My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

Same. Although I've got such strong suppression I'm having to force myself to eat twice a day, and I can't eat much before I'm full. So I'm trying to keep my protein up, and I've cut out almost all refined/processed food and "obvious" carbs. I know there's carbs in most things - milk, yoghurt, etc., even fruit, but I mean obvious things like bread, potatoes, cereal, pasta, rice, etc. I gained 1lb last week and it still hasn't shifted. I'm long past being hormonal, and I'm not constipated, so god knows what's going on! I stepped up to .5mg this week and jabbed on Monday. Hopefully it will make a difference to weight loss, but as I said I'm having to force food down as it is, so don't know if it's going to change anything.

This is my 5th week (4 x .25, 1 x .5) and I've lost 5.5 lbs. I did better than that at good old slimming world. At this rate it's going to be VERY expensive to get to my target.

I know I need to up my activity because I sit at a desk all day. But my previous experience is that exercise doesn't make a lot of difference to my weight loss. We'll see. At least the side effects have been minimal for me. I'm on another thread for mounjaro users and they're experiencing the same slow losses as us, but some of them are getting dreadful side effects.

Are you counting calories? How many are you having? I know all bodies are different, but if you run at a significant calorie deficit then you should lose weight.

do you drink alcohol?

Have you thought about eating slimming world style? You already know how to do it, and then the Mounjaro will reduce the amount of that food you eat or just make it easier to follow. I don’t think you need to move up a dose because you have good suppression, that’s the main point of the jab.

Keep at it though, you’ll make it

Thanks. No, I don't drink at all. I'm aiming for 1200 calories a day, low carb, but I'm having trouble getting there some days. Drinking loads of water too. I have a (very) under-active thyroid, which fights me all the way, but we'll get there I'm sure. X

Sorry this is you too. Maybe it’s a meno thing? Oh, the joys etc.

Slow and steady is good though, expensive, but probably better in the long run.

Keep going!

Ah that thyroid will be absolutely ruining it for you, that’s such a shame.

just keep sticking with it, we will all make it in the end. Do you have much to lose? I’m going for 102 (or 130 is my stretch goal) so I’ll be here for a loooooong time yet and can cheer you on.

Yeah and I think that the cost of the jabs is offset on the amount saved on food and drink, for me it is anyway. I’ve just bought myself a new iPad with the money I’ve saved, but I was terrible for blowing through £60 a week on Chinese food, and £25 a time drinking (sometimes 3 times a week), it’s not hard to see how I got so fat.

Will answers these the wrong way around…

2 Yes, I started lifting weights when I started. Never done it before. Really love it. I have paid a personal trainer for the time being as no idea what I am doing, but the routine we do could be done at home. I’m sure good example routines online. I do 2 x per week. Already feel stronger.

1 Like others, eggs, tuna, smoked mackerel, bit more meat and fish, lots of tofu and also protein powder in yogurt. I use Sun Warrior plain flavour. And I do buy most natural protein bars I have found (nakd). Eating enough protein isn’t that easy for me, but most days I’m at or over 100g. Apparently I should ideally be doing 112g, but unless I’m having a decent portion of meat that day, I don’t make it to that.

Wow, a personal trainer! I just do weights at home. I'm definitely feeling stronger.

Are you concerned about muscle hiding your true weight loss # on the scales?

I buy the MyProtein ready meals from Iceland. There is a huge range to choose from. My husband likes the meat feast pasta and meat feast pizza. I like the beef and chicken burrito bowl (ping in microwave then finish in the oven for 5 mins, chip shop curry, bang bang Thai chicken, Cajun chicken pasta, katsu curry and the sesame, honey and ginger chicken.

Most of them have a really good protein content (40-60g) per meal and they’ve been a godsend to ensure I am actually eating when I am too tired to prepare anything. My plan is to do some batch cooking when I get chance though as I do want to reduce the processed food.

another easy meal I do is protein wraps with chicken and salad and whatever sauce is to hand. One wrap is like 16g protein so that plus the chicken is great to fill you up and get your protein in but low calories.

Wow, those ready meals are super high in protein (and price, booo).

I've not seen any ready meals as high in protein. Even the Aldi & Lidl ones are half that.

Yep I did a Lidl shop last week and I was disappointed to be fair. Their meals are about 25g protein which is half what you get in the MyProtein ones. I bulk buy the MyProtein ones from Iceland when they’re on offer and if there’s a discount code on deliveries!

Another option though would be to buy some normal / cheaper ones and chuck some extra chicken or prawns in to boost the protein?

I'm still slowly making progress but next week I have to decide whether to go up to 5mg or not as I will be due to order my next pen. I am thinking that I will but will do 3.75mg first to ease in. I’m changing provider so hoping that they will let me purchase 5mg.

This week I jabbed on Monday morning and had decent suppression for 3 days but I can definitely feel it reducing in effectiveness now. The last few weeks have been a hard slog to get these losses….

Wk 1 -4lb
Wk 2 -3lb
Wk 3 -1.5
Wk 4 -1lb
Wk 5 -1.5lb
Wk 6 -0.5lb
Wk 7 TBC Tuesday

Who's moved up to 5mg so far??

Im on week 8 of the 2.5 and for some reason suppression going through the roof today. Had made a nice stew and had to put half of it back in the saucepan. Really odd. Most days I had not felt like I was hungry so had to remind myself to eat (and could easily not) but was definately able to eat when it happened. But today......

it’s weird how it can go up and down day to day and even meal to meal isn’t it?! I remember last week or week before thinking I can easily stay on 2.5 because I had high suppression day 6 but then day 1-3 I was hungry! it is fluctuating so much at the moment I can’t keep up!

I’ve got a 5mg pen but I only took 3.75mg for my first upped dose… thought I’d ease in gently and see how the suppression was…tbh not much difference actually. Have to decide what to do for next week 😬

No I’m not worried about that. I wouldn’t mind if my weight stayed the same, but I suddenly became strong and muscular. But I have lipodema so that won’t ever happen. I will always have a soft outer layer and I’ve made my peace with that. In fact, if anyone is feeling low about being plump / curvy / fleshy / whatever you call it, look up some B&W Victorian nudes (pornography). The ladies are always plump and squishy. I once walked through an antique shop and spotted these fruity Victorian nudes and it woke me up to the fact that body size fashions change in different times and cultures. So the upshot is… we are all lovely!

TeamsThemeTune · 12/06/2026 10:37

Morning all. Weigh-in today, and I've stayed exactly the same! Grrrr.... maybe I shouldn't have eaten that pasta last night. Still, 9lbs in 4 weeks is OK.

Supposed to be jab 5 today. I've changed supplier for the next pen - 2.5 again. I chose Lotus and they seemed to have good reviews for next-day delivery, put the order in on Wednesday night, everything was approved yesterday morning and they said it was being prepared for dispatch and I'd get tracking details from RM 'shortly'. Since then, radio silence. I know they say next day delivery isn't guaranteed, but I have to go out in the middle of the day tomorrow and no-one else will be home and I can only assume, based on the law of sod, that is when it will arrive.

Darn it - out of fashion by just 150 years or so!

Tulipwood · 12/06/2026 12:12

I stayed the same this week too. Frustrating! Why didn’t I get the 5mg pen 🤦‍♀️

7238SM · 12/06/2026 12:47

@TeamsThemeTune What was the order process for Lotus? Photos, videos, online consult etc? I need to order my next pen so looking around.

Very simple - just answered the usual questions, uploaded photos of my driving licence, last prescription label on the box and a front and side on body photo (I used the first ones as they were within 30 days), chose the pen and that was that.

I paid £114 - Monj says it's £104, but I only got a £40 discount. No doubt I did something wrong - I was trying to get it done in a bit of a hurry so might have missed something vital.

Greenfingers37 · 12/06/2026 12:55

I’ve switched to Lotus as well. Really straightforward and they included a box of 100 anti bac wipes!

Did you get your tracking number soon after they said it was being prepared for dispatch? I've still not had anything more than 24 hours later.

I'm still getting fairly good suppression and satiety for most of the week, staying under my calories, so am just going to hang on at 2.5 for another month. Plus I'm a bit of a scaredy cat!

Greenfingers37 · 12/06/2026 13:03

I ordered it last Friday, it was prescribed on Saturday afternoon and I received it on Tuesday.
I did email them on Saturday morning as it seemed slow compared to Medexpress and I thought I’d maybe not sent something.
Not as quick as Medexpress for sure but worth it for the discount and excess wipes!!!

PuppyKeep · 12/06/2026 13:16

It's weigh day for a lot of us.

I only lost 1lb this week, and I'm happy. My period is due today and I carry a LOT of water weight at this point in my cycle, and I've been lifting weights almost daily. I'm surprised there's even a loss tbh.

I've got my 5 waiting for me in the fridge to start after I finish my first pen.

7238SM · 12/06/2026 14:10

Did my 1st gold dose today.
There was actually more than 1 dose left, but not enough for 2x 2.5mg doses, so I used what was left which was just under 4mg. I'll see how I go and if there is any difference which might sway what dose I get for my 2nd pen.
