I’ve finally taken the plunge and just ordered Wegovy from Asda pharmacy. All been well it should be ready for collection on Tuesday so it would be great to hear from anyone else who has just started or is about start their WLI/Weygovy journey.
I’m very nervous and haven’t told anyone, but I’ve just failed at my 3rd diet attempt this year and feeling horribly self-conscious about my weight and dreading the summer so just thought fuck it, I’m going to give it a go.

today i'm out of the obese category and now into overweight bmi.
28.7 lbs to go to be within the normal range.

it's also suppose to be my injection day, i will play it be ear based on my food choices and how tempted i am to make poor ones. saturday doesn't work well for jabbing (early am rise, full day at the market) so if not today then sunday.

how's everyone else getting along with the meds/food/exercise etc?

Voltefarce · 05/06/2026 18:26

I am finding that I cannot eat a full meal, but there has been very little impact on my bored snacking. I am 1.2kg down in 5 weeks, have been on 0.5mg for one jab. I had expected a little more impact, but hopefully that will come.

Ibwah · 05/06/2026 18:46

Hi @Voltefarce i am the same. Cannot eat a full meal but snacking and food noise is still
very much present!

jabsahoy · 06/06/2026 06:20

2lb off this week so decided to stay at 0.25mg (was going to double jab). I am 11lb down in 8 weeks, happy with that as feels like it might be sustainable. Hoping for same again before summer hols. I'd still be obese by bmi but better than I was. My "alternative" celebration this week is that am now into the 70kgs! Hopefully never see the 80s again!

VividDeer · 06/06/2026 09:23

Well I got my period unexpectedly (hormone treatment), so that probably explains my week of no loss. Must keep plodding on.
I also read that your weight fluctuates more on WLI than via traditional diets. Water retention, change in digestion etc.

I do weigh every day and now I'm on wegovy I try and see the bigger picture. Wish I could dump the scales, but I'm rather dependent on them

BreakingBroken · 08/06/2026 18:25

Jab #7 yesterday evening (the house was peaceful).
2 lbs down over the week.
still on .25mg
SW 186.6
CW 167.9
GW 140
next mini target is 166.6 the 20lb loss mark.
zero side effects.
My struggle though is balanced food choices; hitting the protein and fiber goals within my 1100 cal suggested range.

Ibwah · 08/06/2026 19:23

Wow you’re all doing well. I went up to 0.5 yesterday. Put in 2lb this week but I had very sore DOMs and apparently this can add a few pounds as you retain water. Went paddle boarding and ran 5km

BreakingBroken · 08/06/2026 21:04

@Ibwah yes dom's certainly do and large muscles like glutes can hold a lot of water!! potassium (potatoes and banana's help shift that water weight). paddle boarding once in my life is on my bucket list. my walking workouts are much more modest but it's working.

you're workouts will pay off in spades, good bones and lots of lean muscle.

Ibwah · 08/06/2026 22:29

@BreakingBroken thanks. I will say that I feel like I’ve finally got change in appetite being on 0.5mg. Feel very full and just don’t fancy much.

itsallabouttobegin · 09/06/2026 07:34

SW 16st 6.4lb, BMI 40.1
today 15st 1.5lb, BMI 38.6
Lost 1st 5lb/19lb in 8 weeks

3lb off this week despite a weekend of camping and little control over what was available to eat as everybody pitched in. Helped by vomiting bug Sunday night though so I’ve waited extra days to weigh.

Im going to stay on 0.25 for a 3rd month. Still happy with that added bit of control it gives me. Had GP appt week re my dodgy knee and going to increase the exercise now

Pairymoppins · 10/06/2026 08:26

Final 0.5 today of my current order today. Debating whether to increase to 0.7 or not. Has anyone moved up to 0.7? I did lose few pounds earlier in the month but nothing for the last week. Felt good suppression mostly but yesterday I was thinking about food all day. And wine! Haven’t experienced that before.

lechatnoir · 10/06/2026 10:57

3rd pen and had a bit left from click counting so ended up doing 0.48mg instead of the full 0.5mg as I felt a bit sick last week. Managing to keep up the intermittent fasting which is definitely helping the weight come off and not feeling hungry and nearly at the 1 stone mark so very happy especially as my trousers aren't quite so strained at last!

@Pairymoppins could you go up to the 0.7 pen but then click count just a slight increase and see how that goes? If you're not suffering with SE's then the only down side of increasing is really the cost I guess but no point in staying on if it's not working.

Pairymoppins · 10/06/2026 12:51

Thanks @lechatnoir actually don’t know where I got 0.7 from as the next prescribed dose is 1mg. So decided to stay on 0.5 for another 4 weeks and then review again. I am really working on strength training and hoping I’ll see some fat loss even if weight doesn’t move much.

BreakingBroken · 12/06/2026 16:58

just day to day variations the past few days.
i have increased my protein intake (to simply reach 65gms) and consequently that's increasing my calories as well.
i'm pleased with my fitness "routine" but am eager to see the scales react.
i remain neither hungry or not hungry. and do find myself constantly chasing that nutritional balance, some days i get the protein, some the fiber, some the water but getting all 3 is a puzzle i've yet to master.

VividDeer · 13/06/2026 09:13

I've finally seen consistent losses this week. My chart really does yoyo about. Just got to keep the faith i reckon. There is definitely more fluctuations compared to regular dieting. (Well my regular dieting usually ends going upwards 🤣).
I'm almost touching on normal Bmi. But have a birthday weekend away next week, so might take a while to achieve.

Might delay jab for birthday as going out for lunch. I've still not told dh!

I did tell my oncologist who was very supportive. The clinic staff came and double checked my weight due to change. I reassured the lovely lady I wasn't unwell.

@VividDeer i love a good graph!!
exercise going well and so are food choices although some day's my calories are close to maintenance as i try to sneak in some extra protein or fiber.
weight is creeping down.
so far i have nothing negative to say about this process.

BreakingBroken · 14/06/2026 16:16

averaging just under 2 lbs loss per week.
I was hoping after yesterdays hike i'd be down more but i know it's silly to expect that the day after a solid workout, i even sat in the hot tub yesterday evening.
i'm very very close to the 20 lbs loss mark. but absolutely tired of being in the upper 160's or 160's period!!

CW 167.2 yesterday i was 166.7

JumpingJacks11 · 14/06/2026 18:53

@BreakingBroken wow that’s such an incredible loss, imagine in April if someone had have told u in just a few weeks you’d have a stone and half off.

ive eaten out the last 2 evenings (albeit deff much smaller portions than before) but I feel quite bloated today and like I’ve weight on. I still think I’m averaging 1,000-1,200 cals per day but the change in food has made such a difference.

weighed Wednesday (5th week as I had 2 weeks not injecting) down just under 2 pounds so 17 in total.

i go on holiday on Tuesday for 2.5 weeks. I’ve decided I’m just going to inject Tuesday as normal and not bring it. What I’m hoping will happen is I just don’t put weight on. If I came back the same I’d be delighted 🤞🏽

Ibwah · 14/06/2026 22:08

Hiya- some incredible losses. Im
still only about 5lb down and not feeling much on 0.5 even though there was a promising start. I have just ordered a 1mg pen. A few of my friends said they didn’t feel much until 1mg. I am still over 13 stone at 5’2”. I have recovered from my foot injury and have got back to running. I have done 2 x 5km this week, but have lost a lot of fitness in that time (7 weeks) and am back to running v slowly. Onto week 7 now. Am keeping going.

BreakingBroken · 14/06/2026 22:45

@JumpingJacks11 at some point i stretched out my jab day to 10, just to see what would happen if anything and certainly on day 10 i was not feeling any different than on day's 1-9. i hope you have a similar easy go of your 14 day stretch. oh and i hope you enjoy a lovely holiday!!
positive thoughts @Ibwah that the med's kick in a bit more effectively. 5 lbs is still 5 lbs less but yes as a well seasoned dieter i would have expected "more" by week 7.

being a sucker for punishment, i did yesterday's hiking challenge with dh and ddog. i wanted to do it again so that i could somewhat commit the trail to memory (it's unmarked) full sun here 29C 615ft elevation gain the first 1/3 is solid uphill (staring at your feet, making sure not to trip so i can't say that i appreciated the "sights") then a seemingly short flat stretch followed by a steep downhill which certainly challenged the front of my legs. it wouldn't be unexpected to see bears or cougars so i was glad dh and ddog were with me (i wouldn't hike that alone, it's rather off the beaten path and only saw 1 other person on an e-bike in the 1.5hr time).

VividDeer · 15/06/2026 08:12

I had a weekend of beer, cookies, ice cream and wine! So need to work off the bloat. And I'm away next weekend. Do need some rewards and I did enjoy the festival. Jabbing today.

@BreakingBroken are you in Canada or somewhere similar?

Pairymoppins · 15/06/2026 08:24

@Ibwah I have also decided to increase to 1mg this week. Lost 3lbs at the start of 0.5 but immediately gained one lb back and scales haven’t moved in two weeks. I think I’ve lost 7 or 8 lbs total over eight weeks, it feels very slow.

BreakingBroken · 15/06/2026 16:51

@VividDeer yes way out in western canada, a city but not a big one, Vancouver about 4+ hours away based on traffic.
The house was nice and quiet and I took my 8th and final jab from pen #1. I'll see about another pen today.
Meanwhile although a miniscule drop I've officially lost the first 20#
But I've not seen the expected drop in weight from the two hikes yet.
@Pairymoppins that's still 1 lb a week which is not an unhealthy loss, do you have much to loose, i can't remember but i do know your on top of the exercise. are you tracking protein and fiber intake (although i am not taking in tons my parameters are set rather conservatively) but i'm surprised how little of these my "regular" diet seems to include.

Pairymoppins · 15/06/2026 18:25

I can get to 100g protein without too much trouble, any more than that is a struggle! My fibre intake is also OK. Probably my overall calories still too high.

BreakingBroken · 15/06/2026 23:07

@Pairymoppins Nutricheck is known to be pretty accurate and free give it a go. i find breakfast really easy to log in, and if i start my day in the 200-250 range the rest comes easier. lunch closer to the 300 mark, and simple suppers 500. this leaves me 100-200 calories of wiggle room.
Well, off I went to the pharmacy and indeed 1 have a 3 month prescription. I requested the same dosage and brand so a combined .25 and .5 pen of Ozempic price...$105 down from 8 weeks ago $281. No complaints.
