Hi starting mounjaro this week is there a thread already set up I can join?

Second pen arrived on Sat and did my fourth jab yesterday.

Weirdly, I’ve definitely had appetite suppression but I don’t seem to be losing any weight, odd - has anyone else found that it kicks in a bit later?

I’ll keep it up with the next doses but it feels odd the scales aren’t showing a loss when I know for sure I’ve snacked less and eaten less rubbish.

are you tracking your calories too? I am using Nutracheck and scan / weigh everything in, and it tells you how much you should be aiming for?

4 weeks on Mounjaro and I've lost a stone, so I'm happy with that. Wondering if I should be moving up a dose as food noise is creeping back in this week, but have already got the next 2.5mg pen delivered so will keep going.
I'm going to try and take the golden dose tonight from my first pen. Eek.
Not to many side effects so far, occasional slight stomach cramps but nothing terrible. And its made me dislike artificial sweetners weirdly, so I am missing being able ro drink a Pepsi max every now and then!

MyGardenDaisies · 18/05/2026 19:18

@Relaxd only felt very tired since moving up to 5mg last Monday.

I have been drinking less water and had a takeaway and alcohol on Friday, and kids up at 5:30 😅 so this week prioritising my 2l of water and early nights so I can fairly compare how I feel.

I have 6 weeks worth of 5mg left though to use up, so if I decide to go back to 2.5mg it will be after that. I have felt same suppression as on 2.5mg so far. Will see about PMS week as that’s when 2.5mg really felt like it wasn’t doing much

Cocachanel · 19/05/2026 08:52

On holiday so calorie counting tricky. Glorious breakfasts, & I realised yesterday that I'm only choosing upf - free options, no bread & no cakes or sweet stuff, though available in abundance
Step count up by around 20%. Eating what I fancy & not worrying overly. Continued good suppression. Minimal or no weight gain will be a huge positive for me. Also - I have revamped my grocery order for return to reflect the foods I'm eating here.

Cocachanel · 19/05/2026 08:54

NSV after losing 5kg in 6 weeks is one less chin, & bra does up tighter by two notches or an inch

MyGardenDaisies · 19/05/2026 10:06

Morning!

-7.8kg (17.2lbs) in 5w1d. I am very close to moving from Obesity class III to class II and BMI <40. Very happy with that!

Still very tired even with 8.5h of sleep and 2l+ water, so think it truly is a negative side effect of 5mg that I didn’t have on 2.5mg. 🥲

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 19/05/2026 10:23

Morning all, week 8 jab for me this morning and total loss is 18lb, so averaging 2lb per week which is good. Obviously I’ve had bad side effects on jab day on the 5 so I’m just going to have a panini this evening - a bland one 😂. I’ve got the golden dose left and then I’ve already got another 5 pen so will be sticking for now.

MyGardenDaisies · 20/05/2026 09:44

Another day, another 100g loss. -7.9kg

I am trying to do more strength training - moving from 2 to 3 workouts per week. Now the fat and inflammation is a bit less, I can start seeing some muscles shaping up

a bit bored with protein yogurts. What do you guys eat that’s 20-30g of protein for snacks?

Hi all - just popping in from the May 26 thread! Can any of you who have used the golden dose let me know how it went for you please? Did you manage to force the pen or did you buy insulin needles? And if so would you mind linking which ones you bought please?

Hello, I found it really easy to force the pen back round for the extra dose, but I don't know if all pens will be so easy as I have only done it once so far. I did buy some surringes just in case, and extra needles from UKMEDI.

Thanks @pomegranatepie silly question but do you literally just use the pen in the same way but have to apply more force to prime it and then click it to the number 1?

Exactly that, just twist as normal, and when it catches give it a bit of welly, until it gets to 1.

I bought seperate needles and just extracted about 0.7ml to allow for air and then primed it back to the 0.6 for the dose. I felt more confident in getting the exact right amount that way. It was really easy.

NorthDevonBeachLover · 20/05/2026 18:22

I just bought insulin syringes from Amazon, worked perfectly fine for me

Isabelle70 · 20/05/2026 19:53

Check in with the nurse today, 6cm off my waist and 6lb down. I want slow and steady so happy with that and 2.5 prescribed for my second pen.

pomegranatepie · 20/05/2026 21:12

Having escaped side effects for my first month, I seem to have some now, Dodgy stomach for the last few days. Or it could be stress (my mum has just had a stroke, minor luckily but it's given us all a massive scare, especially so soon after my dad dying).
My go to for stress is normally eating sugar, hence the weight gain to begin with, and I have no desire to eat it at the moment at all, my appetite is almost non existent. I'm now wondering if I miscounted my clicks and gave myself a bigger dose than the 2.5.
I am making myself eat, albeit mechanically.

TFICoffeetime · 20/05/2026 23:44

Sorry to hear that @pomegranatepie
Life is hard when parents are ill or passed.
Wishing your family well.
I've had upset stomach which unsure if it's due to a higher dose or just a bug. But I'm sure extra worry won't have helped.

Morning!

another -0.2kg, so total -8.1kg in 5w3d. I can see it now in the mirror, but don’t feel too much as still in the same clothes, they just fit looser, and dropped the jeans sizes.

actually this morning it took me by surprise that I now have definition to my neck and armpits are starting to actually have a bit of a ‘pit’ 🤣 it’s been a 1.5 years since I was at my current size (before last baby)

NettleTea · Yesterday 08:25

I have the dreaded constipation today. I didnt go yesterday, so its only a day, but as someone who was noticably at the other end of the spectrum, its quite noticable. Im not sure what to do as its out of my normal experience, so any recommendations. I dont think I did anything different with my diet but my water intake could have been a bit lower (but still not unreasonable)

I feel you, I keep getting constipated and am finding it really hard to get enough fibre in my diet! I have had a few Fybogel sachets which does help move things along.
Another weigh in for me this morning and another 1lb down this week, wishing it was more but also grateful that it's going the right way! I need to experiment more with food as keep finding myself eating the same things on repeat as I'm just not that interested in what I'm eating.

I was silly and didn't take my measurements until 3 weeks in but did them again the other day and I'm definitely changing shape which is nice to see.

Cocachanel · Yesterday 09:38

@NettleTea very surprised to find that a daily kiwi has made a significant difference for me.
I understand that a day in the rhythm of the bowel is around 3-4 of our days, so it may take a little while to take effect, but after 4 weeks of feeling heavy & uncomfortable, I'm suddenly back to regularity!
Maybe coincidentally, my sleep has also regularised. Back to deep sleep & rem & fewer night wakenings.

oh thats good to know, I shall get some today and hope things start moving. I have also started having really shit sleep again too, and am sure its linked to digestive problems

madeinthe80z · Yesterday 10:02

Looks like frogspawn but kiwi, Greek yog and soaked chia seeds I’ve been trying but then again I’m definitely still a lot less regular! @Cocachanel interesting about the slow response time I will keep at it and hopefully be more regular soon!

Having stuck at 2.5 for my 2nd pen, im now regretting it as definitely no suppression. Can anyone advise how to extract 3.75 from a 2.5 pen please as I think that's what ill do for jabs 6 and 7 before starting the 5 pen (still at 3.75). I've got the syringe etc but im not sure how to prime the pen , or even if I need to? I've only had 1 x 0.6 dose out of this pen. I hope all that makes sense!
