November challenge! 10lbs to lose before Christmas!! Wanna join?

I know it's not the first of the month, but I'm only a day late :) I seriously need to kick start my body bootcamp before Christmas - just returned a pair of jeans for a bigger size, only to find that the BIGGER ONES DON'T FIT!!

Enough is enough! I'm sticking to 1300 cals a day and walking 30mins daily. Postnatal SPD pretty much limits me to that, when it comes to exercise. I've been feeling really fed up with the pelvic pain too, so I need to do something about getting the old me back :)

Nothing complicated, just good, simple food, and straightforward moving/walking a bit more. Anyone up for it? We can weigh in on Sundays and share what we lost (rather than our actual weight lol) to cheer each other on?

Six weeks till Christmas!! Can I lose 10lb???

am totally with you but i wanna lose 12lbs - that allowed? :)

Pinkytinky · 02/11/2010 15:29

I really need to. Feeling fat and frumpy after birth of dd2. Just what I need... I think I'll join you.

whyme2 · 02/11/2010 15:48

I'm in, just yesterday I was thinking I could lose 8 to 10 lbs before xmas. I am only cutting back a little and walking a lot more.

ninaandbean · 02/11/2010 16:12

8, 10, 12lbs - whatever your goal is, go for it! I only suggested 10lbs as I think it's realistic in 7 weeks. For me, that would take me down to 11st 4lbs... which I hope, will put me back into size 12-14 jeans. I bloody hope so anyway as I have accidentally got a new pair of size 14 ones that I now realise require some effort for me to squeeze my postnatal bum into lolShock

It's only 1-2lbs a week, which is safe and sustainable, and I hope, achievable! Then I peronally aim to maintain over Christmas (fingers crossed!) and start over in the New Year with weightloss - ultimate aim, 10st, and size 10 Grin but just for now, I'm happy with the kick start of 10lbs before xmas.

Post your tips and goals so we can motivate each other :)

Count me in ladies Grin

I'm almost 4 weeks into my health kick (cut out the crap and am going to the gym 4 times a week) and I've lost 12 lbs so far taking me from a very podgy 12st Blush to a slightly less so 11st 4lbs Grin.

My target for xmas is 10st 7lbs!

Bring it on!!!

naughtymummy · 02/11/2010 16:22

Im in got a xmas do at work and can't fit in my LBD. My plan is running, pilates and no money spent on food outside the house. Aim from 10st to 9'3" or thereabouts

ninaandbean · 02/11/2010 16:26

My tip of the day: if you want help to keep track of what your 'work outs' (walking to the shops etc) count for, and what you're eating adds up to ladies, sign up to www.livestrong.com and use the my plate tracking system - there are about a million foods listed on there and some genius has already put in calorie counts burned for activities like doing the ironing and looking after a toddler. I've been half heartedly using it for ages but now I've worked out that I can set a calorie goal its actually pretty useful. Logging my food diary in a public place makes me think twice about what I eat too! You can add friends so brave people can add buddies on there and see what we're all eating. I'm signed on there as Lillybet if anyone wants to add :)

(I don't work for them btw, just plugging it cos it's free lol)

I'm in. I was trying on a dress I wore for a Christmas party last year and was mortified to find that I can't fasten it!

I've lost 4 lbs this month just by cutting out all the crap. I'm going to have to step up the exercise regime to get the remaining 10lb off.

I'm doing something similar to Nina but using an iPhone app. Its ace, as I make myself log the food before I eat it. Makesme think about what I'm eating (I'm a grazer). (It also has calorie counts for exercise as well)

tegan · 02/11/2010 16:43

I would love to join you ladies and lose anything over 7lbs

ninaandbean · 02/11/2010 16:50

yay! feeling motivated already :)

Hello, I'll join :)

Have lost 10lbs in 2 months, have a helluva lot more than that to lose but slow and steady wins the race apparently :o

Been doing well with slim fast bar or shake for breakfast and then just being sensible, and more walking.

Aiming at a pound a week loss, as I'm still BFing. Although I have tonsillitis ATM so it's rather scuppered the exercise :(

MABS · 02/11/2010 17:44

Am 9st 12lb and 5 ft 8 tall, my goal is 9stone by xmas. there! i have put it in writing! now i have to do it :)

ninaandbean · 02/11/2010 22:28

whoops went out tonight and had pizza and brownies for dinner. I guess that was my last blowout before I get serious!!

There's no way I'll lose 10lb if I don't quit the junk food. GAH. Gonna get Nike on my ass now, and just do it!

Eek!

I'm in too - so glad to see this thread coming up. I am still 2 stone heavier than what I was before I got pregnant and my DD is now 3! I stayed pretty constant for most of that time, but recently things are getting a bit tight on me. Exercise is the key for me, so am determined to find the time to go to the gym. Ideally I'd like 10lbs off by Christmas, maybe even 12, but not sure if that's possible.
BunnyLebowski - that's a great loss - any tips??

MABS · 03/11/2010 08:37

good last night, just small dinner and no booze! tonight i going for cocktails tho, ooooops :(

Pinkytinky · 03/11/2010 10:19

I'm aimimg to be good Monday to Friday and give myself a bit of a break on the weekend. I LOVE the not buying food outside of the house idea that is my biggest downfall!

MABS · 03/11/2010 10:51

totally agree re food out of house idea, just have to do it!

Furball · 03/11/2010 11:01

I'm in!

need to lose 2 stone - but 10lb by christmas would be a fab start.

Menagerie · 03/11/2010 13:34

I really want to join in. Am the heaviest I've ever been. Nearly 11 stone, when my usual weight is 9 4. have been horribly unmotivated and munching through Halloween chocs as if there's six of me. :(. Really fed up with being porky and lethargic. Can't decide whether to do a SW type green/red days thing, or just cut down on crap and do lots of exercise.

working9while5 · 03/11/2010 13:35

I have just got my 25lbs star from WW online!

I am aiming for the full 14, ladies. 52 days, that's 7 and a bit weeks, 2lbs a week.

I am 12st 2.5 and would like at the very least to be 11st 4. This should (ideally) make me a size 12-14.

Ultimate aim is 10st 7.

MABS · 03/11/2010 13:58

well done working9while5, that's great

BunnyLebowski · 03/11/2010 14:47

Hi littledolly Smile

My big tip is to cut out bread, drink as much water as you can and don't give in to snack temptations!!

I'm going to the gym 4 times a week for a 45 min workout.

Daily food is

Breakfast - muesli or porridge with fruit

Lunch - homemade soup with 2 oatcakes

Dinner - lean grilled fish or chicken with a small jacket spud and as much veg as I can put away.

Before I was eating 4 rounds of white bread toasted on a morning dripping with lurpak. Greggs or mayonnaise sodden butty for lunch probably with a bag of crisps. My evening meal was always home-made but portions too big and too much butter cream.

In the past 4 weeks we've got through 1 small tub of bertolli. Before we were getting through a standard tub of lurpak a week Blush.

madwomanintheattic · 03/11/2010 14:53

me. hoping to do it mostly through exercise though, as currently utterly static lard-bucket. working ft at the mo and have 3 dcs with taxi requirements

can anyone lend me a cup of time?

will seriously consider getting up 45 mins early to fit a 30 min exercise routine into day.
