Where do I go next? Maintenance upcoming

I’m a few weeks away from reaching 25 BMI, have got 7 weeks worth of MJ in the fridge. Who are the best providers likely to take me on for maintenance please? I’m a bit concerned about being rejected when I get to the healthy weight range but I’m not with any provider steadily so looking to move to one long term

No pharmacy is going to reject you with a BMI around 25 and a history of prescriptions. You'd need a much lower BMI, maybe 22 or lower, before places would start to refuse. So, pretty much any pharmacy that does a good deal or consistently low prices would do.

The Monj website has a list of "maintenance friendly" pharmacies which are ones where they have some statement about their maintenance policy available, I think. (Click on the Maintenance button on the monj list to filter).

I’m 1lb away from maintenance and my BMI is 23.5. Swift Doctor just took me on for maintenance, even though I have 3 x 2.5mg pens in the fridge left! I told them that and they were fine with it.

I'm 2lbs away and have a BMI of 23 so maintenance providers won't cut you off at 25.

I'd look at monj and change to a provider that supports maintenance if you're not at one already.

Katalica · 11/09/2026 18:13

Remember to keep photos of your pens with the use by dates on them as you might need to provide some form of evidence that you’re a long term user.

Thanks everyone, I have picked it up incorrectly about not being able to move easily when you get below 25 BMI. I will look at monj and thanks for the tip about taking pictures, it wouldn't have crossed my mind to do this.

Others will know the providers better than me. But the most useful thing in your post is the seven weeks in the fridge.
Whether you find a maintenance provider or not, what decides how the next year goes is what's already in place when the dose comes down. Building it now, while appetite is still quiet, is far easier than building it afterwards when it isn't.
Concretely: protein at breakfast every day, and two short strength sessions a week, in the diary as appointments rather than intentions. Both are much harder to start once hunger is back, and both are what stop your body reading the weight loss as a shortage and turning appetite up to fix it.
Worth doing either way, it's the part that doesn't depend on anyone saying yes to you.

I need them to say yes to me as I fully intend to stay on this drug for the long term. I don’t really know what you mean about the 7 weeks in my fridge though? It sounds like you might be trying to explain that I need to eat properly? I have been on this for almost 2 years and have never eaten better, there’s very little I can do in terms of diet adjustments. My last stone or so is coming slowly and I am aiming to stay on 5mg for maintenance as I already know that works. I have maintained on and off since Christmas. Sorry if I read you wrong. I wasn’t too sure if that’s what you were trying to say. I really just wanted reassurance that I’m going to be able to move to a provider even when I’m below 25 BMI, I thought that part was hard but posted have said it’s fine.

@jeffsaward the previous poster is posting similar stuff on other threads and I am not convinced they are a real person or interested in a discussion. There are often AI bots who post these kinds of posts on threads in this section, goodness knows why!

Thank you, I didn’t realise, I have seen them pointed out before though - I wonder what the point is too!

Hmm! I think I’ve discovered why she’s posting lots of nonsense on these threads…

At a certain point it might be hard to move around regularly. At that point can look for a maintenance supplier. I use Swift doctor. I haven’t moved since my BMI got to 23.

Redlightbulb · 14/09/2026 15:37

The vast majority of providers will take you for maintenance at your current dose above BMI 22 as long as you have a prescription dated 6 weeks ago (some even stretch to 8 weeks). So I wouldn't worry about not being accepted as long as you meet that 6 weeks criteria.
