I know it's not the first of the month, but I'm only a day late :) I seriously need to kick start my body bootcamp before Christmas - just returned a pair of jeans for a bigger size, only to find that the BIGGER ONES DON'T FIT!!

Enough is enough! I'm sticking to 1300 cals a day and walking 30mins daily. Postnatal SPD pretty much limits me to that, when it comes to exercise. I've been feeling really fed up with the pelvic pain too, so I need to do something about getting the old me back :)

Nothing complicated, just good, simple food, and straightforward moving/walking a bit more. Anyone up for it? We can weigh in on Sundays and share what we lost (rather than our actual weight lol) to cheer each other on?

Six weeks till Christmas!! Can I lose 10lb???

Today, I have had yoguart and fruit for breakfast, hummous with veg sticks for lunch and planning a low(ish) fat kedgeree for dinner. Also ran about 3k. So not too bad, How are you all doing ?

ninaandbean · 03/11/2010 17:50

well I bit the bullet and managed to walk to town for the first time with the buggy (DS is 14 weeks) and despite meeting another mummy, which usually = cake o'clock, we missioned about for about 3 hours which I think equated to about 3miles (at least) and I only had a panini for lunch. I'm making homemade cauliflower and egg bake for dinner, I had plain cereal for brekkie. And no snacks!! The snacks are what have been killing me. I intend to have six days a week being super good, then sundays I can enjoy my normal roast lunch etc without worrying, as I don't do well with feeling totally deprived lol. Well done everyone who's joined so far - we need a cheerleeder smiley!

Hi Bunny - bread is definitely something I need to eat less of. Think I will try to cut back as much as possible for now and maybe just limit it to breakfast at the weekend.

On the whole, my meals are pretty healthy, I just need to reduce portions a little, but my main problem is sugary snacks - biscuits and sweets. I find that once I start, I can't stop, so am trying cutting them out altogether at least for now.

I am doing no exercise at all at the moment, so am going to aim for twice a week at the gym to start with and then try to increase it.

Not a bad day today:
Breakfast - fruit salad and yoghurt
Lunch - Salad with 2 small piece wheaten bread
Dinner - Chicken stir fry with rice noodles

I've also made an effort to drink water today, which previously I wasn't doing. I really need to just get into good habits and then aim to keep them up. Hoping to get lots of motivation from keeping up with this thread!

iamamug · 03/11/2010 20:50

Am going to join you girls if you don't mind. Have been flirting with Idiot Proof Diet for months - lost 10lb earlier this year - put it back on when reintroduced carbs.
Just need to be sensible - am serial dieter so jut need to get on with it. Need to lose 2stone - will be happy with 1.5 - 10lb by CHristmas it is!
Off to Thailand in Feb so need to get in shape !

Menagerie · 03/11/2010 23:30

Bunny - we get through a normal tub of Lurpak every week. Had no idea that was too much. Also I always think I've had five a day because I used to be such a veg fiend. Just looked back on last week and it's more like three a day with lots of crisps and biscuits and chocs. Has to stop.

Had humous pita and salad for lunch with an apple, and pasta with homemade veg sauce for tea. And far too many Halloween sweets. :(

Will start off healthily in the morning. The water tip is good. I always forget to drink enough.

BunnyLebowski · 04/11/2010 09:07

Hi Menagerie - How many in your house though? There's only me, DP and DD (who's only 2 and doesn't get through v much butter!) so between 2 people it's a lot I think. Most of it was eaten by me along with a gross quantity of Tiger Bread Blush.

littledolly That's really good food for yesterday. Re: the sugary snacks I haven't had a single biscuit/chocolate bar/sweet in almost a month and the craving has completely gone from my system. If you give them a miss for a week you might see the same effect?

I was at the gym at 7am this morning. Did 3k on the rowing machine, ran full on for 20 mins on the treadmill, did 10 mins on the cross-trainer and then some serious ab crunches. Feeling good! Now just got to make sure I don't sabotage my good work by scoffing toast Grin.

MABS · 04/11/2010 10:13

well done bunny! too much wine last nt for me :(

Hi Seven Grin

How did you get on today? Did you manage to dodge the biscuits?

Today I've had

Breakfast - 2 slices of burgen bread toasted with tiny smear of bertolli

Snack - a bowl of my homemade veg soup

Lunch - 2 egg omelette with chives

Dinner - will be homemade lean lamb curry with a Weightwatchers pitta.

I've managed to avoid bad snacks but DP is out tonight and once DD is in bed I'm so tempted to watch a movie and have a glass of vino and a bag of seabrooks. Someone come and shout at me please!!!

hello lovely ladies!! Well done Bunny, Seven, Imamug... everyone actually :) Two days down and I realise this challenge is actually going to be really much harder than I thought! I didn't think I ate a huge amount of rubbish but when it comes to not grazing, wow - I miss it. So today: two pieces of toast with a small scraping of nutella (I know, I know, but I can't go cold turkey on chocolate completely!!) then Yo Sushi for lunch - only three dishes, so I don't feel too bad about eating out. Dinner tonight is gallo pinto (rice with beans) with a poached egg and slice of bacon. I've never been able to do low carb diets, I always feel like I'm going to die of hunger - any advice on filling food that actually stops you from reaching for the biscuit tin, but is low in carbs?? Help needed! I'm a rice/bread/spuds/cereal fiend!!

Still, no proper snacks, so there is a small achievement. AND I walked for at least 2 hours today, with the buggy. That's got to count for some calories, right?

*waves to all :)

GAH - DH totally doesn't get it! Just presented me with a hot mince pie and ice cream. Sweet, but not helpful!!

Veg mission it is. I already bought porrige and oatcakes so i'm all set - thanks for the advice Seven...

If you're trying to cut down the carbs and hunger pangs I swear by an omelete for breakfast - or anything with eggs. I never have mid morning cravings and can have light lunch and then sensible dinner.
I have bee doing this for a while and no probs with the digestion!
Good luck all - x

dillyboo · 04/11/2010 22:38

Hi, can I join you all?

Currently 12st and desperate to get to 11 st 3 before christmas, DS is now nearly 9 months old and I'm still heavier than I was when I got pg!

FreudianSlimmery · 05/11/2010 10:20

Hello all how is everyone?

Not too good here, still fighting off tonsillitis which has sent my appetite into overdrive and forced me to sit on the sofa all day

Still, am getting better so by Monday I hope to be back on track. Lots more walking, I prefer it now it's not so hot. Will be ordering an asda delivery today so must get lots of extra fruit and veg!

littledolly · 05/11/2010 10:35

Hi all
I'm not doing too badly, but then it's still a weekday! Had a good day yesterday and managed to resist the warm chocolate chip shortbread at my afternoon meeting! Am still eating well, drinking more water, and (a huge achievement for me) have now not had anything sweet since Tuesday.

Went to the gym this morning before work, and feel great for it. Unfortunately due to creche drop offs can only manage to go on Friday mornings, but hope to squeeze in one lunchtime and one evening session elsewhere in the week.

Have had Bran Flakes and banana for breakfast and have a small box of sushi and a yoghurt with me for lunch. Have a pizza in the fridge planned for tonight, but an hoping to just have one slice, and bulk my plate up with plenty of salad and possibly a few home made wedges (just potatoes roasted in Fry Light).

Wishing you all Good Luck for a slimming weekend!Grin

ninaandbean · 05/11/2010 14:33

well done Dolly for nothing sweet since Tues! i'm having a better day today, had four Nairn oatcakes with peanut butter for breakfast, am having covent garden soup for lunch. Apart from one small misdemeanour (5 jelly babies) i'm on track for today. Dinner is leftover cauliflower egg bake, with red cabbage to bulk it out. And I had a word with DH - no more mince pies until Sunday, when I have my 'treat' day. MUST be careful not to binge on crap then!!

Slimmery - hope you feel much better soon :) I had my tonsils out at 16 after getting recurrant tonsilitis, you have my sympathies! I think *violins are appropriat lol x

one day til my first weigh in - I will be super good today! how's everyone feeling? weekends are the hardest time to be good aren't they?

OP posts:
littledolly · 07/11/2010 08:50

I'm not doing too badly for the weekend - not perfect but definitely nowhere near as bad as I would normally be!

Was all geared up for a takeaway for tea last night but ended up making a curry myself (a SW one that we really love), and even though I had naan bread and a small glass of wine with it, the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been.

I've still not had anything sweet since Tuesday, and have definitely lost the craving for it. I know that if I break on this one, I'll be back to square one though, so determined not to give in.

I weighed myself on Thursday morning, so going to stick with that as my weigh day, but good luck to anyone weighing today!

ninaandbean · 07/11/2010 18:30

Well done dolly! cooking from fresh is always sooooooo much better. 10 points for effort.

as for me, I lost 1 pound!!

it's not exactly a huge starting loss, but YAY!!

how's it going mumsnetters? still on the wagon?

OP posts:
littledolly · 07/11/2010 21:17

Nina, 1lb off is great - any loss is a good loss in my book!

We ended up going out for lunch today, but I had a roast chicken dinner, rather than any of the pizzas, burgers, etc on the menu. Had french toast (wholegrain bread, no butter) with cinnamon to satisfy my sweet cravings for tea. Also spent over an hour this afternoon sweeping leaves in our garden, so better than lying in front of the TV as a normal Sunday.

Haven't been 100% this weekend, but still not nearly as bad as I could have been. Have spotted a few nice dresses I would like for Christmas, so using that as incentive.

Good luck to everyone for the start of the new working week!

bettiboo · 07/11/2010 21:30

I'm inspired. I'll make a start tomorrow. I could use losing around 2 stone but will stick to being realistic and will be happy with at least a stone. Wish me luck!

whyme2 · 08/11/2010 16:20

Oooh Blush despite my efforts I haven't lost anything. But I do feel quite positive about the coming week and doing more exercise with Jillian as well as walking to work.

hope everyone else has done better!
