Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

Managed to get through the weekend without too mauch damage :) At the rugby club family night, I resisited most of the temptation (there were lots of sweets floating around) and just had one treat sized Crunchie that was forced on me, a few Cadubry's caramel Nibbles (name?) 'cos the bag was left open in front of me and only a few of the crisps (honest!)that were on every table. Drank Diet Coke/Irn Bru all night.

The following day at the rugby, I had 8 Wine Gums, two sqaures of South African special chocolate and that was it as far as treats go. It was a great score :): dh was reading some articles afterwards about the impact of the weekend's rugby games on the various teams' world rankings and the one permutation that was not even considered was that Scotland might win GrinGrin Not a pretty game though.

My aunt (who I'd not seen since May) asked me last night if I'd lost weight - and my SIL also asked. It wasn't just the flattering dress though (an old faithful Laura Ashley merino wool charcoal grey knitted dress that I love) - 'cos my aunt said she had noticed the day before (when I'd been wearing jeans with thick long johns on plus loads of layers up top to cope with Murrayfield cold). :):)

Glad you had a good weekend Blondes - I'm sure you'll have managed to sts by the end of the week.

Smalline: you made me :) and Blush at your comments - and wonder just what it was I had said! My AF has just arrived after a c.2 month gap. So the fact that I have stayed in the "zone" even when pre-menstrual (something I never used to suffer from, but latterly did seem to get major attacks of the munchies just before AF arrived) makes me very pleased. IMHO Lidl Jaffa cakes are btter than the "orginal" jaffa cakes - thicker/better chocolate :)

GT: well done on resisting the munchies. I haven't sarted getting properly orgaansied for Christmas yet either - although I am in the middle of making two Christmas cakes (one for us and one for my dad, although we have to call it a birthday cake)

Bebe: the dolls house sounds lovely - I'm sure your dd will love it. :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2010 21:50

Thanks piste :)

3 snotty tired grumpy children is not good

Thank god tomorrow is hump day :)

bebejones · 23/11/2010 09:05

Someone slap me! Ate too much cake yesterday! Blush

Blondes - hope the kiddwinks are better soon :(

Pretty - I think you were very restrained, considering!

Dolls' house coming on, just need to varnish it & put it together! Hope it's going to look ok!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/11/2010 14:19

bebe, we need to see pics :)

had scampi and salad for lunch

think hubbys doing chicken for tea

bebejones · 23/11/2010 14:48

I shall post a pic when it's done!

I was bad & had a piece of toast with marmite & crunchy peanut butter! Blush Was super yummy!

Making chilli beef enchiladas for dinner, but with wholemeal tortillas. Shall only have 1.5 coz I will share with DD!

Have been doing ten tonne of housework today so hopefully will have burnt off the bad stuff! Hmm

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/11/2010 16:17

Slaps Bebe really hard. Well, you did ask!!

Pretty- it was a good rugby score for the Scots wasn't it?! Let's hope England manage to win too!

DD went off to school with Hectates carrot and Ginger soup in a flask for lunch. It must be cold weather for her to want soup!

I saw some camisole style thermal vest tops that I'm thinking of getting. I'm so cooooooollllllllllllddddddddddd! I had to buy DS some long and short sleeve thermal vests cos he was freezing. They say it will snow here on Saturday. Think of DD in her little rowing boat in the snow!

OP posts:
prettybird · 23/11/2010 17:02

It was wasn't it :) It was also good to be there with my dad who, despite his South African accent (which he apparently still has - can't hear it myself - even after over 40 years in Scotland) supports Scotland and my aunt, who was seeing the Springboks play live for the first time. She was a wee bit quiet afterwards Wink

Ds was pleased that his "jinx" at Murrayfield had been broken - he's never seen them win there (saw them draw against England though Grin).

The camisole thermals sound nice - you can of course justify them on the basis that they will also be useful when you go skiing Wink

Bebe: I read something somewhere that said that people who started the day with curnchy peanut butter on wholemeal toast ate less over the day than the "control" group: the portein in the peanut butter kept them feeling fuller :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/11/2010 17:35

What I loved was the crowd counting the clock down so they could kick to touch! All very satisfying!

Have only ever been passed murrayfield on the train but been to Twickers HQ on many occasions!

OP posts:
prettybird · 23/11/2010 17:59

Yup - that was good :) it's the first time I've been there when that happens - it's only recently that they've synchronised the stadium clock with the referee's watch (previously it just showed the time).

From about 76 minutes onwards, we were all watching the clock anxiously as we were still vulnerable to a try. Dh, who was listening to the radio commentary as well heard the captain tell the team, just after they'd managed to get away from the Springbok's line "to slow everything down".

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/11/2010 18:18

ive also heard that about pnb

bebejones · 23/11/2010 19:51

I shall use that as an excuse to eat it by the spoonful! Wink

I try to stay out of the house these days when the rugby is on (if England are playing), otherwise DH & I tend to fall out! Hmm DH is seriously obsessed, he watches everything, even teams he isn't interested in!

GettinTrimmer · 24/11/2010 09:29

Morning all Smile I had to get the munchies under control again last night. Had 4 pretzels and left over salad from teatime, they attacked at about 9.30.

Not long since I've had breakfast but I've got them again so I'm having a low fat yogurt.

I've never tried marmite and crunchy peanut butter before.

I am not getting on that well with the new propoints diet so this will probably be the last week I go Sad but at least it's got me started.

prettybird · 24/11/2010 11:25

Well done Trimmer for avoiding the munchies :) Hope you have continued to resist Wink

I've just completed Day 7 of Level 2 of the Shred, 2nd time around (although I only did 7 days on Level 1). Doing it with 2kg weights and just about surviving :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2010 11:45

trimmer, why arent you getting on with new wwpp?

tho i think confusing, nearly everything has gone up in points, yet you are allowed more p a day and a bonus of just under 50 a week (so almost 2 days worth)

i shall plod along on old ww, if im good it works lol

what makes me laugh, just like washing powder ads etc, is that a few months ago ww thought their way was the best way and now the old way is crap

the powder that used to get your clothes clean now doesnt Hmm

prettybird · 24/11/2010 12:01

Are they actually saying that the "old" way doesn't work - or just that the "new" version might be easier?

At the end of the day, as my cynical medic dad says, the equation is simple: eat fewer calories than your body uses and you will lose weight.

..... the equation might be simple but achieving it is not! Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2010 12:16

they say the new way is better

but the old way worked

so i dont understand that

but im blonde Grin

GettinTrimmer · 24/11/2010 12:28

Yesterday I had 37 propoints....

1 slice rye bread (5 points!)
2 large eggs boiled (6)

Bowl of covent garden tomato and basil soup (3)
1/2 jacket potato 100g(2)
feta cheese (3)
free salad
mayo low fat (2)

1/2 pint of semi skimmed milk (4)

pasta (3)
free veg spray oil (1)
cheese (5)
dd's left over fishfingers Blush (3)

I'm brunette Blondes, but can't add up that well, but I make it 37 propoints which is way over bloody 29 propoints Angry

Oh yes and had fruit inbetween.

pretty thank you for congrats on resisting munchies, it really does help me carry on!

I am in the zone again thank goodness a least ww got me back into it. I have the diet now so I will be able to follow it on my own and stop going to meetings which are £5.99 now.

GettinTrimmer · 24/11/2010 12:31

Oh yes pretty, these dads do know what they are on about, mine is a retired science teacher, he had to lose weight to control diabetes and say he just cut out as much fat as possible also sugar.

Old ww was plain old calorie counting made easier with points. I like foodfocus I think it's time to go back.

GettinTrimmer · 24/11/2010 12:33

Unless of course I've misundertood the complicated wheel thingy they gave me where you have to take into account protein/carbs/fat/fibre and counted too many points, but I'm not buying an effing calculator which is lots of pennies, xmas coming up and dh' birthday on saturday.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/11/2010 14:44

Blondes..... The only reason WW have introduced a new system is for commercial gain. They are a profit making business and they need to change it enough to relaunch and sell loads of new merchandise. There was nothing wrong with the old way!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2010 16:35

'hi fives piste'

bebejones · 24/11/2010 19:59

Not been soooo bad, but feel very very full!

b - OJ (then rushed out door to toddler group, very late & had tiny piece of carrot cake at said group to tide me over Blush)
l - 1 slice toast with marmite & peanut butter & small handful of grapes
d - hm chicken & mushroom pie with lf chips & peas, followed by Blush the MN chocolate & chestnut cake (r.o.t.w. from a few weeks back) with some cream Blush (Single cream...lower fat Hmm)

Have been v busy today & hardly sat down, so not that bad! Is it?! Ok so, it's a little naughty! Must eat more fruit!

Waves to all, must go sit with my DH, hardly see him he's so busy these days! :(

prettybird · 24/11/2010 20:14

Congratulate yourslef on feeling full :) Shows that you're getting used to eating not so much - sso you managed to have some small treats and still feel satisfied. :)

I've made some broad bean and bacon soup, using some pheasant stock and some broad beans that were in the freezer (still trying to run the freezer contents down).

Haven't had it yet though 'cos ds and dh are still pout at rugby training. Made some granary bread to go with it.

Calorie count for the day should end up about 1300 with the proportion weighted in favour of protein, so I'm pleased about that. Plus I've done the Shred, cycled ds to and from school (albeit only short cycle rides) and doen an hour's gardeing :)
