My scales went mad yesterday.

They told me that I was 10st 3lb.
Then they told me that I was 11st 9lb.
And finally, after a minute or two, they told me that I was 19st 4lb.

So I threw them away and retrieved my old ones from the cupboard.

Immediately back to 10st 3lb

Guys, GUYS! I AM WEARING A BIKINI!

I hope you're not at work @TragicMuse !! But seriously - awesome sauce!

eibbed999 · 25/05/2026 06:52

Your scales are gaslighting you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne !

Weigh in day for me, and it's still going okay after the reset. Still clawing my way back down, but not experiencing vast food noise and finding it easy to stay within a reasonable calorie range - so that is all good, the feeling out of control was the worst thing when it wasn't working. 3lb off this week. My whole family is away without me for a few days, walking in Wales. I'm just not mobile enough between the formerly broken ankle, the niggling plantar and the weight, so I decided to stay at home with the dogs and avoid being the one holding everyone back, or feeling like I was a drag. It will be weird having the place to myself - but I don't feel like I'm going to do what I'd normally do in such circumstances, and have nineteen take aways!

Original SW: 307lbs
Reset SW: 272lbs
CW: 255lbs

EverybodysALebowski · 25/05/2026 10:17

too funny @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne guess you'll have to thank them for their service a la Marie Kondo and send them packing! Unless it's the battery (if they are battery-powered)

My scales haven't been moving much for a while so I'm creeping up to 10 mg soon. Boredom and anxiety cravings were starting to re-emerge. I'm doing pretty well at answering them with healthy food in moderation but need to do better on the exercise front, which I know will help with boredom and anxiety. But not today, given the temperature.

Morning losers, I hope you're all enjoying this glorious long weekend. I'm back on track after my holiday blip. I've lost 3 of the 4lb gain, so am back heading in the right direction.

I'm just back from an early morning dog walk on the beach, before the sun & crowds appear. And get this, I am wearing shorts! The first time in living memory I have exposed my legs in public. My wobbly thighs are a sight of their own, but I've realised I just don't care. I'd much rather have the loose skin than the extra lbs, and am learning to embrace my imperfections rather than be ashamed of them.

We went to our son's yesterday for a bbq, and I sat in an egg chair. 12 months ago, it would probably have collapsed under my weight! So I'm taking that as a NSV. Also my son always gives me a massive bear hug when I leave, and my DIL said I now look tiny next to him (he's a 6'3", solid unit!), which was lovely. It's the little things, isn't it.

@TragicMuse I get every word. It is just so freeing feeling 'normal' and not standing out as the token fat one. The invisibility of normality, I love that! And get you in your bikini, absolutely fabulous 🥰

@canaritini wow look at your legs, they are bloody fantastic x

@PearlsTeapot I hope you're doing ok lovely. We're all here cheering you on and hoping youre home soon 💗 xx

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne you scales sound like my brain, which can still malfunction and tell me I'm still huge, it's bonkers. Did you get your electrics sorted?

@eibbed999 I'm so happy your are back on track. Huge well done for sticking it out, you're amazing. I hope youre enjoying the peace & quiet x

Have a great bank holiday everybody, whatever you're doing. I can be found lazing in the garden, avoiding the housework 🤣🤣

Miserable. Jabbed as normal last night, sure I counted right, but have sulphur burps and a bad belly today.

especially embarrassing being on two-to-one (which is when two staff are with me at all times).

I weighed this morning hoping to have gone down a bit and I've gone up a kg!!! Anyone else weighing more in the heat? Or just me fluctuating?

I had a 2 day bleed after 6months no period (started hrt 10 days prior) and had hoped I'd get the old "post period woosh!" No such luck!

Yes, I've gained 3lb overnight 🤬. No reason at all for it, I've done nothing different, so it must be the heat.

TragicMuse · 26/05/2026 12:24

Water retention perhaps - if you’re sweating more and not drinking enough…

I’m feeling both hungry and nauseous. The only thing I can think of that will tempt me, is a chicken noodle cupasoup! Not exactly sustaining. Fortunately I have one to hand at work!

EducatingEater · 27/05/2026 06:57

Hope we are all managing after the last few days. It should be cooler here today, hope it's the same for you all.

Currently with family until the end of the week, I'm making a real effort to up the water but I'm still a bit swollen. I'm drinking at least 2 waters a day which for someone who didn't drink enough before has been a real change. Having said that. I'm not weeing much so I assume I could. Still improve.

Monday was almost 4lb off after a 2 week maintain so I'm happy enough with that. Almost looking forward to the scales this coming Monday. I'm only getting on one solid food meal a day at the minute (focusing protein as much as I can when it's someone else's house and food) and have protein shakes with me too.

eibbed999 · 27/05/2026 08:34

So, I've lived in leggings for many years. Yesterday it was way too hot, so I went for this nice Nobody's Child dress I have that's long and lineny and cool. I went to the shops in it, and discovered two things: 1, My thighs don't chafe as much as they used to, but it's still a thing! and 2, I REALLY need to buy some new knickers! I was walking home and started to realise they were rolling down. I had shopping in both hands, and had to do a weird juggle, stopping to tug them up every few steps. Barely made it home, and literally the minute I was through the front door, whoosh, they were round my ankles! Pant buying today - I've probably needed to for ages but the leggings always kept them up.

Frustratingly, I did get a take away last night. Family are away for a few nights and I was in on my own, first night was fine, second I just got a bit bored and twitchy and fed up. So even though I wasn't hungry, I ordered a Wagamama. Not as unhealthy as it could've been, but still, I knew I didn't need it even as I was placing the order. The brain is so powerful isn't it? Anyway, a 1lb gain overnight, so could've been worse - today is a new day and I will not do it again.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 27/05/2026 08:58

0.8 kg loss for me this week. Happy with that given the amount of buttery garlic bread I ate yesterday.

SW: 135 kg
CW: 110.7 kg
Total loss: 24 3 kg (3.8 stone)

TragicMuse · 27/05/2026 09:03

Snag chub rub shorts perhaps @eibbed999?

I going to put a pair in my bag tomorrow - day out in sweltering London!

Yes I've got some of those somewhere, they are excellent. Recently ordered a Snag dress as well, they have some lovely stuff, and I really appreciate how their models are real women of different shapes and sizes - not the carefully curated, completely in proportion, super pretty plus size models you normally see for bigger sizes! Good luck with the London heat - always feels so much more intense in a crowded city.

PearlsTeapot · 27/05/2026 12:45

Well I am truly miserable, I still have explosive diarrhoea and the burps. It's been since Monday and where I'm on two-to-one care it's just mortifying. Everyone is being very nice to me but I feel like shit and am so fed up.

I can't take Imodium as I get such severe constipation so ive got diarolyte and am just riding it out. I'm dropping down to 4mg even though 5 has been working so well for me since this seems to happen once a month or so for no reason at all. So hopefully a drop down will help.

Ketra · 27/05/2026 14:51

@PearlsTeapot sorry if being a bit personal, but you mentioning you get bad side effects once a month or so made me wonder if it could be related to your cycle - the first few months I was on MJ my AI picked up that I lost slightly less weight every 4 weeks (i think lined up with ovulation but can't remember now) and attributed it to me having more sodium in my diet and elevated hormones. I didnt think my cycle was affecting my weight until I looked at the full analysis. If you are regularly getting bad side effects it might be worth looking into.

Castlebark · 27/05/2026 20:05

A couple of NSVs this week. I forgot my swimsuit when taking the kids to the local leisure centre. And I fit the largest one they had for sale. Previously it would be extremely unlikely I'd fit anything at a place with such limited stock. And my current suit was getting rather baggy!
Then I went to IKEA and realised all their office chairs are tested up to 110kg, which I am now under, so don't need to spend a fortune on some specialist office chair when I need to replace my current one.
Still a long way to go, but I'm happy with the changes so far.

user593 · 27/05/2026 21:07

I am now at the half way point with my weight loss, but I’ve been feeling hungrier and my losses have been a lot slower in the last 7-10 days. I started at the end of November 25 and have lost just under 6st. I’m still on 5mg. Would going up to 7.5mg help? Has anyone been in a similar situation? I don’t mind paying the extra money but it would be annoying if it didn’t make much difference!

GnomeDePlume · 28/05/2026 06:45

@user593 losses will slow as you have less to lose. 5mg is not a high dose so it may well be useful to go up a level. I'm on 12.5mg (prescribed for diabetes).

GnomeDePlume · 28/05/2026 07:02

Weigh in and jab day

SW 140kg BMI 54.7
CW 87.4kg BMI 34.1
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

13 stone 11lbs in old money. 8 stone 4 lbs down.

I missed a weigh in last week so approached the scales with trepidation this week but was pleased to find any excess was offset by more exercise.

NSV: I have been okay in the heat. In previous years I have been a sweaty, uncomfortable, mess as soon as the temperature has gone above 25 degrees.

Those are great NSVs @Castlebark - I bought a walking pad/mini treadmill for the winter, I'd never been able to before because I was over the max weight limit! And the thing with being able to buy 'normal' sized clothes will never get old - one of my fears when we went on holiday was that the suitcase would get lost, and good luck finding size 26 clothes in Greece or Spain or whatever!

TragicMuse · 28/05/2026 08:47

Good morning losers!

I’m off for an adventure in London! Lunch and a matinee. Wearing my new dress, makeup, heels, freshly bleached hair. I feel glamorous and cool. I occupy just my train seat and have zero concerns about the theatre seat. I am crossing my legs. The fold down table is miles away from my stomach. I’ve got chub rub shorts on though our walking won’t be much and my thighs aren’t too much of a problem now.
I feel brilliant!
