@myladyjane they were compass jellyfish, the ones with brown stripes, according to Dr google the sting is meant to be quite painful…still not sure how the people already in the sea managed to avoid them? (Not many kids in there though).
Glad you’ve ruled out diabetes and nothing too sinister has cropped up in the more recent results.

@tinyemmy there’s a gorgeous sea pool here that I meant to book before getting here, but wanted to wait till nearer the time as I thought it would rain this week. Of course, sun has been out and it’s fully booked. But good reminder for me to check out other pools near our next location.

@HeidiLite yes, beach life is easier, this is my second summer at this weight. I now own three pairs of shorts! I also changed under a towel on the beach into my swimsuit without too much of a struggle.

Jins · 08/08/2026 09:42

Good news on the test results @myladyjane. Good luck sorting the stress out and if you manage it then please let me know how! Despite being retired nowadays I still feel like I’m running on adrenaline a lot of the time.

Weight slightly up this morning following a greedy portion of lamb stifado made by my own fair hands from some slightly freezer burnt lamb. Had it with new potatoes and broccoli and it was really nice. I’ve decided to bring my jab forward so I won’t feel so hungry at the festival and grumble about the lack of gluten free options. Might push levels a bit higher than I’m used to but hopefully not into side effect territory.

I fell into a rabbit hole big time yesterday looking for ways to dispose of large quantities of polystyrene left over from a few projects. Now I’m trying to track my acetone down and looking for things to waterproof 🤣🤣🤣.

Wtafmakeitstop · 08/08/2026 10:26

Ooh freezer lamb sounds nice @Jins . Apart from the obvious question of how to bear cooking anything when it’s hot. I really need to clear my freezer and use some of the stuff that’s been there too long.

Still hovering around 60, still on 7.5. I have some swimming/running stuff coming up so will maybe wait until after that to try to eat less and in the meantime try to make better choices (looking at you bag of left-over prawn crackers 😳)

Wishing everybody a happy weekend ☀️

My darlings does anyone use swift dr as a maintenance provider? I use pharmulous at the moment who are fine but i rarely get codes and it’s not the cheapest. Are they ok/ easy to switch/how long between orders?

No, but I’m thinking of swapping to them. Mentioned il thread I’ve had an absolute nightmare with Pharmulous and have lodged an official complaint. I used IQ doctor this time with a 30% off code. Apparently you can go 8 weeks between pens with Swift Doctor:

currently over on the continent WLI access seems to be wild west. I have gotten my prescriptions from Germany and France, but friends for example in Netherlands and Sweden say the same. Tons of online providers, one asked me for photos, but the rest of them are happy to prescribe whenever and whatever. A little worrying as I'm sure plenty of people with eating disorders etc will get their hands on the drugs.

Catching up!
Good news and no doubt a huge relief @myladyjane, hopefully just heat related and kidney etc ones ok.

@DGmaintainingholiday sounds wonderful! Are you in Madeira? Hope it’s been amazing and you managed to find somewhere to swim!

can’t wait to hear about the festival @Jinsand especially the Wurzels!

quietish weekend here, lots of jobs done including humping a huge load of logs up our drive and some steps, so that was a good workout! All packed for holiday and only 3 more sleeps!! Have had an annoying tooth niggle so trying to get an emergency dentist appt just in case! DS back from Boardmasters today so lots of washing no doubt!!

i finally managed a successful golden dose extraction on Saturday ( just in time for new pens with no golden dose!!), 7.5mg. Will jab again with new 5mg pen on Thursday. It feels like MJ isn’t having as much of an effect now, is anyone else finding that?

hope you all have fantastic weeks!

BreezyPeer · Yesterday 08:52

Sorry, been MIA for a while- started my new job and the first week has been intense but really interesting.
@26inprogress post festival laundry is always a different experience to usual laundry! Good luck 🤞
@HeidiLite that’s interesting about access to wli on the continent. I haven’t tried here for many months so I don’t really know what it’s like in the UK right now. Still working through my stockpile and really hoping I will finish then but who knows?
@Jins I put a load of polystyrene in my recycling ♻️ bin. The bin men took it all out and disposed of the rest of the recycling and put it back 🤣it’s impossible to get rid of - more good luck to you xxx
Got a week off now. Hoping to get a lot of house jobs done and we are also away for a couple of days. Looking forward to it xxx

Polkadotdash · Yesterday 09:26

@26inprogress I too have a teen returning from Boardmasters today. Well I assume he is. We’ve only had one message from him and that was yesterday and it was a photo of him eating his ‘only proper meal’ of baked beans and 8 hash browns 🤪

I have started the week on a downer. Another 4lb on. So that’s 8lb in a fortnight. I didn’t even think that was medically possible, but here we are. I could understand it if I was binge eating, boozing and lying around. But my life is pretty much the same. Still eating about 1500 a day, walking lots and not drinking.

Jins · Yesterday 13:26

Back from farmer Phil’s festival and a day of perfect camping weather. Lovely small festival with a fabulous relaxed vibe. I have to confess to consuming what turned out to be the perfect amount of cider as I was out for the count before the sun set and missed the evening entertainment entirely. Including the Wurzels I’m afraid but DH tells me they were brilliant and the videos he took looked fab.

in polystyrene news the bin bags full of polystyrene and solvent have shrunk to about half the original size so we’ll have to get rid of them gradually in the black bin. It’s very hard to dispose of indeed @BreezyPeer and I really don’t feel like hiring a skip at the moments as we don’t have much else to put in one

myladyjane · Yesterday 14:47

Oh @Jins proud of you (and I said the wurzels rocked)

so my thyroid tests are in and they are fucked! Turns out they did do T3 and T4 as well as tsh which is good but it did show that I am very much overactive at the moment. So repeat tests to see if it’s ongoing or just a short term blip.

tonight is reading up on mj and thyroid stuff. A quick google tells me you can do both once controlled but perhaps I need to ease off a bit. Don’t know, need to take a proper look. I actually feel a bit relieved as I knew something wasn’t quite right.

HeidiLite · Yesterday 14:58

@myladyjane do you have the numbers? Just curious. And if you are thinking that surely you should be dropping pounds when overactive, not necessarily. I had it the first time I got symtoms, could eat a ton and kept losing, but the second time I did not have any weight loss, just other not very pleasant symptoms.
