretty standard for a restaurant I'd think) is 9pp

froot · 01/02/2011 16:44

Put on 1 lb . Worth it for the cocktails alone . Trying quern pepper steaks tonight only 3 Pp each so having two .

Just calculated rice krispy squares bar as 3 points ? Can this be true ? Can someone check please ???!

froot · 01/02/2011 16:45

Quorn obviously ruddy iPhone

bigTillyMint · 01/02/2011 17:27

Am looking for rice krispy bars in shop book, but I can't see them.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2011 17:56

lou that sounds yummy Envy well done for being restrained, but yes think you have pp too high

sweetheart Angry for you, its very annoying thats books, online and our blue calcultor all say different for some foods, but for a company to say they are ww based and then be wrong/not have all the pp is useless - let alone normal pizza's being less than 15pp

froot i though they were 4, sorry about 1lb gain :(

I have also sinned, was being mary poppins a good nanny and made cakes with the dc, i helped lick the bowl Blush and then ate 2 thin slices of cake Blush not sure what that is in pp, but def dipping into my weekies this week :( and soon be running out and still got 2 days till WI :(

NormaSknockers · 01/02/2011 18:39

Evening all, lap top is finally up and running again Grin

Blondes how many weekly points are you using each day on average do you find?

vnmum here's the Chorizo Lasagne recipe for you;

400g Butternut Squash, chopped into small chunks
1 Red Pepper, deseeded and chopped
1 Courgette, chopped
1 Large Red Onion, cut into wedges
12 Cherry tomatoes, halved
50g Chorizo, chopped
1 500g jar of Pasta Sauce
1 packet of Chedder Cheese Sauce Mix
300ml Skimmed Milk
6 Lasagne sheets

Place the squash, pepper, courgette and onion into an oven dish, season and roast in the oven on 180 fan for 15 minutes. Stir, add the chorizo and roast for another 5-10 minutes. Add the tomatoes, sauce mix and stir. Place half the mix into another oven dish and top with 3 sheets of the lasgane, add the rest of the mix and top with the other 3 sheets of the lasagne. Make the chedder cheese sauce mix with the skimmed milk then pour all over the top of the lasagne sheets. Bake in the oven for about 30 mins on 180 fan and serve!

That serves 4 and is 7 PPs per serving - the recipe calls for 50g of chorizo but I add 80g as I found it didn't alter the points :)

Evening.

I'm coming to the end of week two (lost 3.5 lbs in week 1) and I'd really appreciate some of your collective wisdom, as you all seem to be doing well

  1. Does anyone know how many points are in a Mug Shots Noodle - chicken flavour. When I calculate online it says 7pp, but it also comes up in the database as 1pp. It can't be 1, can it? Why are the two values so different? Confused
  1. Are the 49 weekly points really for eating? I can see they're really useful if you're going out or for a special occasion or moment of weakness. But is it better not to have them at all?
androbbob · 01/02/2011 20:19

Evening again!

Had a quick catch up and there are loads of lovely weight losses - well done one and all!

I am reporting a 2lb loss today - only need 1lb next week to get my first stone! On a big mission now - will be following blondes advice this week to take my treats out of my 49 points and have my 29 daily points as proper food! It is worth a go and if I manage to lose 3.5lbs I will be in the bext stone down bracket!

Now then ladies - it is the first of Feb (eek!) so can we have some new mini goal setting for the month! I scrolled back to find our last ones in January and I guess many people will have achieved them - if you didnt then dont be downhearted - it is ages uuntil the summer! Grin

So, have a think - is your goal to be a dress size smaller, get your first or next silver seven, or get your 5% ot 10%. Is anyone nearing goal? Let us know and we can motivate each other - February is a short month so we will be at the end of it sooner rather than later - we could all be half a stone lighter!

I'll start (copy and paste and then add yours!)

androbbob - get my stone (1lb) and then 10% (another 4 on)

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2011 20:25

norma 5/7 this week Blush normally 3/4 for a treat and 1st week ate them all one night for a curry

I'm still nervous about eating them all - I feel I should only eat 20/30 a week

pru welcome and well done - doubt if soup is1 tbh - I would go by nutritional values on packet and what they convert to via calculator

And I don't know the answer to bo 2 - some on ww eat all and lose - others say if they eat all they gain/sts - I try to eat some but not all

NormaSknockers · 01/02/2011 20:38

dp I would go by the calculator, how many grams is it? Re the weekly points everyone seems different, I use mine every week and I've lost a stone since starting on the PP plan - I've gained on 3 of the weeks but 2 were due to AF and one due to being a pig and eating everything that wasn't nailed down one weekend Grin

Well done your loss androb well done you Grin Good idea on the goals too!

androbbob - get my stone (1lb) and then 10% (another 4 on)
Norma - Get to 12 stone (4.5lb off) reach 10%

Don't be Blush Blondes my first few weeks I was like that! I still have days like it now, I always use mine, I always say I won't but I always end up using them - ooppss!

I've just got back from weighing in. I've lost another 0.5 of a pound. It's only a little bit, but I'm pleased with it because I've eaten out 4 times this week. In spite of that, I managed to keep my weight going in the right direction.

I've lost 32lbs in total (2st 4lbs). Grin
