Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

That’s great @bananamachinewater! And 6st is a fantastic achievement for your OH.

I haven’t eaten much (or well) since jabbing on Friday. After the week off it, I’ve been nauseous like a hangover and only fancied salty crisps and coke accordingly! Mid-week weigh in today shows almost another lb off though.

I’ve got some Form protein powder and Myota gut supplements on the way as I just can’t eat enough to hit anywhere near protein/fibre goals but I am very thirsty, so hopefully I’ll be able to manage it this way.

@Hystersister26 I will definitely be click counting to 3.75 when the time comes to step up to 5 gradually. I hope your side effects calm soon.

I'm not great with protein shakes (can't stomach the milky ones) but find the clear protein easier to have...they're definitely handy when you're on the go. I got it from myprotein the last time.
I also really like the Graham's protein yoghurt pouches (peach one is lovely). They're 25g in a serving which is a great boost for about 170cals.

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 28/07/2026 10:17

My pen still hasn't arrived though I was assured it would, they're giving me the absolute runaround.

Can't order from a new supplier as my ID is away getting my address changed as we've moved.

It's like the universe is dictating I am destined to be a short fat!

I could seriously cry.

HNAN36 · 28/07/2026 10:25

Thank you @ElviraZoffanyI think that’s what I am going to do.

@Hystersister26I have been similar on 3.75mg. Pleased I didn’t go straight to 5mg. On my 4th week on this dose and the effects are easing. I am going to stick with 3.75mg for a bit longer.

@bananamachinewaterwell done to you and DH they are impressive losses. I can’t stomach protein shakes, I don’t like the texture. I have been having Aldi protein yogurt. 1 pot will do 2 servings for me and I add protein granola and some fruit. I also buy protein bars from Aldi too for a quick snack and to increase protein occasionally.

Hystersister26 · 28/07/2026 10:51

Thanks for replying, I have had a rough night but no diarrhoea since 9am. Stomach still sore, gurgly and headache still there. Wondering if its a bug 😞 it has put me off doing next dose tbh

KittytheHare · 28/07/2026 16:58

Ugh, had one great month on 5mg, now into week 3 of second month and the infamous “noise” is well and truly back. I’m still losing but it’s taking immense will power and I miss the peace of mind I had previously. Going to move onto 7.5 in two weeks.
Sw 69.9kg. Current weight 57.3kg. So a good loss, but the amazing mindset I had a few weeks ago is not here currently. Hopefully when I move up it will kickstart something for me.

HelenDenver · 28/07/2026 17:24

That’s a great loss in the time! What’s your target weight?

HNAN36 · 28/07/2026 20:50

@Hystersister26I thought I had a bug the first time. It started about 24 hours after taking and lasted for a couple of days at the worse (sorry tmi). But stomach was churning for most the week. Then again the following week but the diarrhoea didn’t last as long. Now on the 4th week I only had one episode and the stomach churning eased off yesterday. I jab on a Friday. I think it’s just my body adjusting and if I need to increase I again I am going to do it in smaller steps rather than jumping 2.5mg each increase.

Well done @KittytheHareimpressive loss 🙌🏻

HelenDenver · 28/07/2026 17:24

That’s a great loss in the time! What’s your target weight?

Thank you! Target is 52kg

HelenDenver · 29/07/2026 10:53

Wow! My current fat-free body weight (i.e. bone + muscle) is 53kg according to my fancy scales Grin

I hope the 7.5mg helps.

bananamachinewater · 29/07/2026 11:26

Well I spoke too soon about having no side effects 😩took my 2.5mg last night and have felt weird since! I couldn't sleep at all! Google suggested trying a sugary drink so I did and that seemed to help but have a very gurgly upset stomach this morning and indigestion feeling along with being shattered in work from no sleep. Weird how this has started suddenly 9 weeks in.
Dr Google/AI also suggested trying moving my next jag to the morning on an empty stomach...I had it not long after dinner last night but it was a pretty late dinner so could be what has caused it.

HelenDenver · 29/07/2026 11:31

Oh no, sorry you are feeling poorly again @bananamachinewater

Openmouthinsertfood · 29/07/2026 12:57

Wow bananamachinewater congratulations to your husband! He must feel like a new man after shedding 6st. Well done him.
On the subject of protein powder/shakes. I never liked them before as I don't like milk and they usually tasted foul anyway. However, I have found this range: https://www.predatornutrition.com/protein-powder/per4m/per4m-whey-protein.html
You can mix it with water and it has flavours such as cookie dough, jammy biscuit. I bough Fluffy marshmallow and can say it's actually ok.
Ooh Seagullsandsausagerolls I can really hear your upset/frustration. I really hope your pen gets sorted soon.
Talking of bugs, spoke to a really useless dr yesterday that told me I probably have a bit of stomach flu. 🙄However, did a bit of AI Googling and found it's probably still withdrawl symptoms from coming off Olanzapine, including the rapid weight loss last week. It should peak in the next few days so hopefully by next week I should be feeling better.

Just checking in with this week's update. Another 2lb off for me this week, so I'm hoping to hit my 1 stone milestone next week!

Start date: 15 June 2026
Starting weight: 18st 7lb
Current weight: 17st 9lb
Loss so far: 12lb
Initial target weight: 12st 6lb

I'm heading to the gym tonight for the first time in months (after introducing home workouts over the past 6 weeks). Wish me luck!

Openmouthinsertfood · 29/07/2026 16:20

Hey Childfree, almost a stone in that time is really good going! Good luck to you hitting your target next week. And good luck at the gym! You'll have to come back and tell us how it goes.

JuniperRosy · 29/07/2026 19:31

Great losses everyone! I’ve been busy over the past few of weeks so haven’t had a chance to update you all, but all been going well, still averaging a 2lb/week loss. Took my 9th jab of 2.5mg yesterday

Starting weight: 15st 3.4
Current weight: 13st 13
Loss so far: 1st 5.4
Goal weight: 11st

I’m currently now at a BMI of 30.4 so my next mini goal is to get to an overweight BMI rather than obese, which I should hopefully reach in a few more pounds.

Openmouthinsertfood · 29/07/2026 19:59

Good going JuniperRosy I wish you well in meeting your goal. 😀

Chiffchaff7 · 31/07/2026 07:19

Good morning all ❤️ Week 6 completed on 2.5 and another 3lb off taking me to 13st 2lb and a total of 1st 10lb lost. I feel like I’m in a good routine, tracking my protein, keeping active, and 3L of water daily. Jab 7 this morning. Hope everyone is well and has a good day xx

HelenDenver · 31/07/2026 07:24

Well done @Chiffchaff7!

About to wake up DS1 and have a nice protein rich breakfast with him 🙂

HNAN36 · 31/07/2026 08:23

Some great losses everyone!

I have weighed in this morning and just over 1lb down. Was hoping for a 2lb loss but haven’t been exercising as much. A little bit out of routine with the kids being off. Need to get back on that.

I have taken my 5th dose at 3.75mg. I have had a successful twist of the pen and I can get another 3.75mg next week using the golden dose. This pen was much easier to force twist. have ordered another 5mg pen and will continue to do 3.75mg as the side effects are still quite intense for the first couple of days.

We are in London this weekend and heading to Legoland with the kids for a day too. Really need to make sure I stick at it and eat healthy.

SW 80.15kg / 12.8st
W8 72.40kg/11.5st (-1.1lb)
Total loss 1st 2.8lb
TW 9.7st

LetitGoDLP · 31/07/2026 09:38

Great work everyone.
Week 9 for me and down 2st 6lb which is mind blowing. Starting to get bored of similar meals so need to have a shake up.
Going on holiday for 12 days this week so will be taking my jabs and hoping I don’t go off the rails too much. Struggling with exercise with the children off school, they simply don’t walk fast enough.
@HNAN36 for healthy eating at Legoland it’s a good idea to take a meal deal with you. They simply don’t have options other than the Lego ice lollies in strawberry and mango which are lovely.
What are you doing with the old pens? The sharps bin I have is barely big enough to wedge 1 in.

ElviraZoffany · 31/07/2026 09:49

Morning everyone and congrats on all the great progress but so sorry to hear the sickness continues for you @bananamachinewater.

I’m just about to take my 6th jab (2.5). I’ve gained half a pound in weight this week but my scales say I’ve still lost body fat and gained muscle, water and bone mass, so a bit of a recomposition week for me.

I’ve definitely been hungrier this week than I’ve ever been before, but on the plus side, I’ve been eating enough to give me the energy to exercise and to go to the loo!!

I’m wondering if the increase in hunger is because I took a week off for holiday after jab 4 and therefore had no residual in my system by the time I took jab 5, or whether the 2.5 is becoming less effective. I need to order my next pen pretty soon, so need to know in case I should order a 5, but I guess that will be determined over the next few days.

HelenDenver · 31/07/2026 10:13

I feel like the 2.5 is less effective at quieting food noise than at the start but I have also felt nauseous a couple of times so can’t decide whether to go up.

ETA 7th jab this evening so need to make up my mind soon!

HNAN36 · 31/07/2026 11:34

@LetitGoDLP2st 6lb is amazing in 9 weeks!! What’s your SW and TW?

I am thinking of doing exactly that. Then get the kiddies something there so I don’t have to carry so much stuff. We went last year and I can’t remember what we did for food.

I put the lid on the pen, boxed it up and put it in the general waste bin. Just the sharps in the sharp bin.

@ElviraZoffanyI have been doing 3.75mg from a 5mg pen. Doing that again with my next pen. Barely had any side effects with 2.5mg, other than reduced food noise. But with 3.75mg I definitely know about it. We are away at the end of the month and a wedding in September so I don’t want to increase and get awful side effects again. I will probably look to increase after as I imagine weight loss will continue to slow.

JuniperRosy · 31/07/2026 11:56

I’ve just ordered by my next pen, was in two minds about whether to stay on 2.5mg or not, but have found that the suppression has reduced so opted for the 5mg pen with the intention of starting with 3.75mg for a while. I’ve still got the golden dose of my second pen to use first so won’t be moving up just yet.

in other news, I’ve switched to Lotus and have to say I’m really impressed. 3mins from submitting the form to approval!!
