Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

There you go

Come on! you can do it! You know you can, I know you can, so there!

Weighed in today and I've lost a stone in total. Now 14st 1lb. Very pleased! 2 more to go.
I also did a 45 minute toning class and am knackered.

Niecie · 19/01/2011 18:05

Thanks Solo

Well done on the weight loss and the toning class too. I reckon you are going to be at target in 6 mths and will have a great summer. Smile

frozenfestiveflo · 19/01/2011 19:21

Oh gosh sounds like everyone is doing good - even pumping is exercise surely?

I think I am being really good but the midweek weigh says otherwise!

solo · 19/01/2011 23:31

Come on ladies! re adjust your thinking. You are going to do this! you are...Do you think that your portion sizes are Ok? that's basically all I've done ~ eat less and I know that that is the biggest problem for most people.
I'm holding your hands, just like you hold mine. Be positive :)

giraffesCantDirtyDance · 20/01/2011 06:15

solo · 22/01/2011 13:41

:( giraffes. My sil has very bad asthma and is often attached to her neb at home or in hospital...I'm so sorry that you've developed this too...

Niecie · 24/01/2011 09:51

Well done losers! Sorry you haven't been well Giraffes. I hope you feel better now.

solo · 24/01/2011 11:01

Aw! don't do that Niecie, just start over today. I've had a crap weekend too. Also my throat is hellishly sore, though last night, I couldn't even swallow my saliva and put an ice pack on my neck; it did help some.

Niecie · 24/01/2011 11:23

Aww Solo. That isn't nice but good idea with the ice pack. Try some ice pops for the inside too.

I was going to whinge about having a cough but since it is just a bit annoying rather than painful, I won't whinge now. Rather than a cough than a sore throat.

On the upside for you, eating must be difficult. Sadly, my appetite remains in tact. Smile

solo · 24/01/2011 11:28

Oh if only I could just not eat...but then again, I'd probably gain weight because I'd be hungry. Can't win really.
I did manage breakfast and actually, I'm starving right now and resisting the lemon sponges that I bought for Ds's lunches...I've already had 3 since Friday Blush. Actually, I've had the premenstrual munchies, but not the bleed...this menopause thing is going to be rot isn't it?

Niecie · 24/01/2011 12:47

I suspect it is. Sad

Things aren't what they used to be here either. I was as regular as clockwork until the last 6 mths. Now I have a bigger gap between them but they drag on longer. I should be thankful that they aren't heavy but it does spell the beginning of the end I think.

Unfortunately the PMT munchies still seem to start at the same time and because AF doesn't come, they last for longer too! Angry

Sigh.

No hot flushes here yet but do you reckon they might be a good way of burning calories? Is this an unforeseen upside? I can't imagine producing so much heat will not burn calories?!

Have some sensible soup which will slide down and hope that it takes the cake craving away. But if that doesn't work I am sure that a medicinal cake won't be too bad. They are soft and easy to eat and if they make you feel better too then one won't be too awful.

solo · 24/01/2011 13:13

Hehehe! like your thinking re the hot flush heat, though I suspect that is just wishful thinking :(
My hot flushes have started, but I've not had any for a few days. We women don't half go through it in life don't we? just proves that God is a man and not a woman :)

frozenfestiveflo · 24/01/2011 17:41

Just marking my place as dropped of the end again.

frozenfestiveflo · 25/01/2011 12:19

Sorry not been around much feeling a little detached (from myself probably) Not doing to badly I dont think
How is everyone else and how are you all feeling?

frozenfestiveflo · 25/01/2011 12:19

although that said last night I could have eaten a scabby cat!

solo · 25/01/2011 12:58

Me too flo!I seem to be wobbling at the edge of the wagon atm :( jeans are still falling down though which is good!

You'll be Ok flo, you've just got to get back into 'the zone'. :) be kind to yourself.

Niecie · 25/01/2011 20:42

I had a button pop off my trousers yesterday. Blush

I don't think I have put on that much weight but it made me think!!

I don't know why I am so shocked but I was reading something about body shape in the Rosemary Conley magazine and, after years of thinking I am an ordinary pear shape, I think I might really be an hour glass. Shock

I don't have the pear's narrow shoulders so I haven't ever thought I was typical but most of my weight on my hips and thighs and difficult to shift. But that has all changed because I have now read if your arms get fat (tick that box Blush) you are actually an hourglass if you hve that and the fat butt/thigh thing too!

Of course the down side is that the pear finds it hardest to lose weight so bang goes that excuse.

So what is everybody else? Apple, pear or hourglass? Do you think it makes a difference to losing weight!

solo · 25/01/2011 22:54

Well, I had a pear shape until 2 years ago, but with a tiny waist and big but shapely bum Hmm but since I have gained the weight, I have got bigger shoulders and am most definitely an hourglass :) every time I get weighed and my waist measurement taken, the nurse comments on my 'tiny' waist which is miles bigger than it ever was...
