How was everyone's weekend?

Titsalina - how was the Murder Mystery?
and how are your wisdom teeth? Have you got an appointment yet? I always knew I'd have to have mine out (not enough room), they wanted to take them all out when they were 'up' but the sodding things were like piano keys up and down so in the end 2 were up and 2 were down when they took them out! It was agony though when they were going up and down and I have soooo much sympathy with teething babies!!

ChippingIn · 06/09/2010 14:13

About the time we started this thread (I thought it was on this thread, but it's not) someone (one of you I thought) described how you make coffee and it's as good as a cafe latte.... something to do with putting the coffee in the bottom of the cup and microwaving it I think???

Was it one of you (please let it be!!) if not, any ideas...... ta x

ChippingIn · 06/09/2010 14:16

Blimey - Advanced Search found it for me :)

It's here....

My skinny Latte recipe:^

^Measure your low fat milk into a mug.
Pour milk into microwavable jug.
Heat milk in microwave for 2 mins.
Put 2 teaspoons instant coffee into mug.
Pour in hot milk - Do not stir
Put mug back into the microwave for a further minute.
Your 'latte' will be as good as any coffee house version

Have this anytime you feel hungry between meals. The protein in the milk will kick in and you won't be craving the rubbish.^

Off to give it a go - will report back!! :)

SgtAngua · 06/09/2010 22:07

How was your latte Chippy?

Sorry I've been a bit quiet but the baby managed to break the mouse so no MN for me! Do you think he was trying to tell me something?

'Tis my birthday today so I've had choccy cake at work & generally been vv bad.Grin

Tomorrow I start to be a little more serious about giving away a bit of my excess weight as there is nothing to stop me now.

( Enjoyed the cake thoughWink).

SgtAngua · 06/09/2010 22:14

Titsalina- I would love the recipe for your tomato soup, we have so many in the garden & soup is great to take as a packed lunch.

ChippingIn · 06/09/2010 23:31

Happy Birthday

(Sorry, I thought it was tomorrow?!)

Are you doing anything else to celebrate?

I didn't end up making the coffee, I got busy & hot so had water. I have been quite good today :) Will let you know when I try it though!

Are you on a PC then? I couldn't go back to a PC - I looooove my laptop!

I planted my tomatoes quite late so I haven't had many at all, they are now lovely big plants but I don't know if they will do much now it's a bit cooler...? There is something attacking the leaves on my pepper plants :( It looks like caterpillar muching but I can't see anything?? I also think it's a bit late for them to do anything much, but they aren't hurting so they can stay there....

SgtAngua · 07/09/2010 00:28

Thanks Chippy Smile

I had an "official" birthday on Sunday, breakfast in bed then went out for a lovely meal with DH & the DSs. Nice friendly Italian place, didn't bat an eyelid at BLW DS3 covered in pastaGrin, about a million calories were consumed, don't care 'twas worth it!

PC in bedroom, I don't get a look in on the laptop, the boys & DH use it all the time. Yes the pc is a bit of a PITA.

If your toms don't ripen I have a great recipe for spicy green tomato chutney. We have had so many that we are doing "sun" dried toms in a very low oven they are yum.

ChippingIn · 07/09/2010 00:39

Your 'official' birthday sounds great! The restaurant sounds fab, being Italian it probably had a hard floor - so not so bad with BLW! Little buggers make a right mess don't they!! Grin

Maybe you should ask Santa for a lovely, pink, girlie laptop for Christmas!!

Tomatoes - I was given the plants reasonably late in the season in some tiny, tiny pots - I was going to grow them in pots, but needed to buy them, was after something specific so faffed around for ages before putting them in bigger pots - they were doing 'ok' in the smaller pots, but since putting them in the bigger pots they've really flourished and have lots of lush greenery, but only a few flowers... so we'll have to see how they go.

SgtAngua · 07/09/2010 00:44

DH very secure in his masculinity & would nick my pink laptop in a heartbeat!

ChippingIn · 07/09/2010 00:47

OK - buy one each for Christmas :) PC in the bedroom just isn't good enough Grin

SgtAngua · 07/09/2010 00:48

Might be a bit late for tomatoes if they're just flowering now.Sad

Your peppers should be ok though, the caterpillars only seem to eat the leaves.

SgtAngua · 07/09/2010 00:50

I agree, the pc is getting old & slow, time to replace it I think.

ChippingIn · 07/09/2010 01:08

Yeah, I don't think the toms stand too much chance but hey ho, not much I can do about it and they aren't hurting - they look quite nice actually :)

The peppers are still only small so not sure really...I can't see a single caterpillar?!

I have always really hated mac's, but when I was in a shop in February there was a sales bloke in there who loved them (young lad) and he was showing me all the features and stuff - really, really enthusiastic, I must have been there over and hour and a half and he knew I wouldn't be buying one there and then and wasn't thinking about replacing my laptop - it was FAB :) I even got to meet his Dad who brought his lunch in for him!! LOL Anyway, seriously considering a mac notebook next time.

SgtAngua · 07/09/2010 22:01

Well, as I said I was going to start to be good today I weighed myself this morning & was a bit Shock! Any hoo, onwards & upwards, or should that be downwards?

Day off today so I met a friend for lunch, which was great, & have been quite good all day.Smile

However the wheels have fallen off a bit this evening 'cos I made flapjacks for lunchboxes & ate one.Blush In my defence they're vv healthy, packed with seeds & cranberries & made with the honey from our bees! ( I suspect not very low cal though ).

< am secretly Barbara Good >

SgtAngua · 07/09/2010 22:04

Have just shown how really really old I am! Blush

KickArseQueen · 07/09/2010 22:14

Hello! Can I join in? I seem to have added a bit of padding to my derriere recently and my diet started back up this morning :( I'm currently nibbling on frozen grapes. I'm 10 stone 10 and I'm aiming at 9 and a half.

Chippingin, If your toms come really late there is a trick to make them ripen :), I take it this was the thread you were aiming me at??? Grin

SgtAngua · 07/09/2010 22:18

Hi KickArse Smile

Frozen grapes sound nice, must give that a go, I need something to replace the flapjacks with! Grin

ChippingIn · 08/09/2010 14:10

StAngua S'okay mate, I knew who you meant - loved loved loved the programme :)

KitKat See.... I knew you'd work out where I meant Grin The Toms might need your trick if it stays this bloody cold! I wish I only had a little over a stone to 'give away' :( I have several of the buggers :(

Frozen Grapes are good.

SgtAngua · 08/09/2010 22:22

Anyone around this evening?

KickArseQueen · 08/09/2010 22:39

Hiya, Just Me and my grapes I guess!

Hi Chippingin, trouble is that It's the last bit that seems to stick like cornflakes, I've come down from 15 and a half stone, but I absolutley cannot break the 10 stone mark. :( If I could log onto WLR it would be easier but I'm seriously skint atm so can't justify it. Oh well being skint also means I can't justify buying wine or chocolate either Grin that might help!

SgtAngua · 08/09/2010 23:14

Hi KickArse.

Just checked out your profile...green tinkle..hehehe!

Losing 5 stones is rather impressive Smile, your right it's always the last bit that's a bugger to shift!

Have you tried a week with no dairy & hardly any carbs, just loads of fruit, veg & lean meat? It might give you a kick start to get that last stubborn bit off.

(says the woman who can't give up cake)Blush

SgtAngua · 08/09/2010 23:16

you're obviously, not your.

ChippingIn · 08/09/2010 23:16

SgtAngua sorry I missed you earlier.

KAQ - LOL sounds like CAC - Prefer KKQ Grin

What's WLR - is that the thing you gave me the link to before you went on holiday? If so, you know there are a lot of free ones don't you?... No wine??? You cannot be that skint.... surely? If you are, you are going to have to sell a child or something Grin

SgtAngua · 08/09/2010 23:26

Hi Chippy,

There is no excuse for no wine, apples & elderberries abound, go picking & make wine! (not a short term solution obviouslyGrin)

MilkNoSugarPlease · 08/09/2010 23:26
