Thinking of delaying my next injection, as today is day 6 since my last jab and I've struggled to eat today, despite doing a long hike yesterday (usually I'm ravenous the day after intense exercise) I've done two jabs at 0.5 wegovy and I'm surprised my supression is this strong given that I had really plateaued at 0.25.

@Positivepositron I started at BMI 26 and. I've lost 2-3kg a month, apart from a couple of weeks when I plateaued. I'm short so my starting weight was 64kg, so though it doesn't sound a lot I think its a sensible rate for my size - I've lost nearly 10% of my bodyweight in just under three months. I don't have any experience of the pills though I've heard they taste awful!!

Can I just ask for people who started at BMI 25-26 how quickly did you lose weight and what type were you using?
Wondering how longish it tends to take to lose and which type is best.
Also anyone who is on the tablets are they small and easy to swallow?
Are they chalky or shiny?

I started at BMI 25.7 mid April. I’m at maintenance now at BMI 22.5. I’ve lost 7.5kg and 11% of my body weight.

I lost fairly steadily with a couple of weeks plateau in the middle. The first 6-8 weeks felt pretty effortless. After that, I needed to put more thought into making sure I was in a deficit.

All the losing on 0.25 Wegovy jabs. Exploring a half dose of that for maintenance currently.

StylesSluttyShorts · 08/08/2026 18:59

I've literally started today on Wegovy 0.25 jabs, at BMI 25.8.
I'm 5 foot so every pound shows.
I'd like to lose a stone first, then see, and also give up vaping.

I'm going food shopping tomorrow, does anyone have any tips for what I should buy?
It's just me and I eat everything obviously!

AnotherPidgey · 08/08/2026 19:34

Partway through holiday and missed Thursday's dose. Appetite is still calmer than usual and I'm doing well at resisting DH/ DCs' fruits of the junk food aisle. It's nice not being too supressed too, but hopefully I should dodge the worst of holiday gains even if my apetite does pick up.

I've had 5 doses so far, so if it has reset my habits a bit, that will help with maintainence when I'm ready.

It's been nice to put my wetsuit on and not feel crushed in it!

I’m on week 2, I’m already only 2lbs from the goal I set myself! I could well be there in the next two weeks and then I’ve a decision as I’ve never wanted to be skinny and healthy bmi was only ever the end goal.
I have three holidays between now and Xmas and birthdays etc etc so do I stay on it as I’ve no doubt those events are going to be good for eating and drinking or stop?

I'm not sure why you'd stay on it when you don't want to lose any more weight?
The people who stay on for maintenance tend to be those who have long term issues with obesity and know that they have never really been able to maintain a healthy weight. If you only needed them for three weeks to get to your goal weight I can't imagine you fit into that category.

Jab 17 for me today - maintenance dose of 0.13 Wev.

I’ve had a bit of a foody few days with birthdays and meals out. I’m noticing I can definitely eat more on this v small dose! But as I’m trying to find a balance in maintenance, this is probably a good lesson.

How’s everyone else doing?

socks1107 · 09/08/2026 12:40

@Proteinpudding this is what I’m wandering, they allowed me to break a six month plateau albeit quicker than I expected and on a low dose. I’m happy with a bmi at 24-24.9 as I’m also very active with exercise. I’m sitting in a size 10
so don’t feel I want to be much smaller for me. Guess I’ll need to talk to my provider and see what the best way forward is

Proteinpudding · 09/08/2026 13:07

@socks1107 if you were on a plateau, presumably you've been maintaining at a weight just above where you wanted to be for those six months? If so, your new maintenance at your goal weight would be very similar, so you'd have a good chance of doing it again. If I were in your shoes I'd try tracking to see what you're consuming now (eg what has made the difference) and then work out your new maintenance, so you can feel a bit more confident about not putting it back on.

For me, the jabs have helped me realise that despite being active, strength training etc, the calories I need to actually lose weight are lower than I ever thought they would be! But I think once I've lost it, my maintenance will be manageable with a bit of work.

From my research, it seems it’s normal to gain a few kg once you stop, even when watching what you eat etc. therefore I stopped trying to lose weight once I’d hit 2 kg below my target weight. So I could bounce back a bit (water weight, hormonal changes etc) without feeling like I needed to jump back on the WLI.

You’ve probably gone shopping already but I always focus on protein. And I don’t mean artificial protein junk.

Greek yogurt to have with some fruit and a little drizzle of honey.

Packets of cooked chicken to have with iceberg lettuce and a little drizzle of Ceasar dressing and Parmesan.

Thin steaks to have with green beans.

Tins of tuna to have with mayo, chopped spring onion on sourdough crackers.

Basically, my suppression is so high most of the time (but I’m on MJ and appear to be a super responder) that I avoid carbs like pasta, bread and cereals like the plague as if I eat them I can’t eat anything else. So the only thing that tends to go in my body is protein, fresh fruit and veg and a little fat.

And I have electrolyte/vitamin powders for my water. I make sure I drink at least 3 litres of water a day, one of those litres will have a powder in them.

I had a 2 week break over my holidays which was lovely. I put on a kg which I wanted to but also puffed up on my ankles and wrists which I didn’t want. I took a small 1mg dose, which is half my maximum, when I returned and it had a huge impact. My puffiness went immediately but I couldn’t eat for 3 days and lost the weight I’d put on plus I was very dizzy and shaky.

I’m going to leave it another 2 weeks and then try 0.5mg. If the same happens again then I’m just going to stop the WLI. Which won’t be the end of the world. I lost the 1-1.5st that I wanted at the start of this. It was never about losing the inflammation caused by my hypothyroidism. That was just a bonus. Maybe I need to quit whilst I’m ahead.

I’m really not hungry, which is the point I know 😂. I’m day 5 & had to force myself to eat today. I’m also a bit constipated despite drinking 3 litres of water a day. I’ll be interested to see my weigh in results on Wednesday.

I don’t quite agree with this. I’ve never had a BMI over 25. I’ve lost 20lb and plan to stay on it indefinitely. I’m not sure why staying on it indefinitely is any odder for those of us with lower starting BMIs than obese people. We don’t need to radically change our diets, our eating habits likely haven’t been too horrific if we’re only slightly above weight. I know how to lose weight, I’ve been losing and gaining the same stone for about 10 years now lol and I’m bored of it. I don’t need to change my mindset, i don’t need to radicalise my diet, I just want to switch off the temptation to snack which is what MJ does for me. So for that reason, I’m staying on it for as long as I can get away with!

I understand that, but the poster has been on them for two weeks and already lost enough on what is presumably a a starter dose that they're going to be at goal weight at week 3. If they lose weight rapidly on the first dose and are concerned about losing any more, then staying on them doesn't really make sense, the likelihood is they'll keep losing. It would be different if they'd got up to a higher dose to lose and had wiggle room to titrate down to something that helped them maintain.

Checking in again. I had my 5th jab this morning - Wegovy 0.25mg. I felt nausea quite soon after injecting and threw up about 2 hours later. It's the first time I've thrown up due to Wegovy. Has anyone else experienced worse side effects the longer they've taken it? Bit concerned as we're off on holiday on Friday.

Lost 1.1kg last week, so 4.7kg total in 4 weeks.

It builds up in your system, so yes symptoms can progressively intensify in the early days because it is compounding in your system. So if you imagine you injected 0.25mg today and it was added to whatever hasn’t yet left your system. You should be fine by Friday, but you might want to consider delaying or not injecting on holiday if you don’t want to risk any side effects away.
